A list of puns related to "All Night (TV series)"
I'm a cis, straight woman. Usually when I watch any tv show or film that has gay characters I think it's really awesome. However in almost all media the gay characters are shown having consistent one night stands and hooking up. Constantly. Also with gay couples in media, I don't think I've ever seen couples be happy and deal with couple problems. There's always a rift in their relationship (for which the open marriage troupe is always used) and their single gay friends always dog on the gay couples, which annoys me to no end.
Please feel free to downvote me if this a stupid question or a tone-deaf one. I'd love to hear opinions and perspectives on this.
Edit: I initially expected to get just two or three answers but I got an overwhelming response. First of all I don't think I should've used the word promiscuous, as it has a negative connotation sometimes and I had no intention condemn or oppose casual sex.
Considering a lot of media I've consumed I think I had some preconceived notions which you guys really knocked down and made me understand. I think my question is a lot more relative than I realised which is excellent because I got to hear so many different views than what I would've expected!
Thanks for helping me open my eyes a bit better. You guys are really sweet.
English isn't my native language (not even my second language). But I do love to watch british series in english and if available with subtitles(not often the case somehow). Imagine my confusion when a unrelated looking 30 year old calls the older women character Mom. Because it didn't happen to often on my viewings (maybe Ma'am isn't that common) I was confused but I put it always aside as me being not attentive enough. Only with the magic of subtitles was I able to understand how much of an moron I was.
He was tired of being pushed around
ExposΓ©/it goes all the way to the top! kind of stuff.
Also any good crime limited series (like Mare of Easttown, The Night Of).
Doesn't have to be a true story or based on one. Just well done! Thanks!
Edit: to clarify, limited series meaning 1 really awesome season :)
So my brother tonight is sitting down to watch Star Wars IV with his son for the first time and we were talking about shows that we wish we could see again for the first time.
So I ask you, what is the one TV series you wish you could rewatch but with fresh eyes for the first time?
Implied here is β¦ no episodic series (eg Law And Order)
We enjoy Drama Crime, Nordic Noir, etc.
No SciFi or Fantasy Dramas
Subtitles are perfectly fine
Thanks
Something similar to Peaky Blinders, Hannibal or Breaking Bad would be ideal.
Edit: Thanks for the responses. After much careful consideration I have decided to go with The Wire
I don't know if this question has been asked before but I will ask it anyway. What movie do you think would have been better suited as a TV Series?
Some films try to cram wayyyyy too much into too little and feel overstuffed as a result, personally, I think the recent Matt Damon film Stillwater would have been better as a crime miniseries since there was just too much put into the film it felt overstuffed and questions were left unanswered
What films would you say?
I need a new tv as my current one doesnβt have 4K. Should I look at getting a tv with the 2.1 hdmi? Or with 120hz? I donβt know too much about TVs. Will a 4K 60fps tv do?
now that the show has aired 5 episodes, i would like to give my thoughts on it and see if there are others who feel the same way as i do. not zealous fans and not haters, but some where in the middle :)
EPISODE 1
i always thought it would be nice to see nynaeve and egwene doing women's circle things. but upon seeing the episode, the problem is, it took time a way from the episode for more important things. we could have completely cut the women's circle scene as it does absolutely nothing but some world building for emond's field. where as that time could have better been used for the farewells. rand asking his dad about the sword, lan seeing the sword, tam teaching rand about the flame and the void (we still haven't seen rand practice with the sword 5 episodes in, we still haven't seen him learn about the void and the flame 5 episodes in, like WTF!!!!!), matt saying good bye to his sisters, how he comes to terms with leaving them behind with his deadbeat parents. egwene making her peace to go with them after just losing nynaeve. the farewell scene could have added some world building and a lot of character building for the characters as a whole that impacts them throughout the series rather than the initiation at the start that does almost nothing for the rest of the series. "well it was foreshadowing for egwene learning saidar man" you might say. to which i will reply with, it was pointless because in episode 2 moiraine walks her through that exact thing either way.
