Victor Salva (born 1958) is a film writer and director. He is best-known for the Jeepers Creepers series.

Salva confessed to molesting the star of two of his films, Nathan Forrest Winters. In 2017 Nathan said that he was molested by Salva for six years.
Rebecca Winters, Nathan’s mother, met Salva when he was working at a day care center. Her friend had her daughter enrolled in the daycare. The friend suggested that Rebecca make props for The Goblin’s Gold. Nathan thinks that Salva began grooming him and his family soon after he met them. The molestation began a year after they met.
By the time Salva began working on Something in the Basement, he was trusted by Nathan’s family. Nathan would even stay overnight at his home. In an interview, Nathan said that he suspects there are other victims because he was not the only boy to stay overnight at Salva’s home. Nathan begged Salva to be able to audition for Something in the Basement. Many boys auditioned for the role.
Something in the Basement won a competition. Francis Ford Coppola was one of the judges, and his production company provided the funding for Salva’s next film. Clownhouse was written to star both Nathan and the other young lead actor from Something in the Basement.
During the filming of Clownhouse, Salva told Rebecca that she could not go to the set. She began to suspect that something was wrong. The cast and crew also thought Salva was behaving inappropriately by doing things like having Nathan sit in his lap and brought their concerns to Rebecca. This isn't some QAnon stuff; it's all well-documented. Victor Salva was convicted of molesting Nathan Winters, a child actor in Clownhouse, which is a movie Coppola backed via Zoetrope. Coppola took a personal interest in Salva after seeing a short he made, which is why he helped get Clownhouse made. After Salva got out of jail, Coppola kept funding his films, e.g. the entire Jeepers Creepers series. Why??

I have no issue separating art from reality. Polanski is in my top five directors at all time. But, I can’t help but sense some sort of sick, illusionist fantasy Salva expressed through the creation of the Creeper. Am I reaching? Or is it not impossible? Ever since seeing the first jeepers creepers at a very young age and being horrified for several years after of the character I became a semi fan of the forgotten concept. Recently I learned of a third film, and got excited so every now and then I would search info on the film to find out what's the plot and how far along it is. I never really looked up a wiki or any thing for the original movie and sequel so I didn't know about the directors dark past which was why the 3rd entry has been halted for so long.
The director of jeepers creepers, Victor Salva is a convicted child molester. After learning this information. The series of films became more disturbing than anything I've seen in years and here's why; the plot of the first jeepers creepers (if you have not seen it) revolves around a brother and sister duo traveling across the Midwest (south?) to see their parents on break from college, when five minutes into the film a rusty dilapidated truck runs them off the road. Minutes later the duo gets back on the road only to witness a few miles down the road the possible driver of the truck dumping a red stained sheet down into a pipe and then the duos life go's to hell from there.
Now there's a few things that are very creepy once you know the directors past that relates to the creature antogonist. First is that the creeper seems human through the first half of the film, it wears old clothes and a hat the covers it's monstrous features in shadow like a man who is hiding a terrible secret such as a pedophile. Secondly is the twist of the film a 3rd through. The creeper kills people based on how afraid of it they are and in the early 2000s one would have to assume it's the female character Trish but it was actually her some what effeminate brother Darry. The creeper has a thing for preying on young men and boys as shown through out the first and second movie, the second having a stronger theme of this sadistic pedophilia as the first 10 minutes shows the creeper abducting a grizzled farmers young son, which leads to the father hunting the creeper in the latter half of the film, also in the second film no female character is harmed by the creeper. The second film really shows the creepers sinister pedophile under tone as the film's victims are young masculine football players who, many times throughout the film, happen to be shirtless while the only person that the creeper could not get to harm was several youngTake it from a life-long horror fan: Victor Salva has had an enormous [negative] impact on the genre, and on film itself. He's also -- hey, get this -- a convicted and "officially" rehabilitated sex offender.
Roman Polanski and Woody Allen are both vilified, either fairly or unfairly depending on the critic, for crimes perpetrated that were potentially less hurtful (HUGE qualifier there; please take it with a grain of salt) than Salva has committed. This is someone who RAPED a 12-YEAR-OLD BOY multiple times and allegedly FILMED IT ON THE SET of his OWN FILM (Clownhouse, look it up at your own discretion). Factually, this stood up in court, no question about it. Salva admitted to his offenses and eventually was released after 13 months in jail. Just putting it out there: He is not your "run of the mill" psychopath.
Anyone who has seen his films and found something...off...in them is probably on to something. If you don't think you've seen a film of his, remember Powder? Wanna know what the ideal sexualized male body for pedophiles looks like?
But I'm interested to see how many people are interested in this research. I'm not an idiot; there aren't a lot of people interested in viewing such morbid stuff. Perhaps a video on Salva will provoke the opposite intended effect, bringing him more attention. But even with that in mind, perhaps I can still draw attention to the systemic child abuse in Hollywood.
If I start a project, I have a high likelihood of following it through to completion because of my temperament. If there's no interest, then I won't have to buy his films for the commentaries and will simply move on with my life. If there is, I'll take it from there.
So with that in mind, who is interested in a lengthy video tear-apart of Salva and his history? Is it going too far, or do you think it's worth it to have this in mind while Jeepers Creepers 3 sneaks its ways into cinema or VOD? I can tell you I've listened to some of his Jeepers Creepers commentary on the Scream Factory release, and it is bone-chilling knowing who this person really is.
(And then realize that, according to some of the most skeptical people I've met, a ring of child traffickers actually exists in Hollywood and then realize this is likely the tip of the iceberg.)
