As you know as part of HR1 the Democrats are trying to push thru Ballot harvesting. Some states have made this illegal but this would effectively overrule them and impose it on all states.
Ballot Harvesting/Collection is essentially getting third parties to collect ballots and submit them on behalf of other people. These third parties can be volunteers, employees of campaigns, or other people designated by the state.
I turned in my ballot to a dropbox the same day I got it this past Saturday but the SOS website still isn't saying the ballot was received, only that it was delivered to me. How long should I wait before contacting someone?
Update: I was a little overeager - I haven't received an email but the BallotTrax website says my ballot is now received on Tuesday night which is about in line with what others have been reporting. Thanks!
I've been thinking this over for awhile and I want to get an idea of who might be interested.
Given the USPS issues we are hearing about we can come together and set up a ballot collection effort. This is considered ballot harvesting and is legal in Colorado with some rules...
- A person can only collect 10 additional ballots (not including their own)
- When someone drops off ballots that are not their own, they are required to sign a sheet saying who they are and how many ballots they dropped off

This is a non partisan effort. If you want to help and you collect ballots you CAN NOT ask who the person is voting for and you CAN NOT tell them who you are voting for. We are simply setting up an effort to help those who do not feel comfortable voting in person or helping those who are worried their ballots will not make it through the USPS system in time.
I would like to use reddit as the way to coordinate efforts and get things in place (possibly a diff subreddit?). Please ask any questions you have and feel free to pass the google form link around to friends, family, work, etc. The more people we can get to sign up the more people we are able to help.
