We are all likely familiar with obsolete, disproven scientific theories like Spontaneous Generation, alchemy, or the sun & planets orbiting the Earth. What are some lesser-known, equally wild theories that were accepted as scientific fact in their day?
I know that "science" is a more modern concept/process and that many theories of the type I'm looking for predate it. But I'm speaking of ideas that were not just blindly believed, but were backed up by evidence and supported by authorities.
I'm especially interested to learn about theories from non-Western cultures, as I'm really only familiar with Western ones, like the ones above.
Any students of the history of science out there?

Δ°t is a nice weather to walk. A kast enjoying a beautiful and sunny day. although electrical storms are common on the fast rotating planet, kasts have learned to pull the lightning bolts away from their settlements, via building metal pillars. Hovewer the nests of the wild animals also do the same.

Is there sources out the that explain the science behind Outer Wilds planets and their phenomenon?
I heard that Mobius teamed up with scientist to make the physics as realistic as possible, but is there a source somewhere that explains everything?
Just for example how >!Brittle hollow doesnt just collapse on itself!<

Found a wild Base Computer on a Blue/Green Paradise Planet in the middle of a flat area cut into a hill with a cave entrance behind it, an A-Class EM Field right above it, and multiple Curious Deposits nearby. It's also in the planet's "twilight zone," so it's always daytime.
