A list of puns related to "2005 In Film"
Does anybody know how long the estimate for expiry was on a roll of film? I am hoping to do a 90's themed shoot with this expired roll of film and it would be amazing to learn that the reel had been made in the 90's.
Lets be honest. The only reason why this movie didnt get any oscars is because its german and Bruno Ganz played as Adolf Hitler. The academy awards comitee was just to afraid of giving "Hitler" an oscar.
Overall I think their are definetly bias against non american and especially non english movies in the oscars comitee.
I have been meddling with film photography for a year now, after spending most of my life messing about taking photos with a mobile phone. I have absolutely fallen in love with this, and so I'm exploring everything I can about it.
I bought a new/old camera, a Lubitel 166B, and I bought some expired film to try the camera out with it. I liked the results it gave, so I'm going to do a collection about these expired films and what happens with them.
The first is about a roll of Fujifilm Pro 160 NPS I bought off eBay. The link to the article is here, I hope you find it interesting!
We all know about the Spielberg adaptation of H.G. Wells' novel in 2005, as well as The Asylum's cash-in "mockbuster" in the same year. But did you know there was a third War of the Worlds film in 2005?!
[The Wikipedia page](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H._G.Wells%27_The_War_of_the_Worlds(Hines_film)) is one of those fantastic articles where you can tell the writer/director has made edits themselves.
Speaking of the director, he not only made two subsequent cuts (each shorter than the last, as the first released cut was THREE HOURS LONG), but in 2012 he took another stab at adapting Wells' novel, this time as a mockumentary. Really have to admire his persistence; he still tweets about the 2012 film to this day: https://twitter.com/timothyhines
I think I rented the movie from a Redbox around 2012. It was an indy-type film, mid-to-low budget. I think it had a couple of B-list actors in it.
It starts out with the protagonist and his wife having a dinner party in celebration of the protag's book release (or something like that). He and his wife go out on the roof balcony and talk about their life and love. I think he says he'll be going away on a trip.
Next scene shows the protag driving through a desert-type landscape. He stops at a diner. His brother who had been missing since they were teens and who was thought to be dead shows up. They catch up.
The brother takes the protag to go live with him.
Every now and then the smoke detector in the house makes a loud beep, which the protag finds odd.
When the protag sees certain things in the house, he has flashbacks involving a strange man. He can't figure it out.
In the final scene, the brother reveals to the protag that he (the protag) is in a coma. He was seriously injured in a burglary attempt. The brother's house is really his house, and the strange man was the burglar.
The brother tells him he has to let go of his life. He says it will be like a leaf letting go from a tree and falling gently. The protag is scared. Finally, he makes the decision to let go.
It then shows him in his hospital bed, with a beeping life support machine next to it (the beep he kept hearing). His wife is laying next to him, crying, telling him softly that it's ok to let go. Then he dies.
Anyone know the name of the film?
