Check competitor's hidden PBN backlinks? Has anyone tried Linxact out?

Dear r/SEO community,
I think that my SEO competition is using Private Blog Network backlinks that ahrefs and Majestic etc. don't show. Probably because they use PBNs which block ahrefs and Majestic's crawler. This practice has getting pretty annoying to me.

Appearently there is a tool called "Linxact Explorer" which allows you to exactly unmask those hidden PBN backlinks. They call themselves a hidden backlink checker. Here is a link to their website.

Has anyone any experience with Linxact? Are there other hidden backlink checkers? What methods do you use to unmask hidden PBN backlinks?

Best Regards,
diddyxking

Could I beat my low-quality backlink competitors by getting just one DA90?

So these competitors I am talking about have a Domain Authority of 45. But to be honest, most of their thousands of backlinks are just shitty links bought from fiverr, which pass no SEO juice. Moz shows they're even linked to by wikipedia. Turns out their brand is mentioned in a wikipedia article. But that doesn't pass SEO juice either, according to google.

I know both Semrush and Moz take into account silly backlinks which pass no seo juice to calculate Domain Authority metrics. (Eg: articles from wikipedia, backlinks bought from fiverr, etc).

So my questions are:

  1. How or with what tool could I really inspect and spy what SEO-juicy quality backlinks my competitors have?
  2. Do you think I could beat my competitors (based on what I've said; all the backlinks of theirs I've seen are crap) with just one real DA90? The thing is, I can get contextual backlinks from the main domain of my university (a real DA90) (The only thing is, they'd be inside PDFs, but as far as I know, links on public PDFs do count for SEO).

What do you think?

Required competitor backlinks

Is there any free tool for getting competitors backlinks? In bing webmaster, you get the details of anchor link and referring domain but not the exact backlink of competitor like ahrefs and semrush

If you have any idea, please let me know.

Competitor backlink profile question

Looking for some quick advice if possible please. I have been told to analyse the backlink profiles of our competition and aim to get every backlink possible for our site.

Our fiercest competitor has links in their backline profile that I personally believe to be spammy for example worldwidetopsite.com who offer to add a link to your site for a low fee. Checking using the moz domain tool though this site has a 67 DA and a surprisingly low spam score of 9%.

So the question is do I do as instructed and get this same backlink for our site as our competitor and move on or disagree that buying these links could be more harmful in the future?

Buying backlinks FOR competitors

There's so much information out there warning you that if you buy backlinks Google will penalize you and kill all of your traffic. If that's true, couldn't you just buy backlinks for your competitors to penalize them?

Can I backlink to my competitors?

Hi guys,

I am developing an information website about cryptourrences - what is the best hardware wallet? What is Moons crypto? How to buy Bitcoin? etc.

In one of my articles, I want to provide the backlink to "the best hardware wallet for long-term storage", but I don't have the article for this topic yet. My direct competitors have those articles.

The link here seems a natural embed and I would like to link to one of my competitors in order to attain the following benefits:

  1. The user will find usefulness in cicking that link at the time of writing that passage.
  2. Subsequently, I will be able to create the article on this topic and change the backlink from the link to the competitor to the link to my own article. (I link to many sites, and I plan to do these replacements for years to come.)

Should I create backlinks to my competitors? Is there anything bad about it for my SEO efforts?

I have noticed my competitors mainly rely on backlinks from link directories. Do these provide any value?

Hi there,

I am building an online directory for tattoo shops in the Netherlands. I have written some blogs and I did some competitor research to see where my competitors get their backlinks from (using Ahrefs free backlink checker).

As it turns out, 90% of my competitors' backlinks come from link directories; websites who don't seem to offer any value, but only link to tons of other website. Because they exchange backlinks (you link to me, and I link to you) they have quite a high domain authority.

As they are very niche specific, I am doubting whether I should also list my website in these link directories. But what I've learned from this sub is that these websites probably don't offer a lot of value.

What should I do?

Main competitor is a 25-year old website with a lot of backlinks but poor content. What should i focus on?

