In OTL, the intervention of Great Britain and France didn't really intervene until the naval blockade from 1845-50 to help Montevideo weather the siege by Manuel Oribe's Argentinian army. But what if they intervened much more forcefully to support their economic and political interests in Uruguay and the region and helped crush Oribe's attack in October 1842 after he had fled to Argentina, forcing Argentina to sign a treaty that they not intervene in Uruguayan internal affairs? Twenty-two years later in the Blanco-Colorado conflict, does Brazil still intervene with the the OTL treaties from 1851? Does Argentina?
I've tried searching my school library and the internet, but I can find hardly any information of the civil war. The Wikipedia page doesn't even have any external references. Has anyone read anything on the subject recently-that is either available on the internet, or is relatively inexpensive? It would be very helpful.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
I made this question yesterday, but it was poorly formulated.
We all know that there are a lot of similarities between Uruguayans and Argentinians, but I also feel that there are a lot of differences. I have found Uruguayans less extroverted and they usually keep to themselves. Argentinians are extroverted, not like Colombians and Brazilians, but they are. Argentinians are also very direct and speak out what's on their minds while Uruguayans try to keep their opinions to themselves.
I am talking about cultural differences, not about Peronismo vs Battlismo and all that.
I'd like to hear your opinions.

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.

I know that both countries originated from the Viceroyalty of the Rio de la Plata, and that during the chaos of the Napoleonic wars and the Latin American wars for independence what became Uruguay was annexed by Portugal. I also know that Uruguay later won its independence from Brazil. But after these historical events was there ever a sort of Argentine irredentist claim that argued that Uruguay was part of a larger Argentina, based on similar culture and shared history. If so, were there any actions taken to realise it?
