A list of puns related to "Curtailment (electricity)"
Greetings Sky warriors,
Quick question regarding DEROS and timing for officer separations. I'm planning on getting out later this year, and have a DEROS of late November.
I'm trying to go to grad school after getting out (working on getting accepted), which would start in late August. No ADSC or other retention requirement remaining. But...Problem on my end...
With only 60 days of terminal leave allowed, I'm not sure if I'll be able to get out on time to actually start that academic school year due to my late DEROS. What are the chances of me curtailing the DEROS by a month or two? Anyone have luck with that?
Thanks!

I've heard of people curtailing from overseas posts for any number of reasons (medical concerns, an embarrassing diplomatic incident, boredom, family didn't like the place) and understand that they are sent back to DC on overcomplement in the bureau that "owns" them until they receive a new assignment.
Is curtailment also possible in a domestic assignment? It seems like it would be odd to have someone leave a job in a bureau only to be sent over to another temporary assignment within that bureau. At the same time, there must be a way for the office or employee to break the assignment if necessary. Curious if anyone has heard of this happening and what the outcome was.
I might be alone, especially on Reddit, but I'm curious to see what people think. So here I go nonetheless.
I'm sick and tired of the governments (states and federal, but particularly the states) bringing in and expanding more and more restrictions, requirements, grabbing and extending emergency powers all in the name of 'keeping us safe' and all the while providing no substantial guarantees that many of these emergency measures will be ever be curtailed. There are no end dates or real guarantees.
My post tonight was inspired by my late discovery that NSW (apparently Tasmania too) is going to demand that all venues (woolies, coles and even takeaway) now force everyone to check-in, no exceptions from the 12th of July or be fined (https://www.nsw.gov.au/media-releases/covid-check-mandate-expanded) . All to keep us safe because the delta is "so much worse". I have to ask, a few (rhetorical) questions here:
Moving onto the vaccine....
While I personally have nothing against the vaccine, I do not want people coerced to take it and it seems to be a notion that is gaining popularity. Pakistan is cutting off the unvaccinated phones, Abu Dabhi is banning them from public places, the Phillipians is threatening jail, and Scomo wants to ban travel for the unvaccinated...
Many of these developments worry me because even if you agree with the arguments and trust the government today, you have no idea who will be in power tomorrow (just look at history). It

I would like to ask one question about a Student Visa. I am an international student studying in the UK.
Let me explain my incident first.
I am attending a masters' degree and am supposed to finish this year. Unfortunately, due to some tragedies in this early year, I got a referral work for one module. I will be able to pass after I finish that module in the upcoming weeks. But, the problem is I received a letter from the university about student visa curtailment. I am planning to apply for a post-study visa after graduation. What can I do for that curtailment, please? Can I request an extension? Thank you very much.
Have a nice day!
Does anyone have any anecdotes or updates on how long it's taking for visa curtailment letters to ARRIVE? I'm considering switching jobs and the company is finishing off its UK incorporation before it can apply to be a sponsor and sponsor a visa application. I'm interested in hearing about timing (from recent applicants!) on the curtailment letters.
They just make light of it
