About a month or two after the 2018/19 season concluded and we watched Clemson walk away with the Natty and fast food buffet, I messaged the mods asking for permission to float an idea to this sub. That idea was a College Gameday-esque show made by, and for, /r/CFB fans and members. They discussed it and ultimately gave me the green light to post this. To be clear, and to echo a portion of their response, it should be noted that this proposal is NOT an official /r/CFB post and the mods have nothing to do with it. It is merely a proposal for something that I believe this sub has the power, and hopefully willingness, to produce for the entertainment of the 500,000+ members that frequent here. This post may fall on deaf ears due to it being posted early morning on a Sunday, but hopefully not.
Keep in mind that the following isn't some ultimatum for formatting, it was merely my attempt to lay a groundwork for all the aspects of running a show like this. This initial post is meant for discussion/feedback/400 IQ big brain ideas in order to decide if: 1) /r/CFB users are interesting in this idea, and 2) how feasible it would be to pull it off. Now to the good stuff.
WHY/WHAT/WHERE
I only found this subreddit about 3 years ago, but it became apparent early on that the userbase is undeniably an interesting and funny group. It's obvious that College Gameday is a staple for college football fans, but a lot of the time the corporate powers that be keep what is and isn't broadcast -worthy on a tight, Disney-owned leash. I loved the idea of a more unmoderated version of the show that could cover not only the familiar, classic college football scene, but also offer content/segments that are more curated towards, and by, /r/CFB and the things/posts that /r/CFB enjoys. Tired of a million commercials? Great, so am I, and now they're gone and replaced with a segment on the Imperialism Map, croots, trivia, or even a custom weekly segment based on whatever was the highest voted by /r/cfb users for whatever campus we were on that week.