Early this month i started a new project, mostly because i stumbled upon a niche which i believe has a lot of potential. There are actually only two other players in the same niche - one is a personal (unmonetized) blog and the other one a website made in 90s which still looks like it's made in the 90s (very bad ux, random hyperlinks, no proper use of headers) which has hundreds of quality backlinks. This latter ranks #1 for a few keywords I want to compete for. I basically recreated two of their articles but with added content and SEO optimization. It's still too early for me to rank but i wonder whether i should just wait and be confident that i can outrank this website just by offering better optimized content, or should I attempt to do more backlinking?

To give Bear a big edge over competitors and be unique, have developers ever considered adding backlinks ?

It's used in apps like Obsidian (which otherwise are of little interest for me) and sometimes referred to as the Zettelkasten method

After all, it's what google was started with.

thank you

Trying to start linkbuilding using my competitors backlinks as a starting point and it's going bad

I have a unique niche making custom embroidered patches. I've been using SEMrush to dig into my competitors to see if I could use their backlinks as a bit of a launch pad. 99.99% of the links they have aside from local news websites are garbage. One in particular dominates the industry.

This is making it seem like finding relevant niche websites will be a lot harder than I thought. I've been trying to think outside the box and find websites for paintball and more masculine team activities that have regular team meet ups to steer towards the patches. 95% of my customer base is men.

I'm extremely new to doing SEO for myself but get the basics and I'm learning and reading more every day. I will be outsourcing everything in the future, but I want to learn basic things so I can make sure who I hire is doing what they say they're doing.

Are there more obvious things I can be doing to find more relevant high authority sites in my niche to attempt to get backlinks from?

It's so unfair, the contents on 6 domains both belong to one person and are about selling one product. And not one but two competitors do things like that. They are all on page 1 and 2. What should I do?

How to do keyword research? What are the important factors for keywords to rank better than competitors? Also how to get the backlinks?

I have been reading and watching some videos of Neil Patel and Brian Dean. There is a ton of information and I got so confused! I want to know what is the best way to do keyword research. I tried with google keyword planner, Ubbersuggest, google trends, and a few others. I want to learn how to do it. If my competitor has domain authority of more than 70 then is it possible to beat them with similar keywords.

New competitor constant seems to effortlessly acquiring backlinks on large sites (media, .edu) - how?

A competitor of ours that literally came out of nowhere a year ago is, no exaggeration, weekly gaining backlinks on some powerful sites, including media and educational institutions.

There's no way this could be the work of one single person running a blog.

So my question is: how? Are there agencies (legit, non-spammy ones) out there that get these kinds of links through their own channels/outreach for the right price?

Is it harmful to backlink to your competitors?

Hi there, I've been running a blog for over a year now which has grown a lot in terms of organic traffic. My site editor does a lot of healthy internal linking between relevant articles but I noticed in some of the backlinks she has actually referenced one of my SEO competitors for the same blog niche, which is a few spots above me in rankings.

This may be a silly question but is it harmful to my site's position to backlink to them? Or would Google possibly see this as higher value to my own site, due to the value of the competitor's reference?

Thanks!

Competitor used Black Hat methods to get ranked 1 for keywords. 130k backlinks on a new website?

I recently discovered my competitor had purchased 130,000 Backlinks since May of this year when his website came out.

He is ranking 1- 7 for our company name. 10 for our industry, in a very competitive nationwide niche.

When I looked on hrefs and SEMrush I discovered they had 130k Backlinks (99% Do follow) from different spammy sites. When I look at the websites they’re very basic with just the keywords and anchor text.

I reported it to google, but these guys are costing me a lot of revenue. I thought Google’s Algorithm would catch this. Is there anything I could do? Should I just fight fire with Fire?

How to analyze the QUALITY of the backlink profile of my competitors? Is Domain authority a useful metric at all?

I would like to estimate how SEO-viable certain niches are. what really counts for that matter are backlinks. The thing is, all the popular marketing tools out there use the domain authority metric in a biased way

For instance, I know both Semrush and Moz take into account silly backlinks that pass no seo juice to calculate Domain Authority metrics. (Eg: articles from wikipedia, backlinks bought from fiverr, etc).

Where or How could I inspect the quality of the REAL SEO-JUICY backlinks of a domain?

I think that's the only way to really tell the SEO- viability of a niche
