The Beta Star of the Orders, said to be the strongest man with a blade. Zeno is a veteran member of the organization, and seems to have the Emperor's complete trust. Apparently the Emperor feels that Zeno is filled with a murderous intent towards him, but he still chooses to keep him close.
I'm actually mad for what Gumi did. I'll explain more towards the end as I don't want to have bad vibes from the start of the review.

 

###Small disclaimer: There is no reason to review Akstar now. Zeno is almost the exact same unit from his design but way way better.
If you are wondering about his TMR / STMRs, they are both great. His TMR is a different version of Marshal Glove with LB fillrate instead of Auto LB and his STMR is a 2h Katana, which is really good on Akstar himself and Auron.

###Overview: I don't have to fool you: Zeno is busted.

Not only does he have massive basestats with great HP/DEF/SPR and huge ATK, but his passives alongside his TMR ability are ridiculous. His own TMR is a strong 42 ATK helm and Zeno is the first unit to break the 100% TDW cap, though at the same time immediately hits the 200% TDW cap through passives. On top of it he has 130% ATK, 50% HP, 80% DEF, 20% SPR and even permanent 10% phys/mag mitigation buffs on him. Though if you thought it stops here... despite him having stronger options, Zeno also buffs his own ATK each turn by 200%!
Zeno is resistant against blind, paralyze and petrification.

Regarding his damage output, Zeno not only has 200% TDW but the newest dualwield addition: A higher chain cap. Initially Raegen and Lasswell were the first ones in JP who got a 6x chain cap opposed to a 4x chain cap with DW, but Zeno has that as well. Yeah....

If you receive damage Zeno has a 35% chance to counter with a 3 Turn AoE 65% ATK/DEF break, which can perhaps save your life occasionally.

There are many abilities that sound good but shouldn't be used in comparison to his other options.
Cold Blood - Flint , Acuity, Iai Strike, Dismissal, Blazing Heat - Ash, Imminent Death, Firaga Slash, Disorder (unless you need HP/MP), Supremacy, Absolute Mirror of Equity.
The reason why Blazing Heat - Ash and Firaga Slash won't be used is due to Ze

Times like this - big celebrations where many people get units they didn't have before - remind us all how restricted the game is when it comes to team diversity. The way I see it, the quest list should be a helpful tool, not an obstacle. There has never been as many categories in Dokkan Battle as there is now, yet our quest lists consist of only 4-5 different units for the most part.

Right now the list is a collection of DFE LRs and a few famous category leads. This is expected, there is nothing wrong with that. There will always be top tier categories and their leaders will always be over represented. But this not should be a reason why we can not play with the teams we would like. Even the daily WT/Peppy Gals missions are sometimes lacking a leader in the list. If we want to play less popular categories (Giant Form, Low-Class Warriors, Namekians, Planet Namek Saga) or long forgotten categories (Hybrid Saiyans, Shadow Dragon Saga, Super Saiyan 3) or any category that is not part of the actual top tier meta, we gonna have a bad time.

I'm not saying its impossible to find a Jiren if you need one. But it is certainly unlikely to be able to farm a good hour and a half with a USS team because after a few runs, there will be no more leaders to use. Same thing happened while I was farming SS4 Vegeta's event for medals (Neo-God, not the LR) with a SDS team and after 3 runs I had to switch to another team, 'cuz there were no more Omega Shenrons. Not to mention the punching machine event. I hardly see any nuke leaders since the hype died on the event.

We don't want rainbow copies of our leaders. SA10 55% or even 0% would do. We just would like to respectfully ask you to make it possible. Let us choose the teams we wanna play with based on our preferences and not the current meta.

Ardbert would fit several roles, he would be a Warrior of Light, so would fit in with all the other mascots, would be a perfect stand in for the Derplander as they share their design, and because of the previous two points would be the closest thing to a XIV character who is us (without having to add an entire character creation feature to everything).

Also given his choice of weapon and his Echo he could actually be a somewhat unique character if done right.

Thoughts on Ardbert as a new "face of FFXIV" character? Or is he just too short lived?

Introduction

It's write-up time again, but it really doesn't feel like it to me. There were only four solves this week-- including one backsolve-- which means progress has ground down to a huge stall. Naturally, that means that today will be another short update. I'd like to imagine that it's because Syntax and I have both had much less time to work on the Hunt in the past two weeks than we did during the winter.

