A list of puns related to "Conjugate eye movement"
I learned this from Andrew Huberman, Ph.D., a professor at Stanford who studies how vision and our brains are interconnected.
EMDR seems to be the most popular treatment for PTSD I see referenced by providers on various platforms. This continues in the face of numerous dismantling studies which demonstrate the eye movements are essentially irrelevant and the mechanism of change is instead the exposure to trauma content. Dismantling studies compare separate components of effective treatments to help determine the mechanisms of change. Exposure-based treatments for anxiety-related disorders have long been considered the gold standard intervention. Hence, my genuine curiosity - why do people continue to disseminate and provide EMDR? There are exposure based treatments such as Prolonged Exposure (PE) and Cognitive Processing Therapy which are evidence-based and donโt include unnecessary components. Providing something else may waste time, money, delay client recovery and may even prevent people from seeking treatment due to the unusual nature of the therapy. Are providers just interested in doing something โinterestingโ or โdifferentโ? Are we not concerned about harm to clients by providing hokey or essentially unnecessary interventions whose theories now have a rocky foundation? I find this frustrating and would like to understand why. Eager to hear your thoughts.

When I stare at a wall or the ceiling or the sky for a while, I see all sorts of things. It looks like the world begins to melt and swirl, and I begin to see colors and shapes moving around; specifically a "grid" (its not uniform at all) of yellow, and a bright blue violet orb that looks like it is moving away only to return and loop. I also see green here and there. If I unfocus even more I can see so much that it dominates my vision, and the shimmering yellow begins to morph into images, such as a cat, various faces, windows... it's all very psychedelics in nature and if I succumb to it then it feels as though I could get sucked into it entirely. If I blink it goes away, but will come back strongly if I stay "unfocused". It feels like I am looking at another layer of reality and I get accompanied by the same emotions and sensations when I am meditating and trying to Astral Project.
I am a hedge rider and I have actively walked past the veil before and returned while in the woods but now I wonder if I truly am stuck between. I didn't ever really have intentions of returning fully but rather to stay with a foot in each world. However, being able to see these things, I have been able to since I was a teenager, it is only recently that I am paying more attention and using the skills I have learned to poke about it.
Can anyone else actively see this odd layer of reality?
...but I declined.
I have Hyperacusis, and have a cat scanned scheduled. When I move my eye to the left the ringing or woosh gets louder on left side. I hear a weird pulse in my left ear on and off.
Pain from sounds linger and goes down my neck
I noticed strange brain fog 5 years ago thatโs never gone away. Had vision issues in past with things moving that were stationary. Rarely happens and I have an issue with fainting.
Thoughts?
I know the difference between stp and svp, i just used te because it's shorter, thus easier to type.
When I would want to ask somebody a favor, you say s'il te plaรฎt, right? (yeah, informal, whatever)
What about if you don't want the favor right now, but you would want it in the future. I don't know how to say this in English, but here, we say "Kung gugustuhin mo lang naman", it's like saying, "you don't have to right now. if you would want do it later, then go ahead, if you won't want to, then it's fine."
Basically, kung gugustuhin mo lang naman is like s'il te plaรฎt but in the future. I'm not sure how you say it in English, but how would I do it in French? Could I say s'il te plaira?
Example: Il pleut trรจs fort maintenant. S'il te plaira, pourras-tu y aller pour ramener mon fils ?
How about ยซ รงa va ? ยป I wanted to ask a friend about how his day went yesterday, and not his day today or how he feels right now. I care about what happened in the past. How would I ask it? Could I ask ยซ รงa allait ? ยป (or ยซ รง'allait ? ยป
If I could not ask in the imparfait, could I answer in the imparfait instead? For example: โ รa va? โ รa allait trรจs bien hier. J'รฉtais trรจs heureux.
I never knew I would have to ask these kinds of questions, but I feel like sort of dumb. I have already a B2 level in French and I would want to push to C1, so I'm quite learning how to juggle and get a hold of verb tenses. At first I thought, "nah, that's illegal. they're fixed expressions" but French always surprises me with some rules that I wouldn't have thought of. So I would want to make sure. Sorry if the questions sound dumb.
I was just holding my phone in such a way, that clicking to open the app which was in the farthest top right of the screen was such an effort.
I wondered, will we soon be able to click the screen by looking with our eyes and then pressing and easy to reach button like the home button or maybe a button on the side?
Would it be possible? ๐ฆ
and does EMDR therapy have to take place in-person, not via video tele-health?
i dont think my current therapy is working out for me. many of the therapists in my area including mine are only doing virtual sessions due to the ongoing pandemic.
i havent done EMDR, but i am interested in trying.
is this something i could self-attempt on own, or is it something i have to sit down with the therapist?
I have this thing where If I attempt to scroll down a webpage but I did not click the page (ie the scroll does not happen) my eyes began to flex or respond like it "expected it to happen".
I know Cyberpunk got a lot of flak coming out of the gate, but damn I am having a great time a year later. I am not sure if this new content, but I am assuming it is original... I have never seen a game capture the subtly of subtle body and eye movement quite like this. Most games that try to capture it try too hard with over elaborate actions.
Jackie's death hit me quite hard because over the twenty-thirty minutes spent with him, I almost felt he was my best friend. When Vik told you that you had a death sentence, it was brought in harder that he wouldn't make eye contact with you. [/
These subtleties of human nature, a language we all speak but do not think of 90% of the time are immense in this experience we call a game.
Bravo to the producers, directors, artists, and actors.
The way I see it, if we keep doing what we're doing then nothing will ever change. It's going to take something monumental to change the tides in regards to the public's views on circumcision. We need something that could make national news and really get people talking. The protests happening now are great and I'm glad they're happening, but it's easy for the media to ignore them, meaning they only make local news.
It really angers me that the Netflix protests made national news and was a huge story, yet our protests rarely even make state news. It just feels like maybe something more could be done. Something more has to be done.
Flair of post might be innacurate due to the fact that I can't update it in multiple hours due to... sleep.
Someone recommended EMDR therapy for treating codependency.
Just curious if anyone else has tried it and if you have any useful advice.
Whether it was helpful, how to know if a therapist is properly qualified etc.
Is the โatriumโ another word for โdomusโ? If not, what is it and how can we conjugate it?
