A list of puns related to "Xu Chu"
I know Zhou Tai gets portrayed as Sun Quan's bodyguard since he saved him once apparently... And Zhao Yun was often de facto house guard (rescuing Liu Shan), but did they have formal bodyguards? What about other leaders/warlords?
Been palying as Cao Cao for a long time and with the exception of one campaign, in a different start date than the 194 i've always noticed that Cao Cao and Xu Chu never get along in the same army. This might be related to some traits they get from events or other stuff, but is it possible for CA to do something about this ? I know it is a small request, but feels a bit anti-climatic having Xu Chu, who according to the romance spat blood after being informed that Cao Cao died and then having relationship issues on the campaign. As i said, i know it is a small thing, but i normally like to put Cao Cao and Xu Chu together :)

Xu Chu's a fucking laugh riot in the show by the way. Also, fuck Koei for turn him into Kevin Malone.
Condemned Howl causes him to deal 10x his normal damage (which is already very high) when he falls below 50%, which basically means he will oneshot anyone he is fighting.
The defense debuff would hurt if it wasn't for his passive 50% damage resist which is pretty mad in and of itself (and it applies to all your heroes, not just him).
No other hero is even close to being able to take him on. 'Good' duelists like Guan Yu, Zheng Jiang and Sun Jian get mowed down like strategists. The damage resist also makes him one of the tankiest heroes in the game, despite not being a sentinel, and the fact that it applies to all your other heroes as well is just incredible.
I feel like he could take some tuning down, for that reason.
Like the title says I just want to hear other opinions on the subject. Half of my battles lately are against army compositions of 2 Xu Chu and one Sima Yi or just 3 Xu Chu's. I would say I am winning about half of these depending on how good the other player is. The strategy is not unbeatable, but just really annoying to play against. People are charging in with 3 Xu Chu's against thousands of soldiers to intentionally get their health below 50% so that they can then snipe generals with the 900% melee attack. The battles are really boring and repetitive. No other general has as much impact without any way to counter than Xu Chu.
CA should eliminate the option to chose the same general more than once in Ranked MP. I think both of his abilities should be changed. Maybe add a radius to the dmg resistance ability rather than the whole map. And for the "Condemned roar" ability maybe have it activate at below 10% health instead of 50% health so that it is actually a last ditch attack that players can use before their general dies.
I'm more interested in what everyone else has to say, so please, state your own opinions
That said, to get the conversation rolling:
I'm personally mostly fine with it. At least he isn't an obese imbecile like in Dynasty Warriors. I wish he had more armour on though, but I guess CA wants to show off his huge muscles.
I dislike the size of his mace though. While I'd ultimately prefer him to have a Halberd and stay far away from Dynasty Warriors, I don't hate CA giving him a mace instead of his (historical/ROTK) halberd, since it conveys some personality and will make his weapon more unique when you collect it if he dies or is killed in game.
That said, I personally would prefer if CA gave him a more 'realistic' (I know) sized head for his two handed mace, or even just a prettier version of the Kanabo-esque two handed club weapons that Lu Bu's troops were using in the trailer. This would fit a more middle ground between personality and 'realism', and still gives a visually unique weapon for the player to collect from him (just like Red Hare or Green Dragon).
Anyway, how do YOU think CA went in presenting the Tiger Fool General?
So i had Zheng Jiang show up in my recruitment early as Cao Cao and nabbed her shes now my 2nd commander, do i divorce my wife as Cao Cao for her or marry her to Xu Chu who just showed up and breed a new master race. Are there any negatives from divorce or benefits from marriage between two that is a benefit?
Obviously story wise creating hercules is nice but yea.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Do your worst!
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
It really does, I swear!

