A list of puns related to "Capital One Tower"
Thread's OP has clear views, but not everyone is on board:
I was having a conversation recently with a new acquaintance who says that he is a long time resident of Austin. He was telling me that there used to be a city ordinance that no new building in Austin could be built taller than the UT Tower (or the Capital building; he could not remember.) I was just wondering if someone on this Subreddit who is a longtime resident of Austin knows if that is true or not?
I preordered both Peace Talks and Battle Ground back in March. I selected that they be autographed and also Personalized. Two extra fees for each book.
I moved in June and notified Bard's Tower of this well before Peace Talks came out and gave them my new address and asked them to please change the address in their records for both books. I got a reply form them acknowledging that they had updated my address for both orders.
When Peace Talks came out, they shipped the book to the old address instead of the new address. In addition, instead of an autographed, personalized book, I got a flimsy almost card-like insert, though it was in fact signed and personalized as requested. I had never received any notification that the book would not actually be signed. They did send me an email when they shipped it with tracking information or I would never have been able to retrieve the book.
After having a hassle tracking down and finally getting the book which had been sent to someplace I no longer lived, I notified Bard's Tower that they had sent the book to the wrong address. I (for the second time) gave them my correct new address and asked them to be sure that Battle Ground was shipped to the correct address. They acknowledged the email.
Battle Ground was released At the end of September. A month later I began sending them repeated emails asking when the book would be shipped, and for the third time gave them my correct new address.
Another month went by and I got no responses to several emails, no shipping notification, and no book.
Finally, a few days ago I emailed them one last time asking when the book would ship and pointing out that I had gotten no kind of notification. They emailed me back with one line giving the tracking information. When I used the tracking number they sent me on Dec 2, it showed that the book had been shipped on Nov 18 and of course, it was shipped to my old address instead of the address I had sent them 3 times and they had acknowledged receiving the new address twice.
Because they sent the book by USPS media mail, the post office did not forward the book to me, and without the tracking number, I would never have received it. Using the tracking number, I opened an inquiry with USPS on the package. Two days later, my mailman delivered it to me. (Today, Dec 4).
I opened the book looking for the signature. This book also was not signed but had the flimsy almost card-like insert in the book, but with just Jim Butcher's signature.
... keep reading on reddit β‘Title says it all really. I've noticed on a few screenshots that some people have a mix if the two towers. Is there a reason to do this.
Personally, I only use the larger towers. They have more slots and a higher storage capacity. What am I missing?

I finally received a somewhat answer to the credit game. I called Capital One (credit card department) and asked them (since they are the issuers of the card and decisions of credit limit increases) How to use the card (according to them) so that I can get a credit limit increase. I was told to use it but not to use it too much. ??? So I asked what does that mean? I was given the under 30% answer. I then informed them that I had 2 recurring small bills on there, so I always stay under 30%. I was then informed that, that would not work because they want to see usage of the card when considering limit increases. So my new game plan is to use it daily for small purchases, and once it reaches 28% pay it off and continue once the payment posts. The only exception to this is that, I am going to make to this plan is to pay completely off 3 days before the due date each month, and wait on the new cycle to begin. I will see if this works faster. I will post updates in a month or so.
Basically title. I'm annoyed I was switched to a card with a fee, for no reason. I don't see a difference in the cards (can someone point this out to me?)
Edit: culprit was found. Thanks for the help. I added an AU (authorized user) and though they never carried a balance, they maxed the card every other month due to spending cycles not syncing.
I'll decide this week whether to cancel.
