If this were a drinking game I'd be dead in 10 minutes after any overly paid consultant talks this word salad
Are MSO Retail sales a moat?
Is selling other mfgrs products in your store a moat?
Is selling 100% your product in your FLA stores a moat?
If brands are the moat, how about disclosing your branded product sales. $GTII does $CURA $TRUL $CL $TER β¦ do not.
Moat, Generational Wealth, Total Addressable Market⦠buzzword bingo from sell side advertisers that retail investors parrot without fully understanding.
Use math to understand what they actually are and mean.
Generational Wealth: Seriously, tell me your path to $1 million in gains. (Is $1 million generational?) What do you have to risk relative to your net worth, now and over time, to achieve it?
With volatility of the stocks presently and with end state undefined⦠the returns better be big.

I got hit up by a recruiter on a certain website today through their In-Mail. It seemed harmless enough at first, but little did I know that I was about to embark on a 45 minute voyage to a level of writing that I didn't know was possible. Seriously, I think they ran this through some sort of artificial intelligence bot to spit out something that sounds really "techy". I'm actually quite impressed at the level of detail contained within that conveys absolutely no useful information whatsoever.
Now, a little background. I'm a network security engineer; primarily a Juniper SRX SME. I've been a Juniper SME for over 10 years, so when I receive messages I kinda expect them to be about Juniper, or at least Cisco, networking equipment. I know that's asking a lot, but I guess I have standards that are too high. So, when I receive the following message, I was at least thinking it actually had to do with network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls).
>I am doing a search for a Sr. Network Engineer and your profile came up in my search. Your background looks like it might be a really good fit. This position is in CITY with one of our top clients. The main scope of work will is The Infrastructure Engineer role is responsible for the operations of secure and highly available computing platforms, servers, and networks. They will install, maintain, upgrade, and continuously improve Clients operating environment to ensure peak performance and availability. This includes monitoring the operating environments; responding to incidents, problems, and planning for growth; and are also responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of the site-based and corporate data cabinets and centers. If you are open and want to hear more about it, Id love to send you the job description and set up a chat. Thanks for your time
I replied to the guy telling him that I was in the market, but since he had given me no information on the position, it would be hard to tell him if I was interested are not. I asked him for a job description. What I received was the longest piece of technobabble gibberish I've heard since the Turboencabulator. And here, for your viewing pleasure, or displeasure, I present the "job description"...

I've been in the industry for about a decade and picked this cert up the other day to meet an IAT qualification. It wasn't really difficult but I can't help but feel that the whole test was basically buzzwords and acronyms.
Half the questions read like: > If you have MIPS with ATC without a QUL in a PIM, can you DTR your APM?
Those are all made up acronyms but the point still stands. If the question would be easily answerable if you knew what the acryonym stood for (with an acronym lookup sheet) then the question is garbage.
Another thing is all the arbitrary subclasses of terms that aren't really used in real life, are basically made up, or verbally sound the same so you can't even communicate the difference.
I'd like to propose a new term. Turbo Whalingβ’. Turbo Whalingβ’ is when you phish for CEOs - but only of fortune 500 companies AND only on Sundays.
Another thing is remembering port numbers. Google exists and you can look this stuff up. Additionally, you can run whatever you want on any port you want and so can everyone else. Memorizing this stuff isn't a particularly useful way for people to spend their time.
Then you get questions in the vein of "which of these techniques would crack the MOST passwords in a collection of hashes consisting of random passwords."
Where the answer is somehow rainbow table... even though a brute force will always get all passwords with enough time.
Eh, I'm probably just a bit salty but the whole thing seemed silly.

