A list of puns related to "Valdosta State University"
I was originally going to Wayne State University in January. I had a mini career and financial crisis and decided to take off all of next year since I just graduated with my BA this month. I decided Wayne State was too expensive so Iβve been looking for cheaper schools and saw Valdosta is typically pretty cheap. They also have a technology focus which is what Iβm looking for. I originally wanted to do Archives but Iβm hoping doing something more tech/data driven will help give me a backup if I canβt break into libraries or something.
Is Valdosta any good? Is it as cheap as it says it is? This and University of Missouri are my top 2 picks right now in terms of cheapest, but kind of leaning towards Valdosta.
Hi there! I am a student planning to transfer to Valdosta State and I wanted to know what is the Computer Science project like, whether it's good or not and what are the professors like? Looking forward to reading your replies :)
As the title states--I'm looking to apply to their graduate program (because it's the cheapest), and I just wanted to get some insight from anyone who has gone through the program before.
Thanks!
I work for the Air Force and they will pay for 75% of a doctorate. How hard is the above program and how hard is it to get accepted?
I have a MLIS from VSU but my GPA was only a 3.35 so its a little low. I think they want a 3.5.

In less than 7 whole days, two legitimate professional/collegiate sports championships have been won out of two of the seven most popular sports in the United States in the state of Georgia! Fantastic job, 2018! Even though it was only in December, multiple championships in a year are very rare for this state!
VSU Nation won their fourth NCAA D2 football national championship, albeit defeated Ferris College with an ironic nickname. But they can soon be back to the College Football Playoff NC Game with Kirby Smart.
I am graduating from my junior college and I am looking to apply to schools as an international student as a CS major. My future career is to be a game programmer or something related in that area.
I personally want to go to VSU because it seems to provide its students various opportunities and is relatively inexpensive. My dad however, wants me to go to Taiwan because βall schools there are greatβ, and also it would be a fully paid scholarship.
Do you think I should go to school I want to go, or the one thatβs βbetterβ but donβt want to go to (Taiwan)
P.s I would be a transfer student to VSU, but a freshman at Taiwan.

Mascot
Mascot at games
So yeah, our mascot are the Blazers and Blaze is basically a dude with his head on fire. He looks like a matchstick. You put two and two together.
Before having a matchstick as a mascot, we had a Dragon with a beer gut. Still named Blaze.
While there is hardly any info online on the subject, we used to be called the Rebels till I think the 70s. Only place I've seen any Valdosta State College Rebel memorabilia is in the university library archives and one random bar in town.
Football History
Valdosta State Blazer football has a relatively short, but wholly successful history. Our first season was in 1982 when we went 5-5-1 under Jim Goodman. In 1994, Chris Hatcher won the first of three Harlon Hill trophies by VSU Blazer quarterbacks. He won it under the tutelage of Hal Mumme. In 2000 and 2001, University of Kentucky transfer Dusty Bonner (who also was coached by Hal Mumme at UK) won the Harlon Hill Trophy in consecutive years. Valdosta State and Texas A&I (now Texas A&M-Kingsville) are the only two schools to have three Harlon Hill Trophy winners. In 2004, 2007, and 2012, VSU defeated Pittsburg State, Northwest Missouri State, and Winston-Salem State University respectively for our three DII National Championships. Oddly enough, the only year we won both a conference championship and a national championship was in 2004.

Greetings, Blazer Nation!
Georgia House Bill 280, commonly known as the βcampus carryβ legislation, will take effect on July 1. I understand that many of you have strong feelings about this bill. Yet, whether you opposed or supported the legislation, it will soon be state law, and I respectfully ask everyone to exercise patience, understanding, and respect as we implement it along with every other institution of higher education in the University System of Georgia.
We all share the same goal of ensuring a safe campus environment. We should work together to implement the law as written and thoughtfully address any complications that may arise. Beginning July 1, House Bill 280 will allow anyone with a valid Georgia Weapons Carry License to carry a handgun in a concealed manner on property owned or leased by public colleges and universities, with some exceptions. It will not allow any other type of gun to be carried around campus, nor will it allow handguns to be carried openly.
Georgia law defines βconcealedβ as βcarried in such a fashion that does not actively solicit the attention of others and is not prominently, openly, and intentionally displayed except for purposes of defense of self or others.β A Georgia Weapons Carry License holder, therefore, may carry a handgun while it is substantially βbut not necessarily completelyβ covered by an article of clothing he or she is wearing, or contained within a bag βof a nondescript natureβ he or she is carrying, or in another similar manner that generally keeps it out of the view of others.
House Bill 280 does have some exceptions that limit the locations on campus where a weapon may be carried.
No one β not even a Georgia Weapons Carry License holder β may carry a weapon into:
β’ Buildings and property used for athletic sporting events. This includes stadiums, gymnasiums, and similar facilities in which intercollegiate games are staged. This does not include so-called βtailgatingβ areas where fans may congregate outside the gates of the sports facility or student recreation centers and similar facilities that are not used for intercollegiate games.
β’ Student housing facilities, including residence halls and similar buildings where students live on property owned or leased by the University System of Georgia. House Bill 280 does not apply to student housing that is not on property owned or leased by the University System of Georgia.
β’ Rooms and other spaces during the times when
