A list of puns related to "25th Sundance Film Festival"
Howdy redditors. Iβm Gregory Barnes the writer and director of The Touch of the Masterβs Hand. It won the 2021 Sundance Film Festival Jury Prize for Best US Fiction and after a year of playing festivals, itβs online!
You can watch it here
Filmed in a Mormon meetinghouse, Masterβs Hand follows a Mormon missionary troubled by an unnatural temptation, who must confess the humiliating depths of his pornography addiction to his Mission President.
Hereβs a short video intro to get to know me and the movie
Iβm looking forward to chatting all about movies, mormons, and mormons in movies.
EDIT: updated a link
One awards season is already hard enough to follow, but now we have two? And the festival is back to full size this year, even if it is still sadly virtual. Well, let's get to it. Utah's Sundance Film Festival is back once again, taking place from January 20β30 on laptop screens everywhere. Films premiering at the festival include:
Alice, Krystin Ver Linden
Am I OK?, Tig Notaro and Stephanie Allynne
Call Jane, Phyllis Nagy
Cha Cha Real Smooth, Cooper Raiff
Dual, Riley Stearns
Fresh, Mimi Cave
jeen-yuhs: A Kanye trilogy, Coodie & Chike
Living, Oliver Hermanus
Lucy and Desi, Amy Poehler
Sharp Stick, Lena Dunham
To the End, Rachel Lears
We Need to Talk About Cosby, W. Kamau Bell
When You Finish Saving the World, Jesse Eisenberg
2nd Chance, Ramin Bahrani
892, Abi Damaris Corbin
Plus dozens more in and out of competition.
The upcoming Ye documentary, JEEN-YUHS: A KANYE TRILOGY, is premiering at the Sundance Film Festival. The ticketsale starts tomorrow for a single film ticket (20$).
Anyone planning to watch? I'm European so sadly can't get my hand on a ticky since it's not accessible for us, there'll probably be some Twitch stream tho where I can instantly watch it lol

Sundance is happening virtually again this year and with that I'm curious if anyone has been watching the horror films in it's line up.
The only one I can catch this year is Resurrection. Rebecca Hall stars as a woman who finds that a man from her past has come back to her life and things get twisted from there. The man is played by Tim Roth. Such a strange film, that's very slow yet disturbing for various reasons. Rebecca Hall probably gives her best performance ever in this movie.
Looking to buy an online single film ticket at Sundance and wondering which to get. The more critically acclaimed movies seem to be sold out.
Tickets went on sale today for MMITB at Sundance, but the process was kind of confusing so I wanted to share with you all in case you're as confused as I was haha
Single Film tickets are available for $20 each. There are two MMITB showings available. The premiere is on January 24th at 1:55 am; however, buying a premiere ticket only gives you a three-hour window to watch. The second showing begins on January 25th at 10:00 am, but buying this ticket option gives you a 24-hour period to watch, unlike the premiere.
This page discusses the different ways to watch. You can watch through your internet browser (unless you have internet explorer, you're SOL) or stream to your tv through chromecast, airplay, or even connecting your computer through HDMI. Sundance is also launching an app on January 17th, so you can watch on your phone, AppleTV, Firestick, Roku, etc.
Hope this helps!
I was gonna get a single film ticket and its sold out on their website. I'm assuming one of yall bought a ticket. I'd love to watch it with you even on a screenshare or something.
This was the first time I did Sundance and I had the chance to see literally half of the movies on the program list. From those who attended virtual Sundance 2022, what movies did you see and what would you give it on your rating scale?
