A list of puns related to "Zhang Xueliang"
I have been playing as Communist China, and I was hoping to get zhang xueliang, due to the focus tree unlocks. It seems that no matter what, however many restarts. the soviet Union will never agree, it seems. No matter opinions, no matter if I aready have the land I need to form the NNGD.
And then, with defied soveit order, I found the only htime xueliang will accwpt will involve agreeing not to kill china - which makes little sense considering it says for the other option '40% cnahce will accept'. Now, unless I have attrocious luck, it seems after countless attempts its allways the later. If anyone knows any steps required to ensure he accepts - or if this is a bug, Please, please tell me below
Zhang Xueliang is a interesting, highly pragmatic figure in CCW history. Not really a leftists but still praised within the PRC for the X'ian Incident, I propose having him lead a KMT-supportive coup in Fengtian should the KMT rise up in the rest of China. While not as anti-Japanese as OTL given his father's survival, I still feel that given his OTL history, Xueliang could see the merits in uniting against both German and Japanese influence with the KMT in the south
I have read everywhere that to get him you need xs territory but even after that every tine I ask him he always refuses
Following the death of Yang Yuting at the hands of the brutish pretender government we have been forced to take action. How Zhang Xueliang escaped from Japan is entirely unknown to us but this will be investigated and will be rectified. In Manchuria members of the Kwantung army will begin the hunt for all members of the Manchurian resistance and will be aided by the [Japanese controlled] police force. The military will be purged of loyalist generals, the army is mostly conscripts and are loyal to whoever wields power meanwhile Japanese officers will be sent in to train them and secure their loyalty.
Meanwhile the Japanese will set about organizing the true Chinese government led by Guo Songling who will be declared "Chief Marshal" of the Clique and will be charged with forming a new government and preparing the army for the retaking of China. We will mostly leave them alone as long as we are given preferential trading rights and allowed to station troops in Manchuria, Propaganda will be distributed depicting the Japanese government as having done nothing to the Fengtain clique but help them in their mission to reclaim China and that Zhang Xueliang is merely power hungry and doesn't care about Chinese nationalism. Finally the "National Chinese Reclamation Army" and will consist of former members of the fengtain clique trained and commanded by Japanese officers and armed with Japanese weapons from the first Sino-Japanese war. We hope to recruit at least 120,000 troops but we are capable of supplying up to 220,000. Conscription will be enforced.
I understand that he apparently had Communist sympathies, but does there exist any evidence that he was an actual member of the party?
If so, it gives a new flavour on the events in Xi'an of 1936.

Hello everyone, my name is NothingHere, and I am the current moderation lead for the TNO submod, The Red Order: First Days of Eurasia. 100 years ago today, the Qing Empire saw the beginning of the Wuchang Uprising, an uprising which turned into a revolution, ending over 2,000 years of imperial rule in China. To celebrate such an important event in Chinese history, we shall be exploring the first year of gameplay for the Republic of China. Before that however, I first would like to thank our current China Team Lead, Offensive Orangutan, who will be giving you a tour of the Republic today. I would also like to thank our Writing Lead mmm for editing many pieces of writing you will see today, and finally the entire China Team for their contribution to this project as a whole. With that out of the way, here is Offensive Orangutan with the rest of the diary.
Hello, this is Offensive Orangutan. First off, welcome to the second TRO Dev Diary! Second off, I hate every single one of you. Before we begin with key gameplay elements and themes, I would like to bore you with an unhealthy injection of lore.
History:
With the victory of Bukharin over his adversaries in the Soviet Union, the Kuomintang, much like in real life, would have still committed the massacres and pogroms against the Communists. Bukharin historically never much advocated a severe foreign policy in regards to the Chinese Question, and here he simply reenacts the events of real life, at least to a point. It is only with the events of the Japanese invasion that things take a turn.
Much like real life, the Kuomintang and the Communists are forced into a united front on orders of the Comintern and the Xi'an Incident. The Soviet Union continues its assistance to China, and eventually, a stalemate is reached at the Battle of Taiโerzhuang. Things do not change until one fateful day, when the American behemoth is awoken from its slumber.
With Joseph Kennedy Sr. as President of the United States, it is Albert Wedermeyer, as opposed to Joseph "Vinegar Joe" Stilwell, who is sent to China to assist Chiang Kai Shek's forces. An ardent anti-communist, Wedermeyer managed to find a compatriot in Chiang Kai-shek, reinforcing a far more sympathetic view of the Kuomintang in this timeline as opposed to the dismal one held by the Roose

