Hi,

This question is in the context of B physics colliders (i.e. Belle) and is about the kinematics of purely leptonic B decays.

I was reading a paper that said in the rest frame of a signal B, the lepton from the decay (say the B -> mu nu decay) is monoenergetic. I'm struggling to see why this is the case because for a two-body decay, surely the momentum/energy would be a spectrum rather than a narrow band as the momentum could be split differently to each particle each time a decay occurs.

What am I missing?

Why do B mesons flicker between being matter and antimatter?

I know neutral B-mesons can oscillate to their antimatter counterpart and the amplitudes of these oscillations (anti-matter -> matter ≠ matter -> anti-matter) shows CP violation in the b-sector. But can charged B-mesons also produce CP violation in this way?

for example can a (u b-bar) -> (u-bar b) B+ -> B- ? does this happen? If so does it require a 2nd order process or can it be described using a leading order diagram?

(I think i've just worked it out but will post in case I'm wrong) My guess is that it can happen B+ <-> B- but needs a 2nd order process to bring in or take out the charge via a W..?

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Here's a quick guide to make the wait for GNOME 42 more bearable for you, like it did for me! :)

You will install the Libadwaita theme and the icon theme on your existing system if you follow this guide. Your system will look like GNOME 42.

And you are very likely to keep this GTK 3 backport of Libadwaita in the future when you use the real GNOME 42, because otherwise your GTK 3 apps will look like ancient garbage next to your real libadwaita apps. So you will benefit from this guide even when GNOME 42 is released.

Install the dependencies.

You need these packages on your system.

• Debian/Ubuntu/Mint/PopOS - sudo apt install ninja-build git meson sassc
• Fedora - sudo dnf install ninja-build git meson sassc
• Arch/Manjaro - sudo pacman -S ninja git meson sassc

Install the Libadwaita theme backport for GTK3.

This gives you colorful folder icons, among other things.

The first line with dependencies is for Fedora and will have to be adapted if you use something else.
