The creation of the U.S. Space Force, the release of millitary footage of unidentified objects and the current Perseverance mission on Mars have all been timed to correspond with a big announcement from the United States government (and possibly others) within the next decade.
Alright maybe I am crazy but my gut says that the government knows there are objects of extraterrestrial origin routinely visiting the planet and that with the pace of current technology this will be apparent to the public in the coming decade(s) so they have created a plan to disclose this to the public in a way that will not cause mass panic.
The creation of the Space Force is so that there can be the appearance of protection and action from the government to calm people. The released videos are to slowly acclimate the public to the existence of these technologies (but the most shocking videos/evidence has not yet been released) and the Perseverance mission is to find conclusive evidence of (past) life on other planets. I believe within a decade of Perseverance finding proof that life has or had existed on Mars that major world governments will let the public know they have been tracking what they believe to be extraterrestrial objects for decades.
What does the United States Space Force actually do?
The branch has existed for about 2 years now and has almost 5000 people in it, what exactly do they do? I can't imagine they're fighting aliens and we already have NASA for space development
