Bit of rain all day long, 10Β°C on the first part of the stage, gets closer to 15Β°C at the end. East wind, 15km/h to 25km/h at the end
Stage Breakdown
Hello everyone, and welcome to the prediction thread for the 16th stage of the Tour de France.
We head into the final week now, and with that, a mountain stage clearly designed for a breakaway. We start in Pas de la Case at the frontier between Andorra and France. There will be a great change in temperature in the area as it will be lower than 10Β°C at the start tomorrow, following a big strom that hit Andorra and the whole eastern part of the PyrΓ©nΓ©es a few hours after yesterday's stage ended. So wet roads to be expected. The official start is way lower than at Pas de la Case (full downhill start would be contreversial these days). Those 35kms of descent and flat will make the battle for the break hard for the climbers. The stage is composed of 3 climbs, none particularly hard and all tackled with an headwind. The finale will be with a side wind and the final 500m are uphill.
With that in mind here are our predictions:
β β β Higuita, Cort
β β Konrad, Colbrelli, Mohoric, Poels, Teuns, Matthews, Guerreiro
β Herrada, Bilbao, Cosnefroy, Henao, Mezgec, Fraile, Aranburu, Mollema
Well it's for the breakaway clearly.
Multiple points of interest. The start, clearly helping the "big" riders until km 35.
The top of the last climb, completly in the headwind, which will force a big group most likely.
The final flat part, which is in a sidewind, may alow for a bit of a mess even GC wise, bacause it is a fairly strong wind.
With that in mind, the choices are Higuita and Cort as the main favourites, both able to go past the last climb with a fairly big group and to win in that final uphill sprint.
the 2 star category is filled with Bahrain riders and riders able to sprint well.
That's it for us, what is your prediction for the stage?
The 1907 Saint Gaudens double eagle, high-relief version, is one of my dream coins. But I can't really justify spending nearly $20k (targeting a MS-63 coin) on a single coin.
What I thought might be fun is instead starting with just $100, and buying and selling coins (flipping) until I have enough to afford one. It's something I already do on a small scale, buying coins on eBay, Heritage, GreatCollections, etc., and selling them for a profit on those same platforms. I typically look for coins on auction that have bad photos, bad listings, or just seem underpriced. Then I'll take better photos, submit the coins for grading in some cases, and set up a listing to try to sell the coin for more. Sometimes it takes a little while to sell, but I'm generally successful in turning at least a small profit after fees.
You may have heard about the guy who started with a paperclip and eventually traded it into a house - this is kind of the same principle, but with coins. Has anybody tried something like this themselves? Let me know if you think this is stupid or have any suggestions.
If I do end up doing this, I'll post some regular progress updates with screenshots here if people are interested.
What is a reasonable premium over spot per coin for one of XF quality?
I see JMBullion is selling them in XF quality for $1925 each ($200 over spot). I have been wanting one, debating pulling the trigger.
Update: I've managed to find one within my price range. I got the silver one to go along with it. They'll look fantastic next to each other in a case. Thanks everyone for the help.
Hi!
I've been looking for this coin for a while. It's an absolutely gorgeous 1oz high-relief gold double eagle. I missed out on an auction for it a few months back where it sold for $2640. I'm kicking myself because that's well within my price range. There was an earlier auction the previous year where it sold for under $2000, but I assume the current FMV is closer to the higher figure, probably higher.
The only place I currently see it for sale is a buy-it-now on ebay for over double that price, with no previously sold auctions for a reference.
This is probably a longshot, but if anybody has one and are willing to let it go, give me a DM and I'll pay FMV + a fair premium. Alternatively, if anyone has the 1/2oz gold variant, I may also be interested. Willing to pay via venmo, paypal, or anything else I can sign up for quickly.
Thanks!

