So, just because of who I am as a person, I've started compiling a list of films owned by Warner/Turner/New Line/etc. that are distributed by Warner Home Video that have been discontinued in hopes of finding a trail to future Criterion releases. If any of y'all find any additional titles that have gone OOP that would make sense in The Criterion Collection, post them below! This is my idea of fun! And if you have debunking info for any of mine, feel free to point it out -
- Bringing Up Baby (1938, dir. Howard Hawks) - Regularly speculated title, DVD only being sold through third-party sellers on Amazon, not listed on WBShop
- Arsenic and Old Lace (1944, dir. Frank Capra) - Another regularly speculated title, CC loves Cary Grant, DVD only being sold through third-parties on Amazon, not listed on WBShop
- The Gay Divorcee (1934, dir. Mark Sandrich) - Astaire and Rogers pairing, currently being sold with 3 other Astaire/Rogers films in the Silver Screen Icons line, standalone DVD only through third-parties on Amazon, not listed on WBShop
- Show Boat (1936, dir. James Whale) - Previous Criterion laserdisc release, iconic musical, previously sold on DVD through the Warner Archive Collection, but it's been removed from the lineup
- Torch Song Trilogy (1988, dir. Paul Bogart) - Late 80s Queer film written by Harvey Fierstein, New Line's US DVD release is only available through third-parties on Amazon, not listed on WBShop
- Dinner at Eight (1933, dir. George Cukor) - Pre-code ensemble comedy with an all-star cast, DVD only available through third-parties, not listed on WBShop

it's been months since it was semi confirmed by John Walters to be coming out by wanner bros. Anyone know if it's still happening? I'd imagine it wouldn't take 8 months to make Blu ray's of Pink Flamingos .
