An investigation by state corruption watchdog, which involved interviewing 43 people, examining 10 people in hearings and considering a range of submissions, revealed ample evidence to support the conclusion that the Queensland Police Service engaged in discriminatory recruitment practices in striving to achieve a 50 per cent female recruitment target between December 2015 and October 2018.

In one email, a recruitment staffer warned there were only 163 women in the applicant pool, with 160 required to be appointed that year to meet targets.
The investigation concluded about 2000 male applicants were subjected to discriminatory assessment practices.
If they had not been discriminated against, the CCC estimated about 200 more men would have been successful in their attempt to join the police service.
