A list of puns related to "Veronica Roth"
He was such a good character and his death didn't even mean anything! It was just used as a device to make Tobias feel guilty, he didn't have to die! He could've just kept on living his life and it wouldn't have had any bearing on the plot whatsoever. Tobias honestly kind of sucks in my opinion and i don't think getting a bit of emotional angst from him was worth Uriah dying.
Not to mention how bad i felt for Christina by that point. Everyone she cares about dies, EVERY TIME. first Will, then Al and Marlene and Lynn and Fernando. Then, just as she's making a new friend, opening up again, HE DIES TOO
Uriah was my favorite character and his death was unnecessary and stupid, he should have been allowed to keep living his life, especially after he got through everything else.
It's been ~4 years since i finished this series and I'm still salty.
I wrote the Divergent Series of dystopian YA books (Divergent, Insurgent, and Allegiant), which have sold ~42 million copies worldwide, and have been adapted into three major motion pictures starring Shailene Woodley. I am also the author of a space fantasy series (Carve the Mark, The Fates Divide), a collection of sci-fi short stories called The End and Other Beginnings, and assorted other short fiction, most recently a new piece called 'The Least of These' that you can find in Lightspeed Magazine. My new book, Chosen Ones, came out yesterday. It's my first book for adult readers, about a group of people who saved the world when they were younger from a "dark lord" figure known as the Dark One-- and now it's ten years later, they're the most famous people on Earth, and they're still dealing with the psychological impact of their adolescent trauma. Only it turns out their story isn't quite finished yet, as you might imagine.
I cancelled a book tour because of the pandemic, but I'm doing a series of livestream events this week with other science fiction and fantasy authors, in cooperation with some independent bookstores who need our support during this tough time! You can find out the schedule and stores for those events here: veronicarothbooks.com/tour.
Also, full disclosure, I'm also a frequent lurker in the books subreddit under a pseudonym, though I've never posted. Happy to answer your questions!

So I finished the first book and am re-reading it as I have both the first and the second book. It's a mix of star-wars meets divergent and I absolutely loved reading it. Just wondering if anyone else did and their opinions on both books. Spoiler free of course.
Has anyone read Divergent by Veronica Roth (and the sequel). I watched the movie by chance yesterday and quite enjoyed it. I looked it up online and found that it's based on the book mentioned above which is YA.
Has anyone read it? How much of the main character mooning over her trainer is in the books? I'm really not into love stories, especially not into what YA tends to consider love. So how big of a part of the books is that relationship?
EDIT: Seems like the rating is pretty unanimous. Thanks everyone for chiming in and I'll probably give this a pass for now.

I love the divergent books so much, they are one of my fav series. And after reading books, I love watching the movies, seeing how the characters come to life, knowing what they are thinking when I watch the scenes, but the divergent movies were so disappointing and different, i honestly didn't feel like what I was watching and what I was reading was the same thing.
I mean let's be real the first movie was interesting but wayyyy too different from the book . The second movie was worse, and the third movie was so bad, they didn't even end up making the last one.
I feel like one of the reasons THG movies were such a big hit was bc suzan collins was part of the team, with one of her roles, I'm assuming, making sure they stick to the book as much as possible and her vision of the story. Ofc with every book you can't fit everything in the movie and there were some scenes I would choose to put over others but overall they were great movies and they were similar enough to the books.
The divergent trilogy was also very popular at the time and I think with Roth there guiding them the movies could have also been hits.
So Iβm happily reading her book of short stories βThe End and Other Beginningsβ and to my delight one of the stories has the characters bonding over fan fiction. Made me smile (I know, small things).
So it got me wondering if she has actually written fan fic herself? The ways her characters talk about it she clearly knows more than the average non fic reader. I guess she could have just researched well but I am curious. Google didnβt help so Iβm throwing to the brains trust here, any ideas?
Hi! I just finished reading Chosen Ones by VR and I really enjoyed it. I was wondering if anyone knew of books similar to it? Thanks!
I have only read one, but I enjoyed it. Good bite sized stories. On to the next!

Available on September 17. Here is the Amazon page for more information and here is an interview with the authors on goodreads.
The books all sound great and I personally love and will read almost anything that several of these authors write.
Last week on this sub, I made a post regarding how I've never really enjoyed reading, was never good at it, how do I get better, etc. Well, after making that post, I decided that the best way to do this would be to set a goal: 50 books in the next twelve months. After a trip to my local Goodwill, I managed to find the entire "Divergent" series!
Four days and almost 500 pages later, I finished. It might seem trivial to some, but this really is a big accomplishment; I hadn't finished a book in it's entirety since high school. This is the first time where I truly appreciated the inner monologue of the main character; the first time I laughed out loud at something a character said; the first time in FOREVER that I've actually enjoyed reading a book.
