English isn't my native language (not even my second language).But I do love to watch british series in english and if available with subtitles(not often the case somehow). Imagine my confusion when a unrelated looking 30 year old calls the older women character Mom. Because it didn't happen to often on my viewings (maybe Ma'am isn't that common) I was confused but I put it always aside as me being not attentive enough. Only with the magic of subtitles was I able to understand how much of an moron I was.
I have been using Jellyfin since April of 2021 with almost no issues. The ones I've had were all due to the apps I was using (a few Firestick, but mostly Roku) and not the server itself. But just this past week it seems the whole system is just doing whatever it wants. Half the content plays fine, half the content totally shuts the system down and demands, at best, a restart of Jellyfin, and at worst a reboot of the machine. Sometimes when you try to play the same file it will crash the system again, and sometimes it will play for a bit and then crash the system. Ocassionally it will play fine the second or third of fourth try. As far as I am aware nothing has changed to cause the issue. Jellyfin runs on a dedicated Debian machine that does absolutely nothing else at all except run Jellyfin. The media is stored on a synology NAS that does nothing other than store the media. I noticed several months ago there were 2 shows that made the server act this way, so I just avoided watching them and sort of forgot about them. I have sense added many shows and movies and never had an issue. Now, within the past 2-3 weeks I am finding that more and more files cause the issue, and in the past week its nearly half of the files I try to play. I have broken down MKV's to see whats inside them, looking for any sort of pattern and I can't come up with anything other than that all of the ones that crash contained .ass files. But almost all of the ones that work properly also contain .ass files as well so I don't think its related. Today I discovered a show that does not contain any subtitle file is doing the same thing, so I have rulled that out. I am not sure what the next step is.
Can anyone offer any suggestions?

In the early 2000s Croatian public TV broadcast this slapstick comedy series as a part of their program for children. It was translated as Gospodin Ε eprtlja, which would literally mean "Mr. Clumsy", but that is definitely not the original title. There is a book character named Mr. Clumsy, but this is something else. This series were about a middle-aged man who is very clumsy, and therefore does absurd things. For example, I remember an episode in which he went on vacation and then played tennis alone. He would kick the ball and then run to the other end of the court to kick it again. IIRC, episodes were only five minutes long, and I really think it was British, because I associate that type of humor with British people, and I would say that it had a "vibe" similar to the one that Teletubbies or Brum had, but I may be wrong.
So, does anybody have an idea? I tried advanced search on IMDb, but couldn't find it. Thank you in advance.
EDIT: I forgot to mention, and it might be significant. This character didn't talk at all. I think there was a narrator, but the character himself never talked.
I think one was named Chloe and she had a sister and was not smart. The lead was the Black friend, I believe her dad had a baby with a new girlfriend and she resented taking care of the baby. The delinquent one was trying to turn her life around. I hate I donβt have more details.

The series was about a funny man with a weird and unusual name who did good deeds and random acts of kindness for people. One story I remember about him was a girl had broken her newly bought baby doll and she was obviously upset, so he "accidentally" spilled some coins on the ground and while she was picking them up he ran into the shop and bought her a new doll (the same one as the one she'd broken) then he pretended he magically fixed the doll by replacing the broken doll with the new one while her back was turned.

It's been bothering me for, at this point, decades, and I'm hoping someone here can help.
It was a BBC or ITV series, set in I think the late 1920s or 1930s in England. It aired in Australia in the late 90s or early 2000s when I saw it. A young woman (short dark hair, I think?) is engaged to a jerk and wants out but can't due to social and familial pressure. Her aunt is a quirky posh eccentric (I remember her blonde and curly haired but it's been a really long time) and wants to help her out of this marriage, so on the day of the wedding she makes sure the whole family finds her (the aunt) and the groom having s*x in what I remember being a greenhouse or sunroom, on a chair, and I think she was holding a bottle of liquor while sitting on his lap? The wedding was called off and the young woman was free. I don't think it was a solid comedy, I don't think the resolution was meant to be funny, but that scene is all I remember from watching the whole thing which is why it's been so hard to find. A few years ago, while I was in the UK, I became addicted to British dramas. I like that British TV series aren't so long like the American or Canadian ones. A season of a maximum of six episodes is more than enough to enjoy a good story. In my opinion, the British have chosen the best format to retain the viewer's attention. And except for the short season, there is also the gloomy atmosphere and the broken personalities which make you sympathize. I love that there is no clear line between good and evil, making British shows seem more realistic to me.
After watching Line of duty, I understood that British police drama is much more intense than other shows. The acting is persuasive on all accounts. I enjoyed the thin line between good and evil and how easily the main character crossed it to save his skin in the first season (my favorite, because of Lennie James' playing). But all stories have their twists and turns, keeping you on your toes all the time and making this show fascinating to watch.
I'd be thankful if you can advise something similar to Line of duty or Luther. Elba did a great job impersonating the self-destructive detective. And although I like Luther, my beloved character is Alice - the charming killer. She's so adorable, and their relationship is my favorite story in this show. I watched this show more than five times, I guess - whenever I can't find something interesting, I'm returning to it. Too bad that BBC iPlayer isn't available in Canada. I had to google how to use the VPN, and thanks to https://privacyhq.com/watch-bbc/canada/, I could enjoy British TV series after returning from the UK.
So I'm searching for a quality criminal drama, not necessarily the latest ones; it can be something from the two-thousandth or even the nineties, as long as it's something as intense as Luther or Line of Duty, with good acting and controversial main characters. I want to find the TV show I saw a trailer for recently. I think it was a coming of age/teenage show, and all I remember from the trailer is that there were a group of young people sitting on the promenade by a beach (or a similar concrete structure) and drinking alcohol together. It was shown fairly recently (last few months) and I think I would've seen it on BBC, ITV or Channel 4, but I'm really not sure about this. I thought it was an Irish or Welsh show but I'm not sure. It had a sort of "Derry Girls" feeling to it. Sorry about the vague description. Does anyone know what show this is?

Is anyone else having issues with the HBO Max app on Google TV? I got a new TCL 5-Series with Google TV and the HBO Max app constantly crashes, slows down, and forces me to restart my TV. Every other streaming app works totally fine and when I cast it instead it works great.

Hey there. So I used to love this cheesy British drama series, I seem to remember its name as "Oakville" but nothing comes up with that name on Google. It was a series set in a small town, there was a closeted gay pastor, an anorexic girl, an emo boy with dyslexia, some cunty woman named "Mercedes", among other things. It wasn't Misfits or Skins. Would appreciate it if any of you guys remember the name of this series + wouldn't mind knowing where I can watch it either. Thank you.

Recently a post on reddit had a clip where the contestant has to move a loop of wire across a squiggly wire and he decides to speed run it. I watched a few other clips then, one where they take drinks and one contestant has horrible drinks. And the other team has to guess who. Seemed like a fun show which I would check out later, but now I can't recall. A link to the post would be ideal, but just the show name would do. Thanks!
