Unpretty Rapstar is a Korean competition show to showcase women rappers. The women in the show don't necessarily have any beef with each other and do support each other despite being in a competition. Even when the show is over, they still want each other to succeed in the rap game.
But American women rappers are very different. They have random beefs for no reason. You would think it's because any publicity is good but that usually isn't the case for these rappers that fade into obscurity.
It's a if two women rappers can't exist in the same space. But in Korea, no one cares if two women happen to be rappers and female groups tend to have at least one rapper. It is a different culture but wish in America it would be more open to the idea of multiple women rappers.

Personally I loved the show, plus I think there is enough good female rappers now to more of a SMTM style show..

OK so I wasn't sure whether I should post this as it doesn't directly relate to our girls but it gives one trainee's perspective, who happens to be reasonably well known (Grazy Grace) on what it was like living and training to become a member of the group that eventually became LABOUM as we know it.
She never mentions any company names or member/trainee names but it becomes very obvious from the clues and photos/videos she shares in the below videos that she was a trainee to debut in LABOUM:
- She mentions they were two separate companies, one with a really well known girl group (Nega Network and Brown Eyed Girls) and one that had a fairly famous boy band (NH Media and U-Kiss).. she also references a boy band that only released on song and could never lift off (LC9)
- She's blanked out faces of the other trainees except for Hyosun (from HUB and The Unit)... Hyosun is friends with all the LABOUM members on IG and always likes their posts.
- She shared a behind the scenes photo from what is obviously the LC9 - Mama Beat video and you can tell by the outfits that ZN and Solbin are sitting on either side of Grace even though there faces are blanked out (around 1:20 mark of Video 2).
That's just a few of the hints.
Even if you're not a fan of Grace (or don't even know who she is) I really recommend you watch both videos to get an insight into the trainee process and then use your imagination with the rest, but she is 100% talking about her days as a trainee to be a member of Laboum. I found it fascinating.

I remember watching the uncut clips from the Cypher or Yezi vs. Sua (final elimination, NOT the diss battle, this one is on youtube i know) on a korean site and I think dailymotion or vimeo and now i can't find them. I know that the full uncut cypher was splitted in 2 parts, kittib was doing the whole rap not like in the aired episode where she did her part wrong. And yezis performance with Sua where she did 2 mistakes that weren't so long as mnet made it seem in the aired episode.
Does anybody know where i can find them again? If it's a korean site with area restriction it's ok too!
I saw this today and thought there would be some people interested. Free accounts have ads but they have never bothered me. Happy binge-watching.