PERRIN!
i understand they made him married and killed his wife for the whole weapon vs tool conundrum. great. now he can't get together with faile because what kind of monster dates again within 5 years of accidentally killing his wife let alone a year or 2. yea not his fault, that shit is still traumatizing tho.
now there are 2 ways the showrunners can try and write them selves out of this corner.
A) make her a darkfriend so perrin killing her was fine.
B) use the aelfin/eelfin/dalinar night mother method and now he has no memories of his wife.
these are both really bad game of thrones season 8 levels of bad writing. because it would nullify the impact of perrin killing his wife to a major degree and make the entire scene completely pointles. like it was done for the sake of fake shock value. one of the best things about the first 4 seasons of Game of Thrones was that every action had consequences. you play the game without knowing the rules? you get beheaded, you make a po

I think this came on late night on the USA channel either before or after the Hitchhiker. The only part of the show I can seem to remember is the very beginning of the intro cut scene. The camera is entering a house and inside is a family of possibly cyclops-people/alien/monsters in regular clothes in a normal setting. I can't remember the rest of the show, but I want to say it was kinda like Tales from the Crypt where it's a different story everytime, I'm not really sure though... Maybe it was just a dream.
We just finished the second season and I feel like the second season is just as good if not better than the first season. I've read the books up to where they're at in the show. There's a lot of changes, especially in the second season, mainly expanding and adding characters (the broad strokes are still pretty similar), but I think overall they're more positive than negative. What does everyone else think?
There are a wealth of options nowadays, but here are some pointers as you always get someone asking for recommendations, and I'm also making this for posterity (in case anyone comes across this post via Google).
I've seen many of these titles or am planning to. I need to give some of them a rewatch now that I am older. So apologies for any misinformation. Common themes include identity, diversity, trauma, sexuality, psychological problems, drug use and addiction, loneliness, coming of age, romance and friendship. Certain media are more for adults, but might still be relevant to you.
Skam and Euphoria (US) are the most compared to Skins, and both tackle topics that teenagers deal with, like sex, self-discovery, bullying and societal pressure, mental health problems, homosexuality and transgender issues, etc. Euphoria is a remake of an Israeli series that is kinda underground. A big theme is substance abuse and its effects. Skam has many versions and the same channel produced another show called Blank. Not sure how that one is, though.
Hormones: The Series is considered to be the Asian counterpart to Skins, and there are gay couples. However, expect censorship, as Thailand is a conservative country. It started with a movie that was so successful that it spawned a 3-season "lakorn" (drama). Thailand has a ton of LGBT-themed media; another one that was well-received is Love Sick (not to be confused with the British sitcom).
SLiDE was a short-lived teen drama from Australia. If you want more Aussie stuff, check out "Heartbreak High" (from the 90s) and "Nowhere Boys". "Ready For This" features an indigenous cast, haven't seen it.
The Inbetweeners is said to be the opposite of Skins - a group of losers trying to navigate the last years of school (Sixth Form).
Misfits aired in the same channel as Skins and Inbetweeners (E4). It is a series involving a group of young adults with superpowers. I really loved it.
Glue is a murder mystery said to be similar to Skins and Broadchurch.
I'm a fan of the Degrassi franchise from Canada, but it's not for everyone, as it has an educational vibe and can be a bit cheesy sometimes. I like it though, as the actors/characters grow up and there are serious topics such as teen pregnancy, drugs, LGBT issues, mental health, prejudice, etc. Known for featuring Drake (Aubrey Graham). Director Kevin Smith used to watch Degrassi when he was younger. Has many installments. I suggest starting out with

We've seen all the Marvel movies and series and she's watched them too. Anyway. When she saw Hawkeye was hearing impaired she beamed with a smile because she felt he was like her now. I too love how the show handles deaf and hearing impaired characters. It really gives representation to the deaf and hearing impaired people in the super hero world.
Just wanted to share as this was something that just made me smile.