However, that's likely not the case. Since we've naturally picked off the lowest-hanging fruit for months, the only puzzles remaining are the ones that we've struggled the most with. It's a classic case of the coupon collector's problem, where the last missing items from a collection can take a disproportionate amount of work to obtain. In this case, we're collecting ideas and answer lines. Of course, since the fastest solves came right at the start, it's felt like the whole process has slowed down exponentially since day one. Coupon collecting is actually optimistic compared to my gut feelings of this being a Zeno-type situation.

I'm optimistic that we can finish the last four puzzles and three metas, but compared to the first 150 or so, it's a very steep uphill climb.

Puzzle-Specific Notes (Solved)

New Year's-Holi Meta

Last week (and likely several times before that), I'd talked about this being the meta for which we had the poorest understanding. Syntax identified the numbers in the chart as indices and correctly considered this to have more than nine answers, but we both recognized that this couldn't be solved unless we learned about something.

That something ended up being the two-word format of all of the answer lines. I'd searched for the first word of each of our answers together, and that gave us the correct color list right away. Oddly enough, the puzzle that helped the most was probably the Animal Trainers meta from GPA this year, since it was also about hapax legomena.

Like most of the metas, this fell very quickly after we realized what it was about. (I think the only major exceptions for us have been HA-VA, VA-AR, and PI-BL.) Unlike The Animal Trainers, this didn't provide a lot of opportunities for misunderstandings, either, which is again, a good thing. I made a zoomed-in comparison of Zeno's head in both sprites (when you fight him in the story and as unit), and, well, I must say, while I don't particularly like his head as a boss (let's say it, I hate it because it's ugly af), I can't say I'm a fan of his fly/bug-eyes helmet either.

I love Zeno's sprite overall, the armor looks badass, but the helmet looks off in my opinion. What do you people think about it ?

Edit : used my pretty much nonexistent photoshop skills to make a helmess sprite, and that is a lot better.

I'm having a... lively debate with a person on another board about Future Zeno's action at the end of the Goku Black saga. This person is of the belief that, when summoned by Goku and faced with universe-eating Zamasu, Zeno wiped out the entire multiverse in that time period. All the universes, not just the Zamasu-infested universe 7.

I am of the stance that no, that doesn't make sense. I'm sure he could, but don't think he would in that scenario.

Neither of us are budging on our stances. I'm hoping you folks can provide some insight.

Edit: Man, I'm getting wrecked on here, both with my stance, and in downvotes.

As the Yellow Dragon, he is immortal, right? We see him get fatally wounded quite a lot of times and he has lived for over 2000 years. I am wondering, would he be able to die if he had successors like the other dragons? He has never had a child and there arent people that worship him. Maybe he would finally find peace and be able to see Kaya again. What are your opinions on this?

If we analize the relationship between Zeno and the Great Priest, we see that it's much like the one between an Angel and it's God of destruction. While Zeno can erase anything, the Priest can create lifeforms and objects (like the angels and the creation of the ring were the tournament is going to take place). Also we can see that he can take decisions that affect Zeno, like cancelling the match between Goku and Toppo without even fearing Zeno's response. This could also make the Great Priest stronger than him for being it's angel and attendant.

It seems not a lot of news are not reporting about the boat of death that left Tripoli few days ago.

More than 50 people paid 5 million LBP each to be smuggled from Tripoli to Cyprus. This included children and infants. The smugglers took/stole the money and the bags of all the people. They promised them to deliver the bags later but that never happened.

The boat left north of Lebanon headed to Cyprus but got stuck in the international waters when they were out of fuel.

10 days the group of 50 people stayed stuck on this boat, under the sun, without any protection from the sun, or food, or a place or method to defecate.

The children on the boat died in the arms of their parents after asking for drinkable water.

Several men died on the boat from the lack of food and water.

Several men jumped out to try to swim to land and are still missing.

Many international ships encountered this small boat, but the screams and cries of the passengers did not help, and not a single ship attempted to help them.

One of the men jumped out of the boat and started swimming. He got lost in the sea for 4 days and nights, alone. After battling death, he was miraculously spotted by a UN ship that saved him.

He told them about the rest of the people and they sent a helicopter to locate the tiny boat and were able to find the remaining people.

Until now, more bodies are surfacing on the beaches of Lebanon for dead people that jumped from this boat.

One person who passed away in the sea and his body later surfaced on a beach in Lebanon had a message that said Save us! cut off from the sea in eastern Cyprus. Thank you very much. There is no water, no food
