A list of puns related to "Which Of The Following Are Examples Of"
I've been reading up on different religions quite a lot but something that I noticed is that many dead religions like Manichaeism aren't really that well understood with much of it being speculation.
What I'm really looking for are religions that would be well understood enough that it could theoretically be revived today, meaning that we have a well enough understanding of the religions beliefs and practices to understand how it would have been practiced day-to-day.
With significant following I mean like something that would have been a major religion in an area, not like a short lived small new age movement that popped up and died in a short time.
I had a conversation with someone the other day who had a very cynical worldview. They believed that human progress always regresses to the mean and what we think of as social progress today is just a flash in the pan in terms of all of human history. They suggested that there could be found examples of countries that overturned anti-slavery laws but provided no examples.
Off the top of my head I can think of all the paintings of how Joseph translated the gold plates
What else is there?
I can think of one:
the breakup of the multigenerational family, followed by the breakdown of the nuclear family. Nuclear families allow the labour of childcare to be transformed into a commodity and sold, instead of provided for free by grandparents in the same home. The transition from nuclear family to single parenting means both parents generally have no choice but to work insane hours to get by alone and half-raise their child. Plus the destruction of family connections gives people more time to sink into their labour.
Were there any marines who avoided joining the worship of a particular chaos god and instead worshiped a differing god? Like a World Eater Marine worshiping Nurgle or a Emperor's children Marine worshiping Tzeentch? All I know of are Chaos Undivided legionaries worshiping specific Gods.
Based on the number of apparent contradictions in the Bible which can only be resolved by making unfounded assumptions about the intentions of the writer, figurative language, history, etc. it is difficult to imagine any hypothetical contradiction which could not be resolved in a similar fashion. This makes the claim that the Bible is inerrant virtually meaningless, and it should not be used as an argument in favor of Christianity.
For example, takes Judas's death, explained in Matthew 27:3-10 and Acts 1:18. In Matthew 27, Judas, filled with remorse for betraying Jesus, brings the money back to the Temple and hangs himself soon after. Since the priests can't put the money in the treasury because it's blood money, they buy a potter's field with the money, and for that reason it was called the "Field of Blood."
In Acts 1 however, we see Judas purchase the field himself and "falling headlong" and... exploding, I guess... and that's why it's called the "Field of Blood." It makes no mention of his remorse, and his death is explained almost as if it were divine vengeance.
Most apologetics I see address this only address the circumstances of his death; he hanged himself, and some time later the rope or tree branch broke and his body fell and exploded (due to his body being bloated from some decomposition process). However, this doesn't explain why any honest writer (who knew that a man who did something terrible was in fact so remorseful that it pushed him to suicide) would summarize the story as "This guy did something terrible, and soon after he fell and exploded."
Another issue is that in Matthew, Judas doesn't actually buy the field. I've seen this explained by saying that Judas actually did purchase the field by proxy; he gave the money to the priests, and with the money the purchased the field, so in a way he actually did purchase it. To me, this just seems like grasping at straws. The Greek word translated to purchase, ktΓ‘omai, means "to acquire, get, or procure a thing for one's self, to possess". As far as I know, there is no reason to believe the word has another meaning which gives this apologetic any validity. If Judas had told them to buy the field with the money, I could see this as a reasonable explanation, b

It can be a physical clone that serves as symbolism the dark side of the characters or a imaginary being that represents the darkness within them.
I think one of my favorite examples is the fake Mima from "Perfect Blue". It does not only serve to show the darkness within our good girl protagonist that we are tricked to believe but it also gives her more layers to her character than simply just showing a side of the character that is just completely evil and that's about it. It serves to add even more depth to the character and also to represent the other themes/messages of the film. Fake Mima is a ghost of the past that Mima was to hold on to but also that ghost that haunts our present. That voice in our heads that judges us, plays mind games with us, and forces us to act in such ways that we normally wouldn't. Our frustrations and doubts. That ideal to what our heads tell us what we should be to appeal those around us. The persona that was not only created by herself but also because of the pressure of the male gaze that wants for Mima to stay as the pure and appealing object that only serves to entertain the masses rather than a human being with her own personal feelings, traits and desires. A persona she was forced to believe in by the system in order to fit in to what "people really want" from her. She is the creation of the male gaze and her lack of self-worth and the embodiment of toxic femininity.

Everyone here on this sub always talks about the Dark Ages and itβs always either 21-26 with the exception of 25 or 34-38 with the exception of 37. But what other period of Seasons in your opinion was another set of the Dark Ages? And do you guys have a different opinion on the Dark Ages?
Like in the case of Newton and Leibniz inventing (or discovering, that's a different discussion) the calculous almost simultaneously hundreds of kilometers away, are there more examples of this happening in history? Was it very common?

Hello! I am a low to mid plat ADC main, and I recently started taking ranked seriously, but I seem to have hit a wall. I have major decision making and macro issues that I don't know how to fix myself, leading to me feeling useless despite any leads I might have accumulated during the laning phase.
**Farming** - I seem to be able to win lane consistently enough, or go even at the very least (most of the time). My farm is ok to average early on (about 70 to 75 at 10min, 115-125 at 15min), but it starts decreasing heavily the longer the game goes on. I do not know how to farm past 15 minutes in a solo queue environment. The right thing to do, or what people have advised, would be to join my team mid for objective control after the bottom turret falls, but how do I keep up in farm by doing so? Often times I would go mid and there I would be... just dancing back and forth, resorting to splitting the farm with our midlaner, both of us getting 3 cs per minute. And so the game reaches the 20...25 minute mark, and I've gained 30 additional farm in the past 10 minutes (now sitting at 150-160 at 25min), I just don't know how to explain it any better than I already have, it happens in about every game and I don't know how to get more without missing important fights happening on the other side of the map. Which leads us to my second point.
**Teamfighting** - I often times seem to be late to join teamfights. Teams here in plat seem to take many very unnecessary fights. For example: drake is up in 1min20sec, Baron is going to spawn in 2, but here they are, brawling it out next to the enemy blue buff while I am trying to catch up in farm mid. Should I be at the fight? Is it the team's fault for being there and I should just forget it and keep farming? How do I make it to fights in time without aimlessly walking around with my team and missing out on a lot of gold worth of farm in the process?
**Pushing my lead** - Sometimes there are games in which I win the lane hard enough to have a sizeable gold lead. How do I push my advantage as an AD? There are a lot of games in which I win lane hard but throw the lead away bit by bit by falling into the 2 points mentioned above (Too late to fights to be impactful, be 6/3, group mid, but miss out on a lot of farm over the course of being grouped for extended amount of time, giving the enemies breathing room). So my question is - how do I extend my lead to other lanes as an ad carry outsid
