Hi folks!

I spent an interesting evening getting griefed by Driss yesterday (we had safely escaped the zone with our base walker). We rejoined for information's sake, hoping there were some allies on hand. Thanks for your response, Crimson Crossblades, The Other Guys, et al.! Nice to know someone's out there, and sorry for the bumps and bruises you picked up fighting.

A couple observations:

Chat is mega exploitable. Two major issues popped up: one is wiping the (weirdly-unscrollable) chat window by spamming nonsense. One is people saying you're spreading disinfo or you're part of a clan you aren't.

The chat window needs a UI pass that allows it to be scaled, scrolled, etc. with relative ease. An in-game report function would be nice for reasons I'll get into later on, but with voicechat being so prevalent, it's pretty hard to do that without having your finger on the 'Record' button at all times. It also needs to recognize attempts to spam and automatically moderate the chat.

Also, clan info needs to be displayed in-chat. It's basically unacceptable to be able to say 'Hey, Driss are all around the permafab and my ship is burning' and have a bunch of folks who are clearly in the Driss clan say 'driss is wiped, zone is now safe'.

Mechanically speaking, those are major issues and they need some help; communication is of real importance in games like this and there's a lot of very exploitable stuff in-game right now.

Secondly, if anyone actually a part of Driss is in here: folks, you should get your house in order.

I dig shit-talking. That's whatever; the dude who managed to loot my wingsuit after destroying my ship is enjoying his spoils; I actually kinda enjoyed getting cut down, having the guy fly up in the air carrying me with my own suit, and dropping me to death while I was down. The fact that that's possible is fucking colossal, and without saying a word other than 'Thanks for the wingsuit!' it's pretty fantastic shit-talking.

Carrying a downed trans person into the middle of your 20-man raid and heckling them for their whole down-time is pretty shit, though, especially with such choice phrases as:

• imagine white knighting for a tranny
• do you know that the whole world thinks you're a faggot?
• feet pics

...and plenty of others.

One of them said 'oh shit, she really is a tranny' but hey, he got my gender right. Good for you, man. :)
