I posted this on the BuB sub but I want to repost it here to lock in my prediction. I feel like an oracle with this wisdom I have gleaned from a decade studying the fundie media ecosystem. (If I am wrong, I shall retire my oracle self-designation).
Bringing Up Bates was cancelled. Up made the following statement:
“We will not be premiering Bringing Up Bates season 11 on UPtv as planned as we will be focusing our programming in 2022 on movies and a new scripted series to be announced soon,” read a statement to Us.
Queen of Christian Fiction Karen Kingsbury’s scripted show “The Baxters” is announced to release ‘early in 2022.’ The show was completed years ago but the production company has clearly had trouble shopping it around to networks & streaming services. UPTv is the natural fit but they don’t have enough money to cover two big series. Putting The Baxters on the network could really drive subscriptions to their streaming service. Karen fans be cray.

I am calling it now: UPTv is replacing the reality of the Bates with the bubblegum candyland world of KK’s Bloomington Baxters.
She seems to have an upper class accent. I adore the way she speaks. It's so soft. Her voice is so ASMR-like. She could read me bedtime stories. She said in one episode she knew what it was like to fall on hard times.
I'm at the beginning of season 5. I guess they might reveal more about her past as I get closer to the end of the show.

[Gambodoro] Hearing over 50 people interviewed for this upcoming story that was supposed to run when regular season ended. One person close to the team tells me Baxter Holmes of ESPN was involved with the story.
