A list of puns related to "Breathy voice"
Shadowlands storytelling has been marred by this overdramatic voice acting the entire expansion. Nothing carries weight because characters speak their lines the same whether there's a small set back or a massive one.
Just look at the way Uther and Sylvanas converse in the new cinematic.
"Nevereeuughh in a thousand lifetimesuuhh would I betray EVERYTHING i stood foreuuh"
"When iiuugh realized I had become hiiiihhss paawwwhhnnn, it neeaahhrrly destroyed meeeuuhhg"
I understand we want these moments to be emotionally impactful, but everything is so over the top that it sounds hilarious instead.
Hereβs a perfect example.
Evangelists adopting a shared speaker style isnβt a new thing. Southern televangelists have always done the nearly-out-of-breath dogmatic style forever. Iβm just trying to think of where this newer one comes from.
Would love help describing it. Itβs like breathy and feigned concern mixed with full on emotional manipulation. On one hand it has this tone thatβs reminiscent of D.A.R.E. ads where someoneβs like βHey, man, Iβm not saying youβre a bad guy, but I need to call you out on this.β So, like bad faith confrontation thatβs doing the βitβs just cause I care about youβ part out of protocol.
On the attempt-to-inspire side, itβs more forced ponderous, like that guy that read one book on spirituality and joined the drum circle to pick up women. Itβs like trying to be deep in a safe way that doesnβt take any risks that people might take your words seriously since you can say you were just wondering out loud.
But then, I just wonder if thereβs somewhere else in culture this shows up or showed up first and became the pattern for how to talk like youβre the good guy just sayinβ. It doesnβt matter if your words are dumb or harmful, youβre just a nice guy trying to be nice with some opinions you have.
I find when I sing breathily I can hit pitches better and really just sound better but I know itβs not good for you and poorly manages air. Is there a way to get this same breathy tone properly
I don't want to post a recording because I'm too self-conscious, but my voice sounds really "breathy" and almost like I'm talking with spit in my mouth or like I've just finished a run or workout.
I've tried to find people talking about this and what to do about it but haven't been able to find anything anywhere, maybe I'm looking for the wrong things but i hope someone knows what I'm talking about and can give me some advice.
(Also i posted this like an hour ago and it got removed idk why if your like an admin removing this or something pls tell me why)
I was wondering. Happened to me recently.
I'd been a shy guy all the way to age 18-19 so I imagine self esteem plays a role here (I'm 22 now). But on most days, I feel a physical weakness and inability to have a full voice (even when I'm on my own).
Some mornings I wake up after very long sleep, or when having a sore throat, and upon saying "good morning" I realize how deep my voice is that day. I get that booming voice effortlessly. But after a day or a few, I wake up to be informed that the magic is gone, and once again I sound like a 100 year old.
I've noticed that a lifestyle that promotes high testosterone production (high raw fat diet, sunbathing naked, long sleep) generally makes my voice deeper, and conversely, fatigue and digestive issues make it much worse.
I'm wondering what else I can do, and what concretely is the problem, and if anybody else has the same experience. I really feel like an invalid most days. Life is so much nicer when you actually sound like a man and not like a corpse.
I received 1.25 units of Botox in my left vocal cord on 5/14, with the onset of extremely breathy voice beginning on 5/17. As I'm writing this (5/20), I'm still experiencing breathy voice and it's causing me distress! I know this is a normal side effect of Botox, though I haven't personally had this before (I've had 2 injections prior to this one). I'm a psychologist and I felt like I was virtually incapacitated this week.
For others out there, I'm wondering how long the breathy voice period lasts for you? I've seen everything from "a few days" to "several weeks" in my Google searching, but I'd like to hear more personal experiences! Thanks to anyone who might reply π
No I don't want to buy your crappy CD of covers now get out my way so I can shop in peace.
I swear people slowly singing pop songs in public with an acoustic guitar is this decades version of the panflute epidemic.
Has anyone had this issue when they try to speak in their normal deep voice it sounds weak and breathy? This happens to me and because of this people still find it hard to hear me sometimes.
Just curious if others have experienced this as well and how they dealt with it
I'm a contralto who has only been singing for a year. I have a significantly powerful chest voice, vocal agility, and vibrato for the VERY short time I've been singing and I really take pride in that but although I still work on every part of my voice, I've just been struggling with the breathiness of my head voice and in turn mix voice. The contrast between my pure tone powerful chest voice and my hissing breathy mix voice is just terrible. I have been doing vocal exercises to try to work on this and I haven't noticed much improvement. Some, but not much. Should I be concerned? As you work on your head voice, does this breathiness just go away with time? If I just keep singing in my head voice and doing these vocal exercises, should it just go away as my voice strengthens naturally OR is there a particular technique I should use? Note that the breathiness is MOSTLY audible with my mix/head vibrato.
Anyone knows how to prevent a breathy speaking voice? I read that it is something about the vocal chords not closing but how do we close it when speaking?
I'm breathing deep and trying to use breath support but it seems too much air is coming out while speaking and so the voice still sounds breathy and weak
Hi does anyone notice that Gerd changes your voice and makes it weaker and more breathy over time and has anyone managed to overcome this?
It's almost Irish or Scottish in it''s feel but certainly not overtly. The song the movie was in a character had died that was big to the characters in the end scene.
