A list of puns related to "British N gauge"
Revolution trains have recently announced a third livery for their IPA car carriers in N gauge, Groupe CAT blue. These are in very limited supply and are selling out fast, only 100 sets are being produced. They sell for Β£103.75+p&o and for anyone missing out on ordering the first 2 liveries this is a vital second chance. Donβt waste any time getting these, as they are selling out! Here is a link to the order page - the models should be ready and delivered to wherever you are by July. http://www.revolutiontrains.com/product/ipa-car-carriers-quad-wagon-sets/
Note - this is not a product promo but a PSA as this model is in great demand and I know people who have missed out before
Is there a good place to get British N gauge stock in the US?
One of the first Thomas The Tank Engine related channels that caught my interest was "The Unlucky Tug," who is well known for his timelines and railway maps that piece the series lore and events together.
He also has an interest in model trains, as he has his own collection of OO gauge models he has customized and painted based of the characters and their baises. It amazing work he has done and he has some videos on how he did them.
Then I wondered about British O gauge which is 1:43 scale, which is larger then North American 1:48 scale and wondered if TTTE or the railway series could be modeled in this scale.
It would be costly due to O gauges expense, although manufacturers like dapol and Heljin are creating mass produced models for better prices then what O gauge used to be as ai have heard.
There are not that many models of the basises used altough some like the A3, A4, Class 40 etc do exist. Painting and detailing would need to take time since these are expensive and well detailed. Tug added the BR crest on his models so placing that and where the engines nunbers would go is anotherball game tha has to be figured out.
What do you all think?
The LBMA has admitted to a submission error, amounting to 3,300 tonnes of silver in March, in a stunning breech of transparency and competency.
We need UK residents help who can write to the British regulator about the LBMA.
We also need to gauge numbers, incase we need to write to British Members of Parliament about this misconduct, as there's a high chance this is in the public interest.
I read somewhere that American and British N-Gauge were of a slightly different scale. I currently live in the US, and have a loop of N-scale track, but plan on purchasing and running UK stock.
Will I be able to use the US track with the UK stock? As a sidenote, does anyone know of a US supplier of UK trains?
So, I'm thinking of switching over to N gauge soon and there's a few things I'd like to get cleared up in advance.
Mainly, I'm a little daunted by the power situation compared to how easy it is to get started with OO. I'm going to be using DC and I'd especially like to use a Gaugemaster controller (probably the GMC-D). At this stage I'm not looking to power any points or accessories. What's the easiest way to connect this controller up to N gauge track without the need for soldering etc.?
It seems easy enough to just screw wires into the block on the back of the controller, but what's the simplest way to feed this into the track? I've seen that Peco sell fishplates pre-soldered to wires which can then be extended using terminal blocks... I'm assuming that this is a suitable basic setup but I can't find many guides on entry-level N gauge power to be sure of this.
I'm going to be making a layout on a board that's somewhere in the region of 6x3 and 7x4, double track continuous run, and with some sidings etc. (haven't finalised any specific designs, however). I'll be running modern image stock predominantly.
I think the biggest shock when I started looking into N gauge was the lack of starter sets on the UK market... if you don't want to use Unitrack, there's very little choice to get started with right off the bat. I don't mind getting the controller, track, trains etc. individually; I just wish there was some clearer advice on what to do after that.
I've been looking to buy a Kerr Stuart Wren-class, and cannot for the life of me find anyone who makes one, or even anything remotely like it. Does anybody know of a manufacturer who makes such a model, or something similar? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Edit: Thanks for the help everyone!
Does anyone know where I can find a 303. British headspace no-go gauge in stock? Everywhere I see is either out of stock or like a 7 month back order.
Hi. Apologies if this is not the right sub but this is all new to me. Iβve read the rules about no sales and Iβm definitely not selling just looking for guidance.
My Dad passed away recently and trains were his passion. I have his model railway and have been asked to sell it. Is it a case of eBay or are there any sites I can contact/look at who would buy it all as one lot.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
