Hello! I'm a one-woman-owned small business selling biodegradable highland wool sweaters based in Canada. I made a post here about a month ago with my Instagram and got a lot of asks about a website/online shop. Anyways, I just wanted to say it's finally here and I'm selling to Canada and the US. :)

[self] I've been working on a Horatio Hornblower costume based on pics of historical uniforms and sewing patterns from the early 1800s. All that's missing is a period accurate wool frock. Can't wait for cons to start up again it's been too long!!

Is Wool Based Linen a Thing?
I recently found a pale blue big scale floral fabric at the thrift. It is a medium weight woven with some nub here and there. But it has the same lightly scratchy feel and smell as woolens I have found. I have seen woolen wovens, like that in pendleton shirts and skirts, but nothing ever with a print and what looks like an interior fabric. Someone know what terms or names I should be using to research this further? Thank you!!

Prevent rust with wool-wax based products.
This is not a post showing you the horrors of what could happen if you don't use antirust on your cars. Instead, I want to tell you about the lack of rust on my 93 Sol with 190 000KM on it. As many of you know, Japanese cars from the 90s are well known for having issues with rust, and end up on a scrapheap prematurely in their lifetime.
I live on the west coast in Norway, and we have perhaps the saltiest roads in the world. I've owned cars that are half the age of my Sol that have huge issues with rust, due to not having been maintained properly by previous owners. I am however lucky to have a Sol that has been treated very well by previous owners. I am not sure what the original black viscous coating is, but the latter years the car has received Fluid Film treatmens yearly or every other year. The result speaks for itself. The car is practically rust free in its entirety, with no documented or observed rust repair, major or minor.
I have used Fluid Film on all the cars I've owned the last years and it is by far the best anti-rust agent I have tried. Combine that with being remarkably cheap and very easy to apply makes this the perfect DIY protection over other types of anti-rust coatings. It is also probably the best substance to use on older cars with starting rust attacks.
My PSA is to keep your cars alive by treating them with some sort of wool-wax based anti rust substance. Fluid Film is my choice. Krown is petrolium based but I have heard results are about as good, but it's worse for the environment and not as easily available as a DIY solution.
Edit: I apparantly suck at using Reddit. Pictures in link:

Describe your experience with how long suits last based on their Wool S number....does the S number actually affect durability?
I'm hearing so many conflicting sides on if the super S number on wool means that the suit will fall apart quicker the higher it is. I hear that if you wanted a suit to wear everyday, one should get a 100s to 120s suit as opposed to 150s which should only be worn for events. Words like that imply the 150S, while nicer, will fall apart in less than a month.
Is that really the case? Could you please share in your experience with your suits, how long have they lasted you, how often you wore them, and what S wool count they were.
I'm hoping to put this confusion to rest by seeing how real people in the field feel about this rather than a fashion blog.

We make levels inspired by sci-fi/fantasy novels! Here are some based on "Wool" by Hugh Howey.
We run a monthly, online, sci-fi/fantasy book club called Literarily Wasted and July's book was Wool by Hugh Howey. So we thought it would be fun to incorporate some gaming into our book club by seeing if we could make Mario levels based on our books. The level codes are:
Uprising in Silo 31 - KKD-2NV-3WF
- Description: "There's an uprising in Silo 31. Descend to the down-deep and suppress it."
- Difficulty: Normal-Hard
Silo 10 - 83Y-C59-3JF
- Description: Experience the demise of Silo 10. Can you unlock the secrets of IT?
- Difficulty: Easy-Normal
This was our first attempt to create book-inspired levels but we had a blast doing it. Here's a video of us playing through each other's levels: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XreM6CGmVzA&t=884s . August's book is The Night Circus so we're definitely going to try it again later this month.
We'd love to get your feedback on our levels, especially if you've read Wool!
