A list of puns related to "William Painter"
I just stumbled upon a painting with that name attached and it turns out, the guy painted a lot of marine landscapes, among other things, but "turbulent, often violent marine paintings" seemed to be his thing.
Too much of a coincidence I say, but I found nothing that confirms his stupid thought. Here's some reference: https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/J._M._W._Turner
Ever since my adolescence, William Blake's prophetic writings have informed my self-identity and consciousness. Even after I moved on to other intellectual interests and was shaped by life into who I am today, Blake's principles and world-view formed my consciousness and awareness.
As I move on to another life, I'm returning to the things and events that helped shape me. I lived in William Blake's vision for many years, and as I return to his nourishing light I want to share this with you so you too can see infinity in a grain of sand.
**THE ARGUMENT**
As the true method of Knowledge is Experiment, the true faculty of knowing must be the faculty which experiences. This faculty I treat of:
Principle 1
That the Poetic Genius is the True Man, and that the Body or Outward Form of Man is derived from the Poetic Genius. Likewise that the Forms of all things are derived from their Genius, which by the Ancients was call'd an Angel and Spirit and Demon.
Principle 2
As all men are alike in Outward Form; so, and with the same infinite variety, all are alike in the Poetic Genius.
Principle 3
No man can think, write, or speak from his heart, but he must intend Truth. Thus all sects of Philosophy are from the Poetic Genius, adapted to the weaknesses of every individual.
Principle 4
As none by travelling over known lands can find out the unknown; so, from already acquired knowledge, Man could not acquire more; therefore an universal Poetic Genius exists.
Principle 5
The Religions of all Nations are derived from each Nation's different reception of the Poetic Genius, which is everywhere call'd the Spirit of Prophecy.
Principle 6
The Jewish and Christian Testaments are an original derivation from the Poetic Genius. This is necessary from the confined nature of bodily sensation.
Principle 7
As all men are alike, tho' infinitely various; so all Religions: and as all similars have one source the True Man is the source, he being the Poetic Genius.
I'll start with the soap, it's like Sorry, I don't have 50 DOLLARS to spend on a BAR OF SOAP. and in the past 100 years I don't think the aluminum and the "words you can't pronounce" has killed anyone.
and the sunglasses people, If the $500 designer brands and the $5 gas station sun glasses are made out of the same stuff and look the same, then why don't I buy the $5 dollar one? also why do I need military grade titanium and level 4 bullet proof glass for the lenses? and honestly who is ever going to use your bottle opener glasses? like if your going to a party there is GOING to be a bottle opener. AAANNNND when was the last time your "cheap plastic" broke. as someone who wears prescription glasses not once has the plastic on my glasses broke.
That's all... the recent barrage of crappy commercials is making me hate William Painter.
You assume because we are both from the same race Iβm going to give you a discount and not sell you something in the famous βJob 10β if youβre not working there.
Then you act surprised that I respond with, βIβm the manager and I donβt lower prices based on race.β
I called a couple of highly rated (on google) painters but neither of them use Sherwin Williams paint. So, I called the Sw store and asked if they could recommend a painter. He took down my info and within a few hours, someone called and said the rep gave him my name. Great, I thought and have an appointment this week to get an estimate.
I canβt find online any information about his company, no reviews/website/etc. It all made sense though when I looked up the license and found out heβs only been licensed a few months.
Hereβs my question - do the recommendations given out mean anything? I mean just because he hasnβt been in business long, might still mean heβs a great painter. Surely, they donβt give out customer info to people they barely know?
I meant to let y'all know a few days ago, last Thursday was Billy's 182nd birthday, so raise a glass for The Man, the reason we're here!
Should November 20th be declared, 'International Bottle Cap Day'? And maybe even call November 'Bottle Cap Awareness Month'? =-]
keep seeing the ads and wondering if they're worth the price
We have a two-story great room and contracted out the painting of the walls and ceiling (and popcorn scraping and some other work etc). The contract is that they will use Sherwin Williams paint, base quoted for SuperPaint and we paid to upgrade to Duration on the walls. They're finishing up work now and I see they've used Behr Ultra instead.
The color we chose is from Farrow & Ball, which was unfamiliar to the job foreman and I think threw him for a loop. He asked about it before work started and I'd said I've only ever gotten it at Lowes, but if SW couldn't pull the code that I'd find a SW color that matched. He never notified me that they'd be using Behr. I'm not sure if he even tried to get SW.
I'm definitely not paying the price to upgrade from SuperPaint to Duration, but I'm wondering if I'm out of line asking that they repaint using SW. My instinct is that Behr isn't as good as even SuperPaint, but they do have a decent warranty on their work (will repaint if intercoat peeling occurs within two years).
The painters did good work and it looks good, but I'm concerned the product won't hold up (though this would be the only room in the house that had SW; everywhere else is indeed Behr or Valspar). TIA!
I might buy some because their company looks promising. Has anyone ever bought from them or had any issues with them?
