A list of puns related to "Body of Evidence (novel)"
The story can be read here: https://www.foxnews.com/world/world-health-organization-january-tweet-china-human-transmission-coronavirus
My question is: Did the Chinese authorities lie to the WHO or could it be possible that they knew about the virus and still believed there was no human to human transmission? Personally I find it hard to believe the Chinese authorities did not know about this considering:
Then the further question is: how much blame does this place on the Chinese government for the current predicament the world finds itself in?
The United States is three years into the spike in adoption of police body cameras and studies show some unexpected results.
Rather than focus on the use of the cameras themselves, I'm really curious about the specific policies related to their use, because they vary greatly from state to state, which should provide us with some data about what works and what doesn't, but I'm not able to find anything.
Some of the ways in which the policies vary are the time non-evidentiary video is kept; limits on recording victims, witnesses, or private situations; and whether an officer may view video before making report or statement.
One of the biggest issues is how and when the footage should be released. According to the National Conference of State Legislatures, laws in some states treat body camera recordings as public records, but provide standards and many caveats for when police may withhold, redact or obscure certain videos. Laws in other states exclude body-worn camera footage from open record requests, but provide several exceptions that enable access to videos by specific persons or for specific situations.
The goal of these provisions is to be transparent in law enforcement without unnecessarily infringing on privacy, because many crime victims and witnesses who cooperate with police, as well as peaceful protestors, do not want to be filmed. This also affects the decision to make such recordings continuous or allow officers to turn the cameras on and off, which is another issue of hot debate.
So, is there evidence that any particular mix of policies incentivizes better outcomes, such as less police misconduct, better community relations with law enforcement, and more justified prosecutorial decisions? If not, are there studies in progress looking at these issues? The variety of policies in place seems like a nearly ideal situation to examine their effects.
I can't find any mention of this happening online.
The relevant text:
The works of the roots of the vines, of the trees, must be destroyed to keep up the price, and this is the saddest, bitterest thing of all. Carloads of oranges dumped on the ground. The people came for miles to take the fruit, but this could not be. How would they buy oranges at twenty cents a dozen if they could drive out and pick them up? And men with hoses squirt kerosene on the oranges, and they are angry at the crime, angry at the people who have come to take the fruit. A million people hungry, needing the fruit β and kerosene sprayed over the golden mountains. And the smell of rot fills the country. Burn coffee for fuel in the ships. Burn corn to keep warm, it makes a hot fire. Dump potatoes in the rivers and place guards along the banks to keep the hungry people from fishing them out. Slaughter the pigs and bury them, and let the putrescence drip down into the earth. (238)
From season 8, episode 17
Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but I didn't see anything from a google search.
Thought this seems like a good point towards the toby is the scranton strangler.

Currently a fan of this one but the guy hasnβt updated in like 5 years+ so I was hoping for another one or even just an article detailing someoneβs experiences with this method.
If you havenβt seen his blog, the method revovles around jumping into reading adult novels (I donβt mean it in a sexual context. Just big boy books with no pictures) really really early in the language learning phase. He does pretty much no grammar work after the first few weeks and seems to switch between extensive and intensive, regardless of his actual language proficiency. Itβs an interesting idea that I would like to follow but sometimes I get afraid that it isnβt working that well.
Currently a B1-B2ish Japanese student and so while I can read a few paragraphs with no problem from a detective crime novel, there are always parts that throw me off and I just canβt parse em. That makes me unsure of this strategy so any links or success stories that you guys can provide would be cool!
Edit: forgot that a key component is keeping a translation of the novel close at hand so you can get through those tough parts.
Since we know the trial theory was a complete sham and false hood (apologies to the Halbachs for having to endure Ken Kratz's twisted version of events with no corroborating physical evidence), what is the actual true story here?
The H family has bones in their possession that was more likely a hunted Bambi than their beloved daughter. Why would the same state that used and abused the family terribly up until 2011, slap them in the face even more?
Is the argument that the bones in their possession ARE their daughter? Why were those bones minimized at trial then?
Lastly, if Steven dismembered a body in the county quarry, why would there be ANY bones near Rollie Johnson's trailer? Also how does he get home in time to speak to Jodi twice on Halloween and supposedly have multiple people see him around Rollies trailer that evening if he is in the county quarry cutting up his victim?
If you'd like to see where Eisenberg describes a lot of the bones that weren't talked about at trial as human and cut marks (not possible, not suspected, but straight up human) you can look here:

Remember only Quarry Pile 1 was mentioned at trial for "20 seconds." The quarry piles with actual human bones, piles 2 and 3, were never even mentioned once by any side but later given back to the Halbach family as a "thank you" from the State of Wisconsin.
"But, but, but, but Steven bought handcuffs with Barb! And he set up a radio scanner like his other brothers already had! Demon!"
[POSITION FILLED] Thanks to everyone who offered thier talent! You guys are all amazing! Thanks!!!
Hey everyone! I'm currently "shopping" around for cover artists at the moment.
My novel centers around a female soldier who begins on a post apocalyptic Earth, and after a supernatural encounter ends up on another world filled with fantasy creatures and magic.
There are two protagonists in the book. The aforementioned female soldier and a male mage apprentice.
I'd prefer a more realistic art style for the cover.
Only looking for a front cover at the moment. No spine or back cover.
If you're interested in this project please let me know! PM me for any questions. At the moment I'm expecting to publish within the next 1 to 2 months.
Price is negotiable (PM for details)
Thanks for your time :D
