#Quick Facts
This is the first ever meeting between the two teams.
Massachusetts is appearing in its first ever title game, coming off of a season featuring their first ever league regular season title and first ever Hobey Baker winner in Cale Makar.
Duluth is appearing in their third straight national title game, and is attempting to become the first team to win back to back titles since Denver in 04-05.
A Duluth win would be their third title overall. UMD is 2-2 all time in the championship game, with their other title coming in 2011 over Michigan.
A UMass victory would be the fifth first time champion this decade, following 2011 UMD, 2013 Yale, 2014 Union, and 2015 Providence. This would also result in a second consecutive national champion from Hockey East winning the NCAA title for the first time.
UMass is without F Bobby Trivigno following a suspension for a blindside hit to the head during the National Semifinal game vs Denver that went initially uncalled.
