I just saw from my building window some Patrol people digging in the grass of the median with a shovel and some civilians standing around. Left lane was closed because of this. Anyone have any idea what's going on?
We have recently stopped ordering from them. But, I wanted to see if anyone else was affected.

Mine is S Post Oak between BW8 and 610. Itβs literally like a mad dash/end of the world scenario where I literally feel like I may be run off the road for not going 60mph.
What is the best route for a late night drive, preferably through Downtown, River Oaks, etc. I know my car people can help me out here.
I've always lived along this street and it's super dangerous for pedestrians, and there are so MANY that use Westheimer. Being able to get across the street peacefully and safely would benefit both the pedestrian and the drivers. Bridges could be set up all along Westheimer from 610 to Hwy 6.
I don't know how many times I've woken up to the news that someone was run over and killed on Westheimer overnight or in the early morning hours. In the evening people in fast cars and motorcycles love to drag race on the road.
Pedestrian bridges would also make it more enticing for Houstonians along Westheimer to actually get in their car less and walk to get to the Target across the street or get to the shopping center on a busy intersection. Those stores would more than likely see more customers and the streets would be less congested for through drivers.

Not because theyβre bad drivers, but because I keep getting distracted trying to be nosy and read their plates to see where theyβre from.
But honestly, did there used to be this many?? It seems like itβs dramatically increased since the pandemic but I donβt know if thatβs just my perception of it. Just now I counted 2 Florida, 1 Minnesota, 1 New Mexico, and 1 Tennessee just on a 30 yard walk from the HβEβB doors to my car
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!

Iβd like to hear from people who grew up in this area, specifically the area surrounding the Dairy Ashford Roller Rink lol, Iβm sure it was mostly rural, though. If you have pictures as well Iβd love to see them! I grew up around that area and was always curious what it was like before I was born seeing as most of the houses and stuff seemed to have built up in the 60s and onward.