On offer are two 1925-P St. Gaudens Certified by NGC as UNC details, cleaned. SD Bullion is offering "Jewelry Grade" St. Gaudens for $1975. The coins being presented here are beautiful coins with only small patches of hairlines, not highly polished like a jewelry grade coin. Grab these for $1900/ea before gold prices go crazy!
Disclaimer: Also listed in Coins4Sale. Shiping is $8.00 for SFRB with Signature Confirmation (effort to keep your mail carrier from just dumping the package on your door stop). If you don't want Signature Confirmation SRFB will be $7. Payment via PPFF (No Notes) or Zelle. I pack carefully and use a lot of strong tape. Buyer pays first then I will ship and provide tracking ASAP. Once the items are scanned at the PO my liability ends. If you want to pay extra for insurance let me know.
Hey guys!
For sale is a beautiful gold + silver coin set, both 1oz 2017 Saint Gaudens High-relief double eagles. The set includes 1x gold and 1x silver coin. I haven't seen many of the gold coins around, and with a mintage of just 750, it's no surprise.
Both are NGC graded PF70 ultra cameo, and are some of the most beautiful coins I've ever possessed. Being the original preferred design of Saint Gaudens, this is no surprise.
Here's a more-detailed description of the gold coin on govmint
The price of these has varied quite a bit since released, with recent comps on ebay and various auctions going from $4000 to $5000+ for just the gold coin.
I'm looking to get $4200 (or best reasonable offer, I'm open to partial trades) for the set. Includes free shipping w/insurance within CONUS.
Preferred Payment: Paypal F&F
I'm also willing to do an in-person exchange in/near Oakland CA if possible.
I've never sold on /r/coins4sale, but I do have history with good feedback on /r/pmsforsale, /r/watchexchange, and ebay.
Hey y'all,
I'm aware I have zero reputation on this side of reddit and have never done any transactions on reddit so this comes off as sketch. So if you want I can further verify over PM's or make smaller transactions with other coins to develope rep. Middle man use is also acceptable.
Anyways,
I have a 1914 Saint Gaudens Double Eagle for $XXXX with free shipping to the US unless you request a particular form of shipping.

Payment can be done over PayPal (plus fees) or Zelle. I will not ship before payment is received (edit: unless middleman is used).

Hi great coin graded ms63 by NGC 1923 St. Gaudens $1650.00 shipped ppff SOLD
I am a newcomer and I saw this
https://silvergoldbull.ca/1-oz-silvertowne-saint-gaudens-silver-round
I really like the pic on the coin but I am not sure if that is a sovereign mint coin or not. If not I might go with this https://silvergoldbull.ca/1-oz-2021-saint-helena-the-queen-s-virtues-victory-silver-coin since it is from a sovereign mint
EDIT:
So round means non gov mint coin? But the saint helena's one is gov mint?
EDIT2:
I think I know why sanit helena one is not in demand
This coin was initially issued in 2021, and is currently available only in silver in 1 Oz size.
The front of the coin features an image of Queen Elizabeth II. Surrounding her portrait are the coin's year of minting, its face value, and the words 'St. Helena, Queen Elizabeth II.Β Each 1 ounce silver coin has a face value of 1 GBP.
Hi there, sorry I feel like Iβm posting a lot on this community lately. My main objective with gold is wealth preservation over the long term. With that said, does anyone suggest AGE over Saint Gaudens?
I feel SG can outperform a bit in the long run, but enough so to outweigh the premium? Are they both as easy to liquidate? I wouldnβt be buying any rare years or graded. Any advice would be appreciated.

I'd like to buy a Saint-Gaudens double eagle from someone with established feedback on /r/PMsFeedback (as a seller). I do not want a slabbed coin and condition is not super important so long as it hasn't been cleaned and it isn't really messed up.
I can pay with crypto or GW. Please let me know your price shipped (to Texas). If the price works for me, I will ask for pictures.
Thanks!!

I'm not into modern slabs, but this is a slab I would consider especially if we get further dips Tuesday or maybe Wednesday.
What do you experts think of this price?
Killer buy (for random/common year) if I could get it at $1250? What's the no-brainer buy-it-now price on this?

An elderly friend of mine who collects coins and gold and silver is starting to liquidate some of his holdings to make it easier for his heirs to divide his inheritance in the future. All prices listed are set by him, not me, so if the prices seem a bit high, I have no control over that.
Coins are not discolored, it's just a small side effect of trying to light the coins well enough to get close-ups of the detail and condition without completely washing them out.
