A list of puns related to "Worksafe Victoria"
I just got a lovely letter from WorkSafe telling me it's an offense not to have work cover insurance.
I'm a little confused as to why they have a blanket rule for all businesses earning more than $7500 per year?
My company which employs myself and my wife, work from the safety of our own home exclusively on our computers, what is the worst that could happen, why would I make a claim against a company I own, and doesn't income protection insurance cover me?
Has there been any real examples where a business like this has used their insurance?
Legally what's the worst that can happen if we don't have it?
So, I got an email from Covid-19 Industry Enforcement saying that my small business in Melbourne was fined $21000 due to
>breached clause 6(2) of the Workplace Directions (No 54) by failing to have in place a COVIDSafe Plan,
So, last Monday my shop got inspected by WorkSafe when I wasn't there. We follow all the protocols, everyone was also fully vaccinated, but when they asked about the COVIDSafe Plan, my manager didn't know what it is, so he said so and they left. The thing is we have the COVIDsafe Plan document, I prepared and updated it myself. I know it is my fault that I didn't tell my manager about it, I just expected when they come I would be the one who deals with it.
I have been asking around for some legal advice but most said they have no experience with the matter. I don't know what else to do, hope by chance someone would point me in the right direction.
Edited: was to wasn't
Update: Found a lawyer, he told me to get my Covid safe Plan certified by the polices, then request for a review from fines Victoria.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
I write this as a labor supporter and I know that I will 100% get a lot of abuse about this but does it concern anyone else (especially in light of todays announcement from ICAC) that the people currently in charge of Investigating government corruption and the current Worksafe investigation within Victoria have both been heavily involved with the government itself? (mainly within this current labor party)
Iβm not writing this to say anyone is guilty or corrupt but would this not be a massive conflict of interest when the people in charge of the investigations have worked directly alongside many of the people they will be required to investigate?
The people I am talking about are listed below:
The CEO of Worksafe - Colin Radford; The previous CEO of Victorian Management Insurance Authority - who insure the Victorian Government and also worked with 3 previous Victorian Premiers
The CEO of IBAC - Marlo Baragwanath was the lead Victorian Government Solicitor
I know that a lot of these politicians and public sector employees move around within a bunch of agencies e.g. TAC, Worksafe etcβ¦.but Iβd have thought it would be a massive conflict of interest if the people in charge of these agencies, specifically ones that will investigate government corruption have previously worked within that government or been contracted to work for the government.
In my opinion these should be completely seperate and having ex-government workers/contractors on the board of, or in charge of, these agencies should not be allowed.
Iβm not taking sides and Iβm not saying anyone is guilty or corrupt, Iβm purely trying to start an open dialogue to get others opinions on the matter. Thanks!
Do your worst!
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
Particularly long article, but I think itβs important to hear first-hand accounts.
A timely reminder to get vaccinated if you can. The Ford Hub is now doing AZ for everyone, and Iβm pretty sure Dr Ern Chang at Highton Family Doctors will be running a clinic this Saturday again.

Geelong mum Angie Shrimpton tells of familyβs Covid βnightmareβ**
Angie Shrimpton is still spluttering, more than a year after contracting Covid.
Alongside her irritated lungs, the 35-year-old single mum battles stress incontinence, meaning she loses urine when she coughs, sneezes or laughs.
βI have brain fog, on occasion I forget words,β Ms Shrimpton said.
Previously fit and healthy, she can only walk for 20 minutes at a time before reaching exhaustion.
She is among many patients for whom the effects of Covid linger for far longer than their time in quarantine.
Ms Shrimpton was working in administration for Barwon Health when she was sent to Opal South Valley aged care home in August last year.
Eight residents of the Covid-ravaged facility died after contracting the virus, and dozens of infections were recorded among residents and staff.
Ms Shrimpton said she caught Covid within two days of starting work at the home.
The Belmont resident also dealt with the trauma of bringing the virus from the Highton facility into her own home.
Her two children, Imogen Shrimpton-Heyne, 14, and Jay Shrimpton, 16, were infected.
Ms Shrimpton said she was βstunnedβ to learn she had contracted Covid after experiencing a very mild cough.
βI was shocked,β she said.
βI thought I was going to be safe working at the outbreak.β
Ms Shrimpton said she became βreally unwellβ with a fever, bad cough, and extreme fatigue.
βI had absolutely no energy, Iβd get out of breath just getting off the couch,β she said.
βI would wake up feeling I was drowning in congestion.
βIt was really scary and awful.
βWe were in quarantine for 30 days because I just wasnβt getting better.β
Ms Shrimpton said while Jay doesnβt have any ongoing symptoms he is affected emotionally by the overall experience, and Imogen had been profoundly impacted long-term by Covid.
Ms Shrimptonβs lawyer, Cameron Tout, said Imogen βvery quicklyβ started displaying PTSD symptoms as a result of her seeing her mother so unwell.
βMedical reports suggest that Angelaβs daughter experienced severe psychological distress fearing that her mother was going to die,β Mr Tout, who is Shine Lawyers Legal Practice Manag

It really does, I swear!
What is the standard of proof in Victoria to have a claim for a specific medical and like expense approved
In my case I have teeth falling out. Worksafe say one thing, I say the other. Neither of us have any proof just circumstantial evidence and mine is much stronger than theirsβ¦

Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
Or would that be too forward thinking?
