Scientology is a hate group, and its members necessarily must preach the dogma of the church. No active member of the church is innocent of the horrors conducted by the church every day around the globe. If a member speaks out against the church's practices, they face punishment (including violence, hard labor, and isolation) leading up to excommunication, in which case all of their church friends will be forbidden from even speaking with them. Furthermore, church leader David Miscavige is well known for beating the shit out of people who tick him off. It's not a church--it's a hostage situation. Miscavige's wife hasn't been seen since 2007 and si widely presumed to be a victim of torture and/or intense psychological violence.
Seeing as Scientology thrives on its celebrity membership and exploits its celebrity members in order to recruit new members with fame or (more importantly) wealth, I believe that we can all deal a blow to this nightmare organization by disqualifying all members from participating in the traditional trappings of celebrity glamorization, such as their inclusion in awards shows, red carpets, fame-boosting interviews, etc. I never want to see Tom Cruise, John Travolta, Jenna Elfman, Laura Prepon, Giovanni Ribissi, Michael Pena, Kirstie Alley, Beck, Juliette Lewis, Danny Masterson, or Elizabeth Moss appear on my TV again unless they denounce the church. We all have a shared responsibility to neuter the power of this billion dollar cult that is decimating lives of children and adults as we speak by blackmailing them out of all of their money and forcing them to commit unspeakable acts.
