Hello, I'm was wonder if anyone knows where I could find an online copy of B R Ambedkar's Annihilation of Caste in Bengali?? I've found Bengali translations of his published works in the standard volumes, however, as far as I know, Annihilation of Caste is published in Volume 1. I can only ever find 11 and onward online. There's also volumes 18 and onward here (where most official listings only have 1-17), but I don't know enough Bengali to translate myself and check if any of them contain Annihilation of Caste in the table of contents.

As far as i know in India the historical practice was of Jati System, not caste system. Historically we had Jati System, a division just next to Parjati i.e. species level.
Nature through it's diversity, vedas through its understanding of natural laws and Charles Darwin with latest developments in the field of genetics through Descent of man and selection in relation to sex has told abundantly about the role of reproductive isolation in giving birth to new species either through cladogenesis or anganesis in geological time.
E.g. African and Asian elephant have developed such a high level of genetic differences that now they can't have a normal child. It is expected that in near future certain more varities will be developed.
It is because of this that in animal and plant kingdom you can find many subspecies either living in same habitat or different habitat.
For caste you can say that it is more like western idea of white supremacy, which is supplemented by ignorance and false literature. Similar things are available across world unless the population size is small.
E.g. Sunni muslim treat shia and other religious beliefs people as subordinate to them, because of false notion that there way of religion is above others.
China believes that they are superior yellow people race with all other people as lower than them.
Blacks and white are fighting for this long. In Africa one tribe doesn't like other tribe e.g. south sudan is fight between dinka and nuer tribe and so on.
For pros and cons, i will say only this that the concept of jati has all pros and the concept of caste has cons.
This is an odd one, and one I don't think will be solved, because I've scoured Google, and can't find any trace of this game or even memories of it. But I do remember some specifics.
This was a game made in the late 90s or early 2000s. I probably played it in 2000 or 2001, and it was free to download on PC. I think the guy who created it was Seth or something similar. The game was fairly dark, and very creepy. Took place in a medieval setting. There were some satanic elements to it, I think.
The game starts out in a small village, where the protagonist leaves his home on some sort of small quest, and returns home to find his house on fire and his mother brutally murdered inside. This was supposedly done by the villainous "Knights of Cast (or was it Caste...?)"
Protagonist sets out for, I dunno, revenge probably. Along the way he encounters evil members of the Knights of Cast(e), a weird cult in which the leader turns into a hideous monster called a "Slayer" - (I remember the line "I'm not just the leader, I'm also the martyr" or something before it transforms)... There was some NPC always trying to get past some Knights of Cast(e) to reach a place called Windemere - which I think had some weird creepy chicken thing going on there...
End of the game was this hellhole of a dungeon with dragons and dead stuff everywhere. Creepy child-like ghosts and stuff too. The final boss was basically a guy with a black and white image of the creator's actual face that zoomed all over the screen super fast.
It sounds like a fever dream basically, but I know it existed at some point. I'm not even sure why I'm remembering it. I'm just kind of wondering whatever happened to it, and if the creator of the game went on to make more games, or if he became a serial killer instead. It was one F'd up game...

Just watched Alex Garland's Annihilation last night and I have to tip my hat to him. One of the greatest sci-fi movies I have seen in a while [definitely top ten material for myself]. Atmosphere, cinematography, sound design, writing, etc. Everything was top notch.
Afterwards my brother and I discussed the cast and how essentially an almost all female cast nailed their performances.
Not once was it thrown into the audiences face like hey this is a female cast, we are all female scientists, look, look! [I'm looking at you Ghostbusters 2016]. It's mentioned once [and for a logical reason] and that's it, never touched on again. Just letting great, strong female actresses nail their performances in an amazing movie.

Like we've come to a point that now the title will be released to us in a month or so and I just hope that it's something else. Russo's confirmed that the title has been spoken in previous Marvel movie so now there's more reason to believe that it's Annihilation. But I seriously seriously hope that it's not. The family lived in Celebration, FL, a Disney planned community. Their rent was nearly $5K per month. They had a crazy amount of debt, he was under investigation for practicing physical therapy with a lapsed license, etc. The reason this case reminds me so much of the Watts family murders is because of the way both families lived in these overpriced McMansions wracking up debt until it all fell out from underneath them. Also, everyone who knows Tony Todt says he was always a super nice guy and they can't believe he would do anything like this.
