A list of puns related to "William Hamling"
A lot has obviously been made of the similarities between our grand final run and the magical run we went on in September 2016. I think there are some important differences, but coming from outside the top 4 and travelling seemingly all over the country to make the grand final definitely lends itself to the comparison.
But I was wondering how the two sides stack up against one another?
2016:
Johannisen / Hamling / Boyd
Biggs / Morris / Wood
Hunter / Bontempelli / Picken
Macrae / Cordy / Stringer
Dickson / Boyd / Smith
Roughead / Dahlhaus / Liberatore
McLean / Roberts / Dunkley / Daniel
2021 likely line-up:
Williams / Keath / Daniel
Dale / Gardner / Wood
Hunter / Macrae / Treloar
B. Smith / Schache / Dunkley
Weightman / Naughton / English
Martin / Liberatore / Bontempelli
Hannan / R. Smith / Duryea / Johannisen // Vandermeer
I think it's clear that the 2021 team has more raw talent. Even if only because of the maturation of the core 8 players who are returning from the 2016 side. Plus we have the additions of Treloar, Bailey Smith, Aaron Naughton.
But we are also missing some incredible players from back then. Some of them have what you might think of as like-for-like or similar replacements, while others haven't been replaced and we've instead changed style (in particular, we are much taller up forward).
I feel like Matthew Boyd, Liam Picken, Dale Morris, Tory Dickson, Jake Stringer, Clay Smith and Jordan Roughead were huge players. To replace them in part we've got Caleb Daniel in a new QB role, Cody Weightman, Alex Keath, Mitch Hannan, Tim English and Stef Martin.
I am a bit concerned about our ruck situation. Martin can compete in the actual ruck, and we've shown that we do need that. But his ability to go around the ground is limited. Roughead was super underrated in our 2016 run, I think.
One thing both teams have in common is an extremely underrated defence. Because we play a team defence that preferences spoiling over intercept marking, our players don't get any kudos or plaudits. But I heard on the ESPN Pod last night that we have conceded the third fewest points per game of any side in the modern scoring era (from the late 1960s onwards). Melbourne are actually second fewest. But Melbourne get all the credit for it, and we get absolutely none. I think the 2016 side was similar in that it was considered a weak defence but it consistently shut teams down playing selfless, team defence.

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

The problem with Fremantle in 2021 was their very best was usually followed by their absolute worst. If coach Justin Longmuir can narrow that gap there is plenty for Dockers fans to look forward to in 2022.
Hereβs how 2021 looked.
#THE GOOD
The youngsters in the Dockers midfield took another step forward β Andrew Brayshaw, Caleb Serong and Sean Darcy in particular.
They showed in the absence of Nat Fyfe that they can step up to the mark when the captain and David Mundy are no longer permanent fixtures in the middle.
Darcy now sits in the top four ruckmen in the competition behind only Max Gawn, Nic Naitanui and Brodie Grundy and with improvements in fitness it should take him into the top one or two next season and beyond.
The development of his forward craft was a bonus.
Hayden Young missed a large slice of the season through injury but what he did show at the bookends of the season when he played was he has the guile and skill to move upfield.
While his incisive kicking and intercept marking make him a good fit at half-back, the Dockers are blessed for riches in defence, with Heath Chapman and Brandon Walker, able to provide the run and carry.
Wing seems a logical place for Young next season. The way I see it, they have two wing spots available, unless they bring in fresh talent in the draft or trade period.
The exposure to forward Josh Treacy was invaluable for a player elevated off the rookie list.
He still has plenty of work to do and was gifted games at times purely because there were no other options and needs to find more of the footy, but showed in patches he has the want to hunt the footy and hurt the opposition.
#THE BAD
There is still a disconnect inside forward-50 that needs to be addressed over the summer once again.
The poor skill execution that was highlighted when Ross Lyon departed took a small step in the right direction, but there is plenty of room for improvement.
Goalkicking is a priority β in 15 games of 22 the Dockers kicked more behinds than goals. It cost them this year and will continue to if they donβt put some time into it.
Their pressure acts also need addressing, particularly forward of centre.
The focus needs to be on retaining the ball in their forward 50 because itβs been too easy for opposition teams to go coast-to-coast.
While there is backline depth and the word on J

Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.

It was a disappointing end to an otherwise promising season from Fremantle as the Dockers attempt to end their six-year finals drought.
Fremantleβs best was palpable, with thrilling wins against Richmond and West Coast in the second half of the season demonstrating the Dockersβ potential.
But their best was often followed by their worst, with hefty losses to St Kilda, Carlton, Port Adelaide and Geelong leaving fans confused and aghast.
Andrew Brayshaw, Sean Darcy and Caleb Serong continue to chart towards superstar status.
But as with every side, Fremantle have their flaws and must spent the off-season working to address their deficiencies as well as receiving adequate compensation for departing midfielder Adam Cerra.
Trade radio and list management experts Matt Rendell and Stephen Silvagni weigh in on how the Dockers will fare next season.
#What worked?
Underlined by one of the most promising young midfields in the competition, Fremantleβs stoppage and contest work improved.
The Dockers improved to sixth in the AFL for contested possession differential, up from 11 last year while also improving to third for clearance difference, up from 14.
Fremantle kicked the fifth most goals from the midfield out of any side and managed to improve to third in scoring from defensive 50, up from 18 last year.
That included a rise from 15 to third in moving the ball from defensive 50 to inside 50.
The Dockers are also still one of the younger teams in the league, averaging the fourth-youngest team all season and the fourth-least experienced side.
#What didnβt?
Fremantleβs turnovers remain a concern, ranking 18th for points from turnovers and 15th for points against from turnovers.
The Dockers forward line remains an area of improvement, Fremantle improving little in points scored to rank 15th this year up one place from 16th last year.
Fremantle finished the season 17th for goals per inside 50 and last for accuracy.
And after emerging as a strong point last year, Fremantleβs defence took a step back in season 2021.
The Dockers ranked 12th for points against compared to fourth in 2020 and 16th for opposition score per inside 50 down from first last year.
βWeβve got a lot of work to do in all aspects of our game, especially in our offence,β senior coach Justin Longmuir declared at the Doig Medal count.