I've updated the Buzzword Bingo Bot with some improvements.
The highscores no longer reflect my scores. I can post a win, but it won't be recorded.
Posters should not be able to score off their own posts.
I've added a few new commands. You can use a URL and the text from it will be scored, like so:
!BuzzwordBingo https://www.cnbc.com/2018/03/15/bitcoins-fall-may-be-due-to-tax-selling.html
You can also set a temporary score to win, in case the default is too high but you hate losing, like so:
!BuzzwordBingo score 6
I still have to prevent duplicate entries in the leaderboards but decided tie scores are okay, like an arcade game; code to check a link in the title and score that; and a few other changes.
Feedback, death threats, backrubs, etc. always welcome.
The current version of the Buttcoin Buzzword Bingo Bot is done and being run a couple times a day. New commands "haiku" and "koan" working, e.g. "!BuzzwordBingo haiku".
For anyone interested in writing their own bot or modifying it to play Buzzword Bingo on some other sub(s) with custom keywords, the source is available at: https://github.com/ButtcoinBuzzwordBot/bot
If any Python gurus have time to look at the code and give feedback, it's most welcome. Note that it's written with a beginner in mind.
Guides:
[How to get started writing your own bot in Python.] (https://gist.github.com/ButtcoinBuzzwordBot/10412a2595fb6a20c64bb7bc0c19f4fc)
[How to customize your own copy of the bot.] (https://gist.github.com/ButtcoinBuzzwordBot/3e1a6181abc95d5ce89734b74c1c7b60)
Next up is MySQL support. I'm also thinking of creating another OOP version of the script to move the koans and haiku functionality to, and to replace Snappy (it'll reply randomly to say, every 5-ish posts rather than every one.) Also considering writing an Erlang version if I can write a PRAW replacement.
Got the go-ahead from the mods to run the Buttcoin Buzzword Bingo Bot on /r/buttcoin.
To use it, just reply to any post with a lot of buzzwords (unfortunately, doesn't work on links right now but I hope to add that functionality) with "!BuzzwordBingo" anywhere in the message.
I'll run it a couple times a day, and it'll reply with win/lose messages. I'll be adding dynamic scoring and high scores ASAP. If anyone has any issues or complaints with it, please contact me directly.
Apologies for 2nd post on subject but wanted everyone to get a chance to play.
Let the mining of buzzword comedy gold begin!
I'm done with a refactoring of data stores and it's saving scored comments. This will prevent rescoring posts that have already been played, and now it can only be played off other people's posts. I've also removed the command to score links, as that was just way too easy.
I'll be testing it to scrape pages when a direct link is put in the title (aka Link to Comedy Gold) and will be adding MySQL and SQLite storage this weekend.
Let the competition commence! Or hopefully people will remember it exists, at least.
!BuzzwordBingo highscores
... to keep us amused tomorrow as our friends and allies from across the pond make their presence known. Shout-out to sub members who came up with the idea, you know who you are, you smart fellows.
Use mine or make your own to play along at home. The prize? There is no prize. This is all really happening.

The Buttcoin Buzzword Bingo Bot is ready to go.
To invoke it, reply with "!BuzzwordBingo" to a post, crosspost or comment that has a lot of buzzwords that are particular to buttcoins specifically (not business, finances, etc.) I'll be keeping the lists of words and phrases secret to make it more of a challenge, and will keep adding to them.
If you link to an article or website, you'll need to copy the text over before replying. Using 'tldrbot' can help.
If you want to see the top five highscores, reply with "!BuzzwordBingo highscores". I may expand to 10, will see.
The minimum score to win is dynamic. It increases with each win, decreases with each loss. It starts at 4 and can go as high as 12.
I'll run the bot a couple times a day. If it's popular, I'll get to hosting it somewhere. Enjoy!
Still waiting to hear from the mods for an A-OK but I figured I'd announce this now to get feedback, in particular from people who don't like bots.
I've designed it to be fairly limited: it has to be invoked (it doesn't autoreply) and I don't intend to run it more than a few times a day for now (i.e. it's not running as a daemon on a server yet.)
The idea is that when you see a post full of Buttcoin Buzzwords, you can reply with "!BuzzwordBingo" and the bot will score matches and reply with a win/loss. I've got it working fairly well with crossposts and a few other cases, but I'm sure there's a couple bugs I'll need to work out still.
I've tested it a few times and have noticed a few downvotes, so I'm looking to make it as friendly as possible. It was mainly an excuse to write some Python code to freshen up, but my intention is for it to generate Comedy Gold, not annoy. I might also expand it to tip some cheap shitcoin to winners, maybe, if I can be bothered to find one and figure out how to use it. Doge and Garlic come to mind.
