I've been working the past year after finishing college. But lately i have been getting the urge to maybe start an education which is a step higher then what i gratuated from. I myself am a 24 year old male but when i will finish i'll be 28 years old since the educations length is 4 years. I dont know why but it feels like this is really old to finish school. I'm from the Netherlands for the people wondering from which county i'm from. The education in question is Cybersecurity. The reason why i'm asking this is because i would like to know what people think of gratuating as a 28 year old.

I've decided to go for it! Thanks for all the nice comments! It's better to be 28 years old and have a degree then being 28 years old and regret not going for a degree when i was 24 years old.

I hope you’re all doing well this holiday season.
I am a student in Canada expecting to graduate from my bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Engineering in Spring 2022 and I am interested in pursuing a master’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Vienna.
This post contains various questions I have regarding the Master of Mathematics at the University of Vienna so if anyone from the program can provide any answers to any of my questions that would be appreciated; however, I would also welcome answers from anyone in other programs or even other Austrian/European universities that believe they may have valuable input to provide.
With that being said, here are my questions:
- Admission: From what I can tell from the information online, it appears that admission is open to anyone with a relevant bachelor’s degree. Is this true? As mentioned before, this spring I will graduate with a Bachelors (B.A.Sc.) in Applied Mathematics and Computer Engineering which I am assuming is relevant enough; however, if someone can confirm this, that would be great.
- Graduation rate: The program website says there are 224 current students and 18 graduates in the last year. Does this imply that the graduation rate is poor, or are there many part time students in the program? If the graduation rate really is that poor, what is the reason behind this?
- Program length: The program website says the median number of semesters needed for graduation is 5,4 (which I believe is equivalent to 5.4 – please correct me if I’m wrong). Does this mean it is uncommon to complete the program in the specified 4 semesters? Do many people take 6 semesters to complete the program?
- Coursework: Online I read that 1 ECTS is approximately equivalent to 25 hours of coursework. Is this accurate? i.e., for a 6 ECTS course in a 15-week semester (please correct me if this is not the semester length at uni wien), is 10 hours a week a good estimate for time required?
- Oral exams I: Many of the courses I’ve investigated seem to have the entirety of the grading weight on an end of semester oral exam. Can anyone speak on what this type of exam is like?
- Oral Exams II: I was speaking to a friend in a master’s program in Italy who mentioned that it is common for people to fail exams and have multiple attempts to retake them. Is this the case in Austria as well?

I've started working a pretty thick portfolio, to apply to this branch of the respective university.I've tried looking for reviews and experiences of students who have already followed this path, though I can't find much.In my case, it's a pretty expensive and hard to obtain goal, so I wouldn't really want to finally get there and be disappointed.
Main reasons why I want to study in the Netherlands, apart from actually learning something there and preparing myself for actually getting a job, are opened minds.
