What We Know:
What We Don't Know/What I'd Like to See
Metalcore fans of Reddit, have you ever met Denis Stoff in person or had any interaction with him? If so, what was your experience? I hear mixed things about him. Also this is a repost since Reddit took down my last one.
Just saw them at Louder than Life and it was rough. They didnβt play anything old that people want to hear and he screamed like twice. Voice is totally shot. Ronnie Radke on the other hand sounds exactly how he did when I saw them 10 years ago.
Title says it all, if it didnβt have the Asking Alexandria name on it, it wouldnβt have been hated as much π€·π»ββοΈ (didnβt mean to put an A in the header like that, sorry folks)
Great show if you're going. Just get there at 9 because ADTR goes on at 9:30.
Still charted at #22 on the Hard Rock Albums, #29 Current Album Sales and #43 Top Albums Sales charts
It's radio rock from start to finish. Dont expect any heaviness resembling metalcore at all. Breakdowns have been replaced with guitar solo's, some of which are ok and compliment the song well, and some of which are simply there just cuz.
Three songs I like from that album:
The title track, which is mainly due to the catchy chorus that actually seems really heartfelt to me. Then there's Fame, kinda just a cool fun rock n roll sounding song. I really like the verses in that one. And then The grey. That song just sticks with me for whatever reason.
The rest are utterly forgettable to me. And all the songs on here, I swear I've heard something similar to them before. The song Never gonna learn 100% sounds like nickelback. I wish I was joking there. Although If you like musical whistling in your songs, then that one's gonna be a treat for you. There's not much creativity here. It's more guitar driven then the last album, so that's nice I guess.
The days of this band being a pillar of metalcore or any genre for that matter is over.
Hi,
Random assortment pulled. Everything ships via Media Mail from Boston. 1-5 records is a flat $4 to CONUS.
Asking Alexandria Stand Up and Scream (Clear w/Blue Splatter) (NM/VG+) $45
SOLD Devendra Banhart Ma (NM/VG+) Opened only to confirm color. Jacket stored in shrink.
Dillinger CB 200 (M/NM) Factory-sealed. $16
Gun Club Fire Of Love (VG/G+) Grading conservatively. 1983 pressing on Ruby/Slash with alternative art. Vinyl is a very strong VG/closer to VG+. The platter has some some play and has a few light scuffs including one spot on Side A, Track 5 that might produce a bit of noise. Sleeve has some shelfwear to the corners, a light corner-bend on the bottom left, and faint staining/smuding on the top right. One small section (.75"x.5") section has a lot of residue/discoloration from an old price tag. It would all look better with a cleaning but there it is. $25
Emmylou Harris Wrecking Ball (M/VG) Factory-sealed copy. Vinyl presumed mint. Grading the sleeve conservatively. It would be NM if not for the presence of a groove/light tear through the UPC on the back cover. Pics available upon request. $85
JB's More Mess On My Thing (M/NM) Factory-sealed copy. $16
Jesu/Sun Kil Moon Jesu/Sun Kil Moon (NM/VG+) Vinyl is near pristine. Sleeve has a small ding by the opening seam. Jacket stored in shrink. There's a small sticker claiming this is the Newbury Comics version but that was just a mistag. It's black vinyl. $21
SOLD Mingus Black Saint and the Sinner Lady (VG+/VG+) Grading conservatively. This one has only been played once or twice. Superior Viaduct reissue.
Thelonious Monk / Sonny Rollins Thelonious Monk / Sonny Rollins (Red, White, and Black Starburst) (NM/VG+) $55
Nirvana [Bleach (Clear w/Black Swirl)](https://www.discogs.com/release/8179176-Nirvana-B
... keep reading on reddit β‘The album is apparently not performing very well. Much worse than LAHOF.
Their third album, FDTD remains their best charted album.

Does anyone have a list of the songs AA and PN are playing? I just got into Point North and donβt know all their songs and want to be able to jam out to all of them. Iβve like AA for a while too but definitely donβt know all the words to all their songs. (Iβve learned concerts are way more enjoyable when you know the songs for the openers lol) Canβt wait to see them in New Braunfels next weekend!
Had a great time at the concert, all 3 bands had really high energy and it got progressively better as the night went on. 2nd time hearing ADTR for me and they were even better than the first time which was in 2019. They played more of their older/heavier songs than they did 2 years ago so it was a blast and I couldn't have asked for anything more.
AA for me was really good too but it was my first time seeing them live. According to my friend who saw them 2 years ago, this set had a much better(heavier) selection of songs for their set so he was pleasantly surprised.
For not having heard Point North before, I enjoyed their music. I imagine their vocalist will get better with more practice but overall they sounded pretty good.
10/10 would go again.
