A list of puns related to "B Step Sequencer"
I know with Ultrabeat and the newer included step sequencer (forget the name) you can load drum samples 1-by-1 but is there an easier way to use a step sequencer in Logic without the tedious drag/drop method?
For example, I have Korg's M1 and Wavestation VST's and I wanted to use some of their drums in Logic but wanted to use the step sequencer instead of the piano roll or having to drag and drop dozens of samples like you used to have to do on the MPC's.
Is there a workaround for this? Would really speed up my workflow being able to quickly switch between different drum programs.
Iβve been messing around/learning how to use logic and they seem like they accomplish the same thing. What are the pros and cons of using one over the other?
Hi, I'm new to Logic, coming from Cakewalk and Reaper.
Seems like the step sequencer is really limited rhythmically, at least at the surface level. Is the only way to add triplets really to do a beat repeat value of three? I must be missing something here because that seems really clunky. Why no triplet beat division options?
What are the others ways you add triplets?
Thanks in advance!
Hello! I was looking to create a step sequencer similar to this one by Ethan Gooding, but utilizing user-recorded samples through the microphone instead of pre-selected ones. I was thinking of two different ways of doing this:
a.) Having the audio recorded to a blob similar to this web dictaphone and having that referenced as the sample, or;
b.) Setting up a separate interface for users to create and upload their samples to be used as the sample.
The issue with both of these is that I don't know how to translate the user-created audio file into something I can use in the sequencer. Can anyone here help? Thank you so much!
When I connect an external clock into the clock in of the sequencer, the BPM is picked up but it causes the sequencer to skip 2 stepsβ¦
so the sequencer plays the steps in the following order: 1,4,7,10,13,16,3,6,9,12,15,2,5,8,11,14
Has anyone else had the same issue?
I just raised the issue with Teenage engineering support, but Iβd like to know if anyone else had the same issue or whether Iβm missing something.
My Behringer Crave has a "click" or clipped, enveloped sound on the "rest" steps of the sequence. I hear a pattern of notes, dong dong dong, and then rests, tick tick tick. It's driving me nuts. I have adjusted the synth parameters, and have the latest operating system. I just bought this unit "unboxed," and wondering if it has a fault, or should I be doing something I haven't tried?
Hi everyone hope youβre all doing well and staying safe, Iβm trey Iβm a totally blind Electronic music producer currently using a combination of hardware and reaper on Mac OS X Iβm considering adding an iPad to my set up. One of the aspects Iβm most interested in is using the many step sequencer apps to control both iPad and external gear. I used the VoiceOver screen reader on iOS. please can any of you who use sequencer apps such as modstep rozeta try them with VoiceOver and let me know how you get on instructions to do this can be found on the link below thanks Everyone for your help everyone.

Quick rundown is I'm using a 16 step sequencer, the first 8 notes are standard, but the second half is 7 notes and I want the final note to hold for 2 steps. I tried using another sequencer to hit the run and reset switch but couldn't get that working. It actually wouldn't do what I want anyways, but how would I do something like that? So I could play 8 steps, pause for 4, then play the other 8?
Anyways, using the Phrase-seq-16 I can set the final note to the same as the 7th and give the gate a probability of zero, that seems to work, but is there a way to do this with the default Seq 3?
Okay, I will hold my hands up and say I pre-judged this way of working. Always associated it with music styles I don't usually go for. But after toying with these two new discoveries today, I am amazed at what can be achieved!
Nothing better than getting stuck into some new creative tools!
Hi guys whenever I make a drum pattern on the channel rack and when I open it on the piano roll I notice the notes are not straight on the grid the notes would be in the middle automatically from what I put on the step sequencer..how do I set it to be straight on the grid automatically from the step sequencer please help
Every time I go back to a saved pattern there is always a Tom in place of a hi hat or something. I thought I had to βStore as default pattern templateβ and Iβd be good to go. How do I get this to work?
How Can I change the color of my Step sequencer, I am color blind so it's difficult to see minor variation in color. It is possible as seen below .

So I just started using cakewalk and was using the step sequencer but for some reason I can't hear step one even tho I put a note in it.
Hey people, I'm working on a step sequencer and looking for feature suggestions as I'm sort of running out of ideas.
So far each channel has: 16 steps, clock divider (x2 x4 x8 x16) which slows that channel down by the multiplication amount, step delay per step to add swing or on slower clock divisions to make notes hit in between steps (counteracting the loss of resolution when using clock divider) Randomize all steps on/ off, probability slider per step, Randomize all steps probability button, clear all button, fill all steps button, bar length slider (1-16), Randomize bar length button, channel volume slider, mute channel toggle. All the above buttons can be triggered via keyboard and each one has a toggle to set weather it will respond to the keyboard or not. (in this way you can set some of the channels to be Randomize in whatever way whilst leaving some unmodified) there's also a pitch slider per step for sending out midi notes (1-36) and a root note offset slider to set the base note on top of which the pitch slider values are added.
Each channel can either run from master clock or from a bang input, or both. Inputs for selecting clock division and bar length. Outputs for bang (triggering drum modules) and midi notes as specified per step by the step pitch sliders. Also a sequential switch which will output on 4 different outs which is triggered by an input bang.
Any suggestions on anything to add? Its beyond my capability to for example, make it 4 bars long with buttons to change which bar youre editing, and the screen real estate prevents me from just making the sequencer 64 steps long as opposed to 16, this is what the clock divider and step delay features are designed to get around)
All suggestions welcome, ill share the patch when finished. I was hesitant to share before because the guts were spaghetti, but I've managed to make the internals a lot cleaner using abstractions etc.
Thanks.