It's a slow song, not a lot of instrumentals besides her singing, her voice kind of creates its own melody.
Definitely from the early 2000s or before, feels more 90s ish but I guess it could be 80s too.
Hard glottal attack surely make me strains but it get rid of the breathiness, but sticking to this technique will make it look like trying hard to sing and I surely will crack and wobble in high part of the songs especially in bruno mars key.
Without glottal attack, I really feel breathy when singing G4-C5 even tho it feels free and no tightness it undoubtedly will dries out my vocal folds much faster.
My question is what kind of technique is that exactly that most people keep talking about "You should have a good technique to stop wearing out your voice faster"?
I just had to stop a good novel because the audiobook-narrator had like 10 litres of spit in his mouth, you could literally hear how wet his speech was, and after every few sentenes he was slurping spit back in his mouth.
"Captainsh Millersh lishtened Sluuurp to tcheee incomingch reshports Sluurp and tssschaught about..."
I'm grinding my teeth as I type this. It's the same crap they pull for Panera
Hi!
So I'm very fond of "breathy" voices (so by /u/junh1024 called in this thread), perhaps akin to "sweet voice" (ηγε£°)? Or perhaps not. Nonetheless, it doesn't seem like there's an easy way to "search" for such singers, perhaps because I don't know of any definitive term for the singing style neither in japanese nor in english. So, does anyone know of any singers like these or a compilation/playlist of sorts?
Some of the singers I'm familiar with, which I think at least partially "qualifies" for the criterion. Spotify links embedded. Aoi Teshima is my favorite by far - almost all her songs are excellent; many of the others only have a few songs which fits the description.
Her chest voice was way too breathy and broken in the tour. At times you couldn't even recognize it was her! The whistles were nice and all, but the tone was bad. If you compare 2005 to 2006 she sounds so different. What's your opinion about her voice condition in the Adventures Of Mimi?
Hi people, does anyone know what the name of this band is: I think the band has/had 3 members, the lead singer was a kind of androgynous girl with red hair (her hair was βswoopyβ, kind of reminds me of Jimmy Neutronβs hair) and she had a really breathy voice? The band was pretty popular a few years ago, and I believe they had a few hits. Hopefully that is enough information...I cannot think of their name or how any of the songs went, but I can picture the lead singer vividly.
I can't sing in mixed voice with my own voice quality because it's very breathy (feels cold and bad in throat and sounds weak) unless I intentionally enter mixed while maintaining vocal fry but even my cords feel abducted in that manner, the voice that im using doesn't sound like me at all or doesn't sound good when use it in singing (seems like just an exercise) but doesn't help because when I try again to slide from chest to mixed with my natural voice, still it's breathy and feels hurt in the vocal folds like it's gonna swell up because of lots of air going through the folds.
Any help in this particular problem? I don't think liptrills can provide solution to this one, It helps me prevent straining but didn't provide any good cord closure to me at all especially at mixed voice even I already connect chest and mixed from warming up lip trills.
The video took place in a club with alot of sweaty jumpy people, i realise that's every club song but there was a lot of blue lighting, I remember seeing it on the TV so I'm hoping it was in the charts at that time, for some reason I keep thinking the artist had a similar name to Method Man the rapper like something-man electric or minute man but I can find any artist with that name
It's a fine voice type, but I just wish there was some vocal variety among the male voices in LTYH. Like, I wanna hear a guy belt, ya know? The girls seem to have a decent mix of divas and lounge voices, but the guys not so much.
And why don't the women ever pick up a guitar during duets? Can women not play instruments in the bachelor universe?
Does singing breathy or raspy damage your voice? I was singing breathy/raspy last night and my throat still hurts a little.
I make music and I wanna have a chance to keep up with industry level artists, doing everything on your own is very difficult because I know you can only teach yourself so much but vocal coaching can be expensive.. can anyone help?
Idk how to explain but when i sing i have like a breathy voice like the same sensation when you whisper so I wanna know how to get rid of it so my voice sounds fuller
Right now Iβm watching the English dub for Beyond the Boundary also known as Kyoukai no Kanata and I want to bitch slap the director who told Miraiβs VA to live in a helium tank
Hello guys,
So i work on my voice alot. What i am constantly doing is pushing my chestvoice up. I can sing Chest up to an A4. But i dont want to scream my notes anymore. So i try mixing them. But it sounds really weird and breathy sometimes (especially around c4-e4). Also i am breaking alot around a4 when i sing in mixed because it's so breathy. I am a Baritone. Or Baritenor. Idk about a lot of vocal types. But i really want to get a strong mix that doesnt sound like i change my whole voice and sound to breathy. Any Tips for strengthen the mixed voice and for not beeing to breathy?
Thank u in advanced.
I'm a 15 year old male, I'm interested in learning how to sing and I've taken some criticism from some of my friends, most of the criticism was my head voice was really airy, shaky and breathy and I would usually run out of breath (I am able to comfortably hit my notes without straining or screaming). I usually prefer to sing high and it feels comfortable to sing high to me (A4 is my highest note, C3 is my lowest chest note). I'm curious what vocal excerises I would need to take
Suicide-Sioux aside, sue as I'd sue a side: Suez-side, Sue, as sighed.
