A list of puns related to "1985 In Music"
Maybe Iβm just subcategorizing too far, but it seems to me these types of songs have a very unique sound (piano and horns with electric guitar, clean, complex percussion, etc.) that doesnβt fit with classic rock, isnβt new wave music, and certainly doesnβt fit in with the hair metal that evolved in the mid-1980s. Does this type of music have a genre or a name for the period?
Astounding Stuff.

So I was at the ski slopes today and they chose to play a weird mix of really old music. Like Salt n Pepper and Beastie Boys type things, a lot. They played a lot of music between like 1990 and 2002 ish. When they played Jax "where's your head at," the same thought that always comes to me came immediately. Where is all the hardcore music like that? That is like a trippy/hardcore EDM type song, they also had a lot of hardcore alt rock in those days. Hip Hop could be pretty aggressive. Does it not seem like music is kind of wimpy nowadays? Why doesn't today's music seem so drugg/addled/destructive. All the music between 90 and 2002 seem to have energy. Rock music encouraged burning things, EDM encouraged doing drugs in warehouse raves. What happened to that crazy edginess of life that teens felt they needed to navigate before finding sanity and become a halfway adult when its time to go to college? Is today's music destined to just be a bunch of homeless sounding people strumming a guitar or playing jamaican music?
