Concerning the teachings of Bodhidharma and the Ch’an sect, Dr. Suzuki quotes the following passage:
"The Master (Bodhidharma) first stayed in Shao-lin Temple for nine years and when at last he taught the Second Patriarch it was in this manner. Externally keep yourself away from all relationships, and internally cherish no hankerings in your heart. When your mind becomes like an upright wall (that is, resistant to the entrance of discriminative ideas) you will enter into the path. At first Hui-k’e tried in various ways to explain (to himself) the reason of mind-only but failed to realise the truth itself. The Master would say: 'No, no,' but would do nothing to explain it or make clear what Mind-essence in its undifferentiated, no-thought, state might be. Later on Hui-k’e said to the Master, 'Now I know how to keep myself away from all relationships.'

There was a question in this group recently about the role of IAL's in Asia and whether any specifically Asian IAL had been created. This 2019 article, 'La tut-monda planlingvo de K’ang Yu-we' by Bradio V. Moro, is about the chinese philosopher K’ang Yu-wei (1858-1927). K’ang Yu-wei was a highly important reformer and political figure at the end of the Chinese Empire. He was a social philosopher, who as part of his philosophy dealt with the concept of a universal world-wide planned language.

K'ang Yu-wei var en mycket berest herre och det finns nog ingen annan, ens någon stockholmare själv, som skrivit så gott om Stockholm som han har. Han skrev resedagböcker, och den om Sverige översattes till svenska och finns tillgänglig på Stockholms stadsbibliotek (K'ang Yu Weis Svenska Resa 1904, Göran Almqvist, 1970).
I sin dagbok jämför han Stockholm med städer som Berlin, Paris och New York och kommer fram till att Stockholm otvivelaktigt är bäst av alla. Han bor på Grand Hotel och besöker bland annat Hagaparken, Centralbadet, Skansen och ett fängelse som låg på Östermalm. Han drar även slutsatsen att Sveriges låga befolkningsantal delvis beror på den bistra kylan som helt enkelt gör att folk inte har tillräckligt med sex. Han skriver även poesi om svensk natur.
Han tycker heller inte om Norge speciellt mycket, beskrivet i citat som:
"Det slog oss då att Sverige skiljer sig lika mycket från Norge som de odödligas nejder från avgrundsandarnas värld."
"Sverige styr Norge på samma sätt som England härskar över Indien."

[Hui-neng] yelled out, “Good friends! You already possess the prajna wisdom of enlightenment! But because your minds are deluded, you can’t understand by yourselves. You need to find a truly good friend to show you the way to see your nature. Good friends, buddha nature isn’t different for the ignorant and the wise. It’s just that people are deluded or awake. When people are deluded, they’re ignorant. When they wake up, they become wise.
Good friends, this Dharma teaching of mine is based on meditation and wisdom. But don’t make the mistake of thinking that meditation and wisdom are separate. Meditation and wisdom are of one essence and not two. Meditation is the body of wisdom, and wisdom is the function of meditation. Wherever you find wisdom, you find meditation. And wherever you find meditation, you find wisdom. Good friends, what this means is that meditation and wisdom are the same.
Fellow students of the Way, be careful. Don’t think that meditation comes first and then gives rise to wisdom or that wisdom comes first and then gives rise to meditation or that meditation and wisdom are separate. For those who hold such views, the Dharma is dualistic: If the mouth speaks of goodness, but the mind doesn’t think of goodness, meditation and wisdom aren’t the same. But if goodness pervades both the mouth and the mind, if what is external and internal are alike, then meditation and wisdom are the same.
The cultivation of self-awareness does not involve argument. People who argue about which comes first and which comes second only confuse themselves. Unless you put an end to right and wrong, you will give rise to self-existent dharmas, and you will never be free of the Four States.

i mean, the group has more than one member that actually DEBUTED on X1 (which was huge prior to the scandal), not to mention that they have the member that placed number freaking one on the whole show. yohan’s so popular that the whole WEi instagram is pretty much just pictures of him with his brand deals and behind the scenes of his dramas. donghan also debuted solo and actually has a music show show win for “sunset”. so, with all that on their favor, how come they’re not even close to being popular? what happened? how did it all go wrong?
