A list of puns related to "2010 America's Cup"
I was listening to the latest BSH radio and they brought up the fact that both Schenns won a cup after their departure from the Flyers. Given that 2010 was the last time the Flyers peaked and I thought I'd track down exactly who else is in this storied club. #Former Flyers who have won a cup with another team since 2010
Player | Team | Year | Yrs Since Flyer | Other Cups | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Mark Recchi | Boston Bruins | 2011 | 7 | 1991, 2006 | |
Mike Richards* | Los Angeles Kings | 2012 | 1 | 2014 | |
Jeff Carter* | Los Angeles Kings | 2012 | 1 | 2014 | Active, Penguins |
Simon Gagne* | Los Angeles Kings | 2012 | 1 | ||
Justin Williams | Los Angeles Kings | 2012 | 8 | 2006, 2014 | |
Daniel Carcillo* | Chicago Blackhawks | 2013 | 2 | ||
Michal Handzus | Chicago Blackhawks | 2013 | 7 | ||
Patrick Sharp | Chicago Blackhawks | 2013 | 7 (4) | 2010 | Won after he left in 2010, but before the table counts because it was against the peaking Flyers |
Kimmo Timonen* | Chicago Blackhawks | 2015 | 1 | ||
Kris Versteeg | Chicago Blackhawks | 2015 | 4 | 2010 | Won in 2010, but before he was a Flyer |
Tom Sestito | Pittsburgh Penguins | 2016 | 3 | ||
Mark Streit | Pittsburgh Penguins | 2016 | 0 | On trade deadline day the Flyers traded Streit to the Lightning, who then flipped him to the Penguins | |
Brayden Schenn | St. Louis Blues | 2019 | 1 | Active, Blues | |
Braydon Coburn* | Tampa Bay Lightning | 2020 | 5 | ||
Luke Schenn | Tampa Bay Lightning | 2020 | 4 | 2021 | Active, Canucks |
Also worth mentioning, Craig Berube was our head coach until 2016 and won with as a mid-season hire with the Blues in 2019. Notably, he replaced Mike Yeo. He should count on this list because his name is on the cup and he played for the Flyers too, but only technically. I'd also be willing to bet that there are assistant coaches that have won cups in minor roles on other teams, but I don't have the patience to look for that.
#Quick Notes
If a player is going to win the cup after leaving the Flyers, on average they will achieve it in 3.4 years time
The Lightning are total snakes
Jeff Carter needs to retire, he is the anti-flyer right now
Patrick Sharp scored 4 goals and 2 assists against the Flyers in the 2010 Finals, which makes his departure hurt a LOT worse than it seems at first glance
This was fun but tedious. If I have a lot of free time I might investigate this statistic for playe

Bored and stuffed to the gunwhales, yet? Perhaps some diversion... I would like to invite you to play a round on the new Celtic Manor 2010 course that I have knocked up for you, and I would love to know what you think of it.

The course is, I believe, the first LIDAR based version of CM2010 in the game. Welsh Lidar data is difficult to process, and there was no OSM mapping when I came to do it, so I believe this is the first Lidar version, and therefore should be the most accurate rendering of this amazing and challenging course.
You will all know this course from the 2010 Ryder Cup. It is a long course, with a wide variety of holes that will get you using your brain and biceps in equal measure. There is a lot of water on the course, and to get a proper feel for it you should whack the wind up to maximum. Hole 9 is an absurdly long Par5 that will take probably 3 accurate tonks to hit the green. The 15th is a lovely risk-reward Par4 hole that you can either try to drive over trees, or play left to the fairway and pitch over a rocky stream.
I have tried to make this course as accurate as I know how, down to tree and bush placement, but if I have missed any characteristic details or something is just plain wrong, please let me know. At least the lidar will guarantee that the hole topography is accurate.
Thanks should go to Ashley Gilbert who helped me with the Welsh Lidar data, and you should definitely play his Nefyn (https://www.tgctours.com/Course/Details/23685). Also, no Lidar course would exist without Chad's Tool from Chad Rockey - may your balls always be dry, Chad!
Also, MadFranky helped with play testing, he is a fellow Lidar designer, you should check out "The Golf House Club, Elie" and "Castle Course, Fife (L)" for some challenging real-world courses, plus his Bamburgh Castle, Castle Stuart and Skibo versions. The Castle course is the neighbour to St. Andrews, and has some of the wildest greens in Scotland, it is incredible, so much fun.
Hope you enjoy Celtic Manor 2010 (and Nefyn, and The Castle). Positive criticism is really appreciated. Enjoy!

"Later on May 23, within an hour after the Blackhawks won the playoff game that secured their place in the Stanley Cup Finals, five members of senior management (then-President John McDonough, MacIsaac, General Manager Stan Bowman, then-Executive Vice President Jay Blunk, and then-Assistant General Manager Kevin Cheveldayoff), along with then-head coach Joel Quenneville, and Gary, met to discuss what had been learned about Aldrich and John Doe. Accounts of the meeting vary significantly, and the participants had limited recollections of the details of the meeting. All of the participants recalled being informed that there was an incident between Aldrich and John Doe involving an unwelcome sexual advance, but, for the most part, the participants reported that they only learned about the incident at a high levelβthat Aldrich, a coach, tried to βget under the sheetsβ with John Doe, a player. Gary recalled telling everyone in the meeting what he said John Doe told himβthat Aldrich was pressuring John Doe to have sex with him and that Aldrich told John Doe that if John Doe did not submit to Aldrichβs advances, he could harm John Doeβs career. None of the participants recalled being told about the type of clearly non-consensual sexual conduct that is described by John Doe in his lawsuit or was described during John Doeβs interview with us." (page 5)
Bowman recalled that during the meeting, McDonough and Quenneville made comments about the challenge of getting to the Stanley Cup Finals and a desire to focus on the team and the playoffs. Several years later, MacIsaac, in discussing the situation between Aldrich and John Doe with another Blackhawks employee, stated that McDonough did not want any negative publicity during the Stanley Cup Finals. While there was a general failure to recall how the meeting ended, Bowman recalled a statement by McDonough, the most senior member of management in the room, that he would handle the situation. Regardless of who was, or was perceived to be, responsible for handling the situati

what was the betting line on that before qualifying began?
I got a cup, image linked in reply, and I think it resembles the same cups from a movie. In said movie, a key is hidden inside a cup collection. The protagonists underestimate how many cups someone could have in the collection and they end up finding the key. Itβs like weird mugs with faces. Please help find this movie. Relatively new? Maybe its 6 underground or something along those lines ?
Does anyone still have the roster updates for the 2010 World Cup game on their PS3 and might upload them? You can't download it anymore as the servers have been shut down a while ago which means the likes of Neuer and MΓΌller are missing.
Would anyone be so kind as to find them and share them? It would be much appreciated
So in light of all the news coming forward about the Chicago Blackhawks, the NHL should have the Sharks play the Flyers in a 7 game series for the 2010 Stanley Cup. Before anyone actually takes me serious this is obviously a Joke.
