TIL that Die Hard, much debated over whether or not it is a Christmas film, was first released to cinemas in the middle of July 1988. Its distributor, 20th Century Fox, had greenlit the screenplay in June 1987 because they needed a summer blockbuster for the following year.

The Guinness Game (1980) - 20th Century Fox's syndicated 1979-80 weekly game show where 3 contestants predict each stunt to win cash and prizes. Records broken on the show would be submitted to The Guinness Book of World Records. Lasted 24 episodes and was co-produced by Bob Eubanks.

TIL that the first Star Wars (1977) movie was offered by George Lucas to Disney but got declined. It was released by FOX instead and became then the highest grossing movie ever. Decades later, Disney would buy both the Star Wars franchise and 20th Century Fox in deals worth billions.

(Mistake or Simpsons-esque prophecy?) In Addams Family Values (1994), the kids are being punished by means of positive family entertainment. Joel says βbutβ¦ Itβs Disney.β Then, The Sound of Music begins to play, which, was owned by 20th Century Fox, but is now, technically, a Disney movie.
