I am looking for a Jane Potts, wife of William Potts, both of whom lived in Ontario, but most likely came from Ireland. I am also looking to see if Sophia Hesketh Potts and Jane Potts French, were their daughters, and if the had extra children I haven't found record of. Things in Italic are ''maybes''

This is the info I have :

Husband:

William Potts, a farmer, born around 1793, in County Cavan, Ireland, died Sept 1, 1875 in Wentworth. (the town names around there seem to have changed quite a few times during his life, but essentially present-day Hamilton) He is a member of the Church of England (Protestant-Irish came to Upper Canada in large numbers around 1818- i think he came in 1822, according to the immigrant Index)

Jane, born around 1793 as well, probably in Ireland, appears on the 1851 census, but on the 1861 census she appears to have died (or moved out of William's house). I have never found any death certificate, or grave marker. However, user-made family trees on Ancestry claim that her maiden name was Lovat/Lovett/Lovet and another claims that she died on 13/02/1855 (burried on 15/02/1855, Wesleyville United Church, Ont) I have found no sources for this

Now the weird thing here is that the first definite child (Matilda) was born in 1827, when both William and Jane were 34, so very possible a few earlier ones are missing, especially since the first full census of Canada occured in 1851, when Matilda was already 34 so plenty could have moved out by then.

^1 A long time ago, my grandfather started working on a family tree. He took a bunch of notes down without really explaining who the people were. Unfortunately, he died 15 years ago, and so theres no way of knowing what was relevant. This is the info he had written down. Maybe it has nothing to do with my family, maybe it does.

So first, let's talk about mosquitoes. "Mosquitoes? What does that have to do with anything?" Well let me ask you this: Are you someone who always gets bit by mosquitoes, or is it a pretty rare occurrence for you? Believe it or not, there is actually a genetic factor to this, and mosquitoes are attracted to certain individuals over others. (Yes, science has proven this.)

You can also compare this unfortunately to many illnesses. Alzheimer's, many types of cancer, and even heart disease are all considered greater risks if you've had a parent or grandparent with such illnesses. There's even a genetic component to alcoholism.

Good Afternoon Everyone,

I stumbled upon this case about a year ago on the Unidentified Wiki and have just been enveloped in it ever since. I fell down every possible rabbit hole and continue to come up empty. Since I'm studying journalism, I wanted to put what I've learned to use. I will also include a Google doc that has every source that I've viewed or cited in this write-up.

I want to give a huge heads up, as this case is rather intense and graphic, so viewer discretion is advised.

Tragedy

In a man-made crater in the middle of a dam, the area was devoid of any activity. It seemed to be a landscape that was completely untouched by the hustle-and-bustle of nearby Los Angeles city life. At least, after the workday of construction crews.

That was, until a thunderous boom rendered the area a crime scene–one that would be, almost, completely forgotten for at least seventy years. This is the case of the Los Angeles County Does.

Before diving in, it should be emphasized that this case has little-to-no information on it; and save for some basic descriptions of the scene and the victims, as well as a slew of speculation, it is shrouded in mystery.

Discovery

The response time to this explosion was estimated to have been minutes, and the origin of said explosion was found to be a stick of dynamite. Whether this stick had been lit or if it was a dud is unknown. Regardless of how the stick combusted, the blast left two young people dead.

The first victim, a female, was estimated to be between the ages of thirteen to nineteen years of age and was–upon a glance–likely of petite stature. However, her height and weight were unable to be determined, as the explosion had left her mangled and in pieces; only her face was left in recognizable condition. Her male companion was far less lucky, as only the bottom half of him remained. Because of this, no physical details could be approximated (except for the pants and shoes he was wearing). This led investigators to believe that he was the one closest to or even holding the dynamite stick when it went off.

Odd Occurrences

Just a (surprising) note, cases of people dying from dynamite explosions were unusually common back in the early 1900s.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

No Way Home, was, in my opinion, a perfect Spider-Man movie. I loved it completely and I don't have a lot to change. Just some minor details here and there. I wanted more Matt Murdock (especially a court scene), and they should have given us a proper Sinister Six instead of a weird Sinister Five. So I went ahead and created an MCU version of Kraven to toss into the mix, and further cement Peter's desperation. I also wanted more epicness to Tobey and Andrew. And I thought Tobey's injury was a cop-out. Also some clarity around the final spell would have helped. So with all that in mind, this is what I, armed with the power of hind-sight, would have done.

