A list of puns related to "Criminal possession of a weapon"
Yes, the individual was possessing the firearm illegally, but they used it for a noble cause, to protect themselves or others. The person illegally possessing the firearm didn't use it with the intent to commit a criminal act. And as a side question, would a person possessing a firearm illegally face charges if they used it to stop a home invader who has broken into their own residence? I'm sure there are many variables such as what state/local firearm laws are, who the county prosecutor is, what local law enforcement is like, etc.
hello,
i'm looking for some advice on how to proceed with a pending court case on june 30th. Incident occurred at JFK airport in NY. here's the story:
i went to visit family and took my work bag with me. the bag has had a pair of brass knuckles in them for over a year for self defense. i forgot to remove them and the TSA found them when it went through their scanner. police detained me, gave me a Desk Appearance Ticket (DAT) for June 30th.
the charge on the DAT is "criminal possession of a weapon in the 4th degree". i researched what that is and it appears to be a class A misdemeanor.
i have no priors, no record. should i lawyer up? what am i possibly facing? thanks in advance.
By all means arrest the dudes selling fentanyl to vulnerable people. If youβre a crackhead though, getting arrested and getting a record will probably never end with a positive impact on society. Confiscate the drugs and after 3 strikes, send them to rehab because they need help.
[TLDR; robbed as an international student in France. ~10,000 euros laundered out of my account, the bank threatened accused me of being a criminal + thief + liar and told me that they would put this on my criminal record. What can I do in this position, being back in my home country, yet tied to this mess abroad?]
Thanks so much for taking the time to read my post, and for any advice! I truly do appreciate it. Sorry that this post was so long, it really is an intricate case with a lot of cause and effect β¦ Additional apologies if this shouldn't be here -- I'm also about to post this in the Canada and Europe thread, but I'm hoping that there may be some more bank experts/civil law experts(/criminal law?) experts lurking here that can give me additional advice and input.

Hello everyone,
I am posting this in hopes that someone may know a bit about the legal financial ramifications that would apply to bank fraud and me as the victim of a room-break in abroad. I was a student studying abroad in France for a couple of years. To move out of my student residence, I had to inform the residence that I was moving out a month in advance. In my final month βinβ the residence, I went traveling for a couple of weeks, and when I came back to my apartment, I noticed about a week before I formally moved out that my apartment was broken into.
Around 300 euros worth of material possessions were stolen, and I realized that copies of my ID (passport, Visa, birth certificate) had been stolen as well. I kept copies of these in my room because I often needed to submit these for my school/visa/my residence card. I also realized that my mail had been stolen, because I forgot to bring my mail key to take my mail when I was about to go on a trip, and I came back to an empty mailbox (the residence does not empty the mailboxes). I should add that these are not items that are easily found in my room, but with enough time, youβll be able to find them. Aside from what was stolen, my bank information (IBAN, wiring information, etc.) was also kept in a drawer in my room. I donβt know if this information was stolen (i.e. someone taking a picture of these coordinates).
At this time, my bank card was unable to go through

Senate. The article linked has a way for people to contact their representative and ask for support.
Some of y'all care about this, some don't; that's cool. I wanted to put it out there, that House Bill 81, sponsored by Representatives Joe Moody (D) and Jason Isaac (R) has been scheduled for a hearing of testimony before the Criminal Jurisprudence Committee on Monday March 13th.
The bill reduces the possession of weed under two ounces from a Class B misdemeanor to a simple civil offense with a fine of no more than $250.
Here is the full text of the bill.
It's not full legalization, but IMO it is moving the ball forward with bipartisan support and it is a positive step forward towards ending the criminalization of non-violent offenses for small possessions. If this is something you're about, contact your rep and ask for their support on this bill.
Thinking of writing a story, just want to know what the charge would be. I want to sidestep any technicalities early on before I get too into it.

I tried logging into my online banking space, to no avail, as both my password and the phone number associated with the account had been changed. I submitted a request to change my online bank password, and receiv
