.
March 2003, Al-Faw Peninsula, Iraq
Our Navy Seal platoon will spearhead the first strikes of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Our task will be to secure the MABOT (Mina Al Bakr Oil Terminal) before the Iraqis have a chance of destroying it. This sea platform is of strategic importance as 90% of the Iraqi's oil exports transits through this oil rig.
We will assault the oil rig at night, inserting from the lower deck by ship and inserting from the top by helicopter.
Once secured, we will proceed inland and secure the 'MMS': Monitoring Metering Station, vital installations which control the oil supplies in the entire gulf until we will be relieved by the British Royal Marines.
An AC-130 will provide CAS on the final assault on the MMS.
Intel:
A company sized force of the Iraqi republican guard has been deployed onto MABOT, and have fortifyed their positions. There is a strong chance explosives have been planted, which we will have to defuse.
Some civilian workers are still on board the platform and will need to be evacuated
.
Watch your fire, the oil rig is highly flammable!
.
Below are some recon photos:
. . .
OBJECTIVES:
1- Secure the MABOT oil rig
eliminate any enemy opposition
find and defuse any bombs on board on Platform A,B,C,D,E
Zip-tie civilian workers, evacuate them off the MABOT
2- Insert and secure the 'MMS' Monitoring Metering Station until relieved by the British Royal Marines

.
March 2003, Al-Faw Peninsula, Iraq
After our Royal Marine's 1st Platoon's successfull landing on Blue Beach; they are withheld at the Al Faw habor, our 2nd Platoon will make our landing a few clicks East of Al Faw on 'Green Beach' and encircle the remaining enemy elements in Al Faw.
We will depart from the ship HMS Sir Galahad onboard rigid crafts and head onto the Iraqi defensive positions.
Acting as the british vanguard, our unit is tasked with clearing the way towards the highway leading to Basra.
Our final objective will be the 'MMS' a key Iraqi Oil Infrastructure, where we will relieve the Navy Seals which have held their position over the night.
.
Our objectives will be in the following orders (SEE MAP OF AO):
Landing at "Green Beach"
Clear the remaining enemy presence from Al Faw
Secure Dawar
Hill 76: an 12th century fort ontop a hill overlooking the entire Al Faw peninsula and suspected of serving as a vantage point and fire position for the Iraqi Artillery.

What went well and could have been better?
i want to hear your guys's opinions on the project. On paper it sounds quite interesting not only opening up a chance to function as a great port being more possibly more favourable and economical than the Suez but also increasing the capability and for exporting it's product would it ever turn into a more industrious nation or like the current situation to transport resources like oil to europe and elsewhere.
but some also say the goal is very hard to accomplish and over ambitious . And then there's also the factor of political unrest and terrorism which would make companies dodge the region.
here's an article which kind of explains it