So I just played a Fengtain game until 48. I was lucky enough that Chen and Song compromised with me so I could experience the other path unlike my first playthrough. I was unlucky, or lucky from a certainly perspective, that Japan was scared of my 400 division army and actually just gave in to the Ultimatum focus. Cucking me out of my war, the legation cities, and the opportunity to strip the north from India and Japan. I wanted to add some nuance to the path to democracy so I thought up this. A sort of rework for the Twin Dragons path made while I put all of my mils into making 15,000 medium tanks.
Rework focuses after the 1923 constitution. Each of them, while the progress meanders along, will have a series of decisions/events pop up. The Crux of the decisions is if Xueliang plays ball with the agreements made with Chen, Song, and Chen or if Xueliang is his father's son and tries to back out of the agreements seeing the same "problems" his father did. The core idea is Xueliang is becoming his own man, taking on his father's political position properly and not as a figure head, and playing the political game.
The end result is either Zoulin's true retirement, content with his son succeeding him and with Xueliang subjecting himself to an election and risking losing his position. The last focus would be as grandiose as Japan's Victory Over Imperialism and would trigger the election, leaving us with the implication that things could get better. Or Xueliang in an effort to maintain his personal power just as his father had, forces Jionming to revolt. After, depending on who won, Xueliang would either get access to the Unification by Force half of the focus tree or the United Provinces of China would form and they would get a more or less unchanged version of that focus tree.
Jionmong's revolt would be primarily centered in the south. Based on the various decisions taken before the revolt, they would determine the land and divisions he has for the war (I liken it to the American civil war where the AUS and CSA can get stuff like Texas and Minnesota based on political acts before hand), I would add also that the Centralize Provincial Revenues focus or whatever would remain of it in this hypothetical rework forces whatever the full power civil war is, a sort of failsafe nuclear button (similar again to the US iron fist focus, or whatever it's called).
(I hope Xeuliang subjecting himself to an election makes sense. I don't really remember the specifics of t

Republic of China supporters in Mainland China reckon that:
The ROC's Beiyang government was the first democratically elected government in Asia in the true sense. It was a democratically elected government more democratic than the United States and France (because the blacks in the United States had no votes at the time). The effective number of votes was more than 80 million (the population was more than 400 million at the time). At that time, Britain and Japan were still an elite constitutional monarchy. The Beiyang government put down the separatist forces in Outer Mongolia and contained Soviet Russia, so the enemy Soviet Russia cultivated and supported the Kuomintang, slandered the Beiyang President Cao Kun for fraudulent elections, and then seized power in the name of the Northern Expedition. The Kuomintang is just similar to the Communists, it is the one that has the final say. You have no choice. You can't contain it. It won't care about you. Because the current Communist regime is the hybrid child of the KMT and the USSR, so of course our history books say that the Beiyang government is not good.
If China followed Liang Qichao's design and the Beiyang government came down, China should have surpassed the United States sixty years ago, and there would be no relevance with Soviet Russia."(https://zhidao.baidu.com/question/118039946.html, https://zhidao.baidu.com/question/1865729329457451627.html)
Also note that, all the Republic of China scholars, artists, and philosophers, flourished during the Beiyang era. After the Revolutionaries' takeover post-1927? No more.
And what do real sources say?

"So, what remarkable contributions has the Beiyang government made in safeguarding the country's territorial and sovereign integrity? 1. Participate in World War I and abolish unequal treaties. 2. Send troops to deal with Tsarist Russia and recover Outer Mongolia. 3. Uphold Tibet as Chinese territory."

Lore: After a quick victory against multiple warlords, the Left Kuomintang organized its own government by the end of 1936. With the help of one volunteer division, Li Zongren secured Liangguang from Chen Jiongming's clique. By sheer luck, Tang Shengzhi also won Hunan election, and joined the cause of Song Qingling as well. As the forces of 3 factions combined together, Zhili was outnumbered, and Puyi fled from Beijing by the end of 1937. Zhang Zuolin stepped down during a peaceful negotiation, letting Zhang Xueliang surrender Fengtian without a fight. Brutal battles were fought against Shanxi, Sichuan and Yunnan, but peaceful unification were exercised upon Sinkiang, Mongolia and Tibet. Legation city broke themselves, and all concessions were brought home peacefully. By 1st of October, 1939 (coincidentally 10 years before otl's PRC proclamation), all factions inside the 'begonia leaf' were united. The Chinese people have finally stood up.

Hello, it's me Smug and welcome to our first progress report, where we will be discussing Fengtian Clique, one of the major unifiers of China. Today we'll be focusing more on the domestic aspect of the Fengtian Clique. Quick reminder that our mod is not alt-history. We hope you'll enjoy what we have to show today!
The Starting Situation of Manchuria
A Brief History of the Fengtian Clique
The Tale of the Fengtian Clique is one of disgusting ignominy and intriguing contradictions. Born in the midst of the Beizhen Forests, with a pact of blood and a cup of cheap wine, none would have suspected the heights to which the men who had gathered there at that day would have risen to, not even their soon-to-be leader, the cunning Zhang Zuolin. Born to a family of poor farmers, Zhang Zuolin was never afforded much in his life. Wrecked by famine in youth, he entered his adulthood an emancipated man, shorter than his contemporaries by a full half head. He would be forced into a life of banditry after avenging his father's death through murder, and would soon become part of a resistance network in Liaoning raiding Russian armies and taxing the local populace for funds and men. Soon, he would rise to fame, and would count amongst his friend future compatriots like the regimental commander Zhang Jinghui, the bandit Feng Delin, and horse thief Zhang Zuoxiang. Soon, he would come under the command of the new Governor General, Zhao Erxun, and would, at the end of the Russo-Japanese War, secure himself as one of the most powerful men of Manchuria, securing the aid of the Japanese in his fights against the Russians, an arrangement that would be much beneficial to the two groups.
When the Wuchang Uprising broke out, Zhang Zuolin and his compatriots, now known as the Green Forest Clique, would be instrumental in suppressing the revolutionaries in Mukden and Yingkou cities, earning the title of General for it. He would not stop there, and his meteoric rise to power would not be stopped by an