After Quentin Beck posthumously frames Peter Parker for his murder in Spider-Man: Far From Home, controversial newscaster J. Jonah Jameson of The Daily Bugle has exposes Peter Parker's identity as Spider-Man to the world, while simultaneously calling for action against him for Mysterio’s murder and the alleged mass casualty event in London. As Peter attempt to get away from the Times Square, numerous civilians nearby begin to mob him and his girlfriend, Michelle Jones-Watson, forcing them to flee from the media and the police. After a high-adrenaline swing sequence, they arrive at the Parker apartment where May Parker and Happy Hogan have just broken up from their “summer fling” much to Hogan’s dismay. Hogan and May learn of Peter’s identity expose from the TV as they are suddenly surrounded by media and law enforcement. Before they can come up with an action plan, the Department of Damage Control take them along with Ned Leeds in their custody for interrogation. The DDC and FBI grill Peter, May, Happy, MJ and Ned with varying degrees of failure when suddenly lawyer, Matt Murdock (who has been hired for Peter by Pepper Potts) arrives to represent him. Murdock advises Peter not to say anything and takes the group home. At the Parker apartment, Murdock devises an action plan and Peter commends comments on how Murdock is a great lawyer. When someone suddenly throws a brick at them, Murdock reflexively catches it and assuages a Parker who is surprised by Murdock’s ability that he is simply a great lawyer.

At the Courthouse, Murdock presents a moving opening statement that calls into focus all the great work that Spider-Man has done. He uses the largely public evidence against Mysterio to shift the blame for the calamity in London. And with the help of footage obtained by Stark Industries, he is able

Beverly left her residence in the 11300 block of Linnet Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio, in the evening hours on August 24, 1951. She and a female friend rode their bicycles to attend the Showagon, an annual summer festival.

The Showagon took place in Halloran Park, which stretches south for three blocks between west 117th and west 120th streets, about an eighth of a mile away from Beverly's home. The area around Halloran Park in 1951 had a number of large trees which obscured the streetlights and made the street almost completely dark after sunset, and vagrants sometimes frequented the park at night.

A thirteen-year-old acquaintance saw a girl he believed to be Beverly walking diagonally across the park, headed in a northeast direction towards her home. He recognized her by her unusual gait.

She was about 150 feet from the corner of Linnet and west 117th Streets when she was last seen. Her parents reported her missing at 10:30 p.m. when she had not come home and their search of the area failed to turn up any sign of her.

Beverly is not believed to have left of her own accord. She is described as a shy, quiet, obedient girl and a good student who was due to enter the fifth grade at Louis Agassiz Elementary School in the fall of 1951. Beverly had a happy, stable family life at the time of her disappearance. She was also unusually cautious, particularly around men and boys, and would flee when approached by a stranger. She had been warned against unknown men but not against women, so it is possible that she was enticed by a woman.

1 - Zendaya is more popular than the actresses playing Kate Bishop, Pepper Potts, Gamora, Jane, Peggy Carter, Okoye, Shuri, Captain Marvel, Christine Palmer combined, according to their Instagram followers. She is even more popular than Tom Holland himself. She is probably the biggest gen z influencer out there. In other words, that means MONEY.

Too many female fans of her watch the movies just because she is the main love interest of the protagonist. Even in homecoming, they put her face in the movie poster when she was a complete side character that only had 5 mins of screen time, because they knew how bankable she is.

So since Sony and Disney like money a lot, there is no way they are getting rid of Zendaya any time soon, specially when their story with Peter hasn’t really completed and so many fans like her, specially after no way home.

2 - They reveal her surname to be Watson, since this has zero effect on the plot of no way home, the only reason they would do such kind of retcon is because they want to make it clear that this MJ is the real and only MJ Watson in the MCU. Her name might not be Mary Jane, but she sure represents what Mary Jane is supposed to mean for Peter. Revealing her surname to be watson in the third movie would be pointless, if they are not bringing her back.

3 - Because she still wears the necklace Peter gives her after forgetting him, and in the last shot of No Way Home, she seems to recognise something after talking to him.

4 - Movie studios don’t like to give heroes to many love interests, because it’s hard for many fans of the previous one to invest in the new ones, specially after a heartbreaking ending like that. If she was dead it would be simpler to make people move on, but since she promised she would figure it out, too many fans will root for them to have a happy endgame.

5 - Tom and zendaya are dating in real life. When it come to negotiating contracts, having the main characters be an actual couple in real life is something tempting for movie studios to capitalise on because it just works to make money, and since Zendaya has said she doesn’t like how sad the ending was, it’s likely both Tom and her, will push Sony and Disney for a happy ending in the next trilogy between them.

6 - She is a popular diverse character. Since she is Afroamericano, that’s just something that movie studios likes to push. Even if they brought Gwen or Black Cat or other l

The age old Superman story ‘Man of Steel’ features themes that relate to world domination and the take-over of Earth by an outside force that yet again is looking to rescue its own source of power, its ‘own world’ by trashing another planet, in this case our domain - Earth.

The original story of Superman created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, both from Jewish migrant families, tells of an alien child (a god) born to Earth from a distant planet called Krypton. In fact, the original ideas for the story were more about the ‘reign of the Superman’ from the comic The Advance Guard of Future Civilization #3, a fanzine published by Siegel in 1933 (below). The German Nazi obsession for ‘the Supermen’ is worth noting. Of course long before Superman was a comic book concept, the 'arch black magician' Aleister Crowley was writing about ‘Supermen’ in 1917 in his work Moon Child. Just like Superman, Crowley seemed to get all over the world at the turn of the 20th Century. The character Lex Luthor (played by Kevin Spacey) looks a bit Crowley-like.