New Zealand farm working dogs are supreme athletes that are crucial to agriculture in the region. The effects that low or high dietary carbohydrate (CHO) content might have on their interstitial glucose (IG) and activity during work are unknown. The goals of the study were to determine if the concentration of IG and delta-g (a measurement of activity) will be lower in dogs fed an ultra-low CHO high fat diet in comparison to dogs fed a high CHO low fat diet, and to determine if low concentrations of IG are followed by reduced physical activity. We hypothesized that feeding working farm dogs an ultra-low CHO diet would reduce their IG concentrations which in turn would reduce physical activity during work. We prospectively recruited 22 farm dogs from four farms. At each farm, dogs were randomized to one of two diets and had a month of dietary acclimation to their allocated diet. The macronutrient proportions as a percentage of metabolizable energy (%ME) for the high CHO low fat diet (Diet 1) were 23% protein, 25% fat, and 52% CHO, and for the ultra-low CHO high fat diet (Diet 2) 37% protein, 63% fat, and 1% CHO. Following the acclimation period, we continuously monitored IG concentrations with flash glucose monitoring devices, and delta-g using triaxial accelerometers for 96 h. Dogs fed Diet 2 had a lower area under the curve (Β±SE) for IG (AUC Diet 2 = 497 Β± 4 mmol/L/96h, AUC Diet 1 = 590 Β± 3 mmol/L/96h, P = 0.002) but a higher area under the curve (Β±SE) for delta-g (AUC Diet 2 = 104,122 Β± 6,045 delta-g/96h, AUC Diet 1 = 80,904 Β± 4,950 delta-g/96h, P< 0.001). Interstitial glucose concentrations increased as the activity level increased (P < 0.001) and were lower for Diet 2 within each activity level (P < 0.001). The overall incidence of low IG readings (< 3.5 mmol/L) was 119/3810 (3.12%), of which 110 (92.4%) readings occurred in the Diet 2 group (P = 0.001). In the Diet 2 group, 99/110 (90%) of the low IG events occurred during the resting period (19:00β06:00). We conclude that feeding Diet 2 (ultra-low CHO high fat diet) to working farm dogs was associated with increased delta-g despite decreased IG concentrations. Interstitial glucose concentrations were positively associated with dogsβ activity levels independent of diet. Lastly, events of low IG occurred at

Providence Sports Daily
April 4th, 2024
Opening day is here again, so itβs time to preview the 2024 Providence Patriots! Iβll review each of the offseason moves, then bring in GM and manager Zen Master to talk about the opening day roster and season expectations. If you want to catch up on last yearβs 92-70 campaign check out my 2023 season review.
Offseason Moves
2024 Start of Offseason Financials
It didnβt take long for the Patriots to get busy in the offseason, as they made a whopping six trades on day one. A total of ten new players were brought in, with five of those projected to be opening day starters. Weβll go through each trade one-by-one, with reactions from both sides:
Patriots Receive: Pavin Smith, Eric Wright, $1M Cash
Diamondbacks Receive: Joe Walls, Israel Barajas, Alex Padilla
The Patriots brought in two starting position players (Pavin Smith, Eric Wright) in exchange for a major-league-ready reliever (Alex Padilla) and two prospects (Joe Walls, Israel Barajas). This is what hitting coach Joey Demonte had to say about the win-now move: βI canβt comment much on the pitchers, other than to say you probably shouldnβt put too much faith in any pitching prospect, but the batters exchanged make a lot of sense for our organization. Smith and Wright are contact hitters that should excel at our stadium, while the guy we sent away (Barajas) projects to be more of a traditional slugger. This might be one of those deals that works out for both sides.β
I also caught up with Molly Barksdale of Arizona Fanatics, who wasnβt as optimistic about Arizonaβs return: βWe traded our best player (Pavin Smith) and our future starting center fielder (Eric Wright) for a couple of mid-tier prospects. I know Smith was arbitration eligible, but this doesnβt seem like a deal that makes a lot of sense. Hopefully, the team knows something I donβt.β
Patriots Receive: Mike McMinn, Lucas Herbert, $500k Cash
Dodgers Receive: Josh Rojas, Tyler Frank
In deal number two the Patriots sent out their starting first baseman (Tyler Frank) and designated hitter (Josh Rosas) in exchange for a reliever (Mike McMinn) and minor league catcher (Lucas Herbert). Assistant GM Seung-Hwa Kim explains why t
