United States Shipping Board Puns

It’s a long story why I need to do this, but any advice would be greatly appreciated!

This bill, the USPS Shipping Equity Act, introduced to the US House of Representatives this summer, would allow the Post Office to deliver alcoholic beverages. They have been prevented from doing so by law since 1909. The bill has bipartisan support, and would help save the cash-strapped Post Office.

I've never done it. I'd love to extend the reach of my business and I've received a few messages with people asking me to but I worry that shipping will be too expensive. Any idea how I can run some numbers to figure out if it can be affordable?

Average price per item is about $40. I charge $3.99 for shipping. Shipping end up being a range of $3.50-$4.50 so it all evens out. I don't want to raise my shipping costs for the customer but I can't afford to eat any of it either.

It gets tough for me because one listing contains many different options in length and therefore weight. A 2 ft cable weighs a lot less than a 20 ft cable. My margins are so tight I can't be put out covering mistakes in shipping.

Hey everyone. I just wanted to see if there was any interest here for this lot of watches. I purchased all of these watches new and have babied them.

The Time and Time Steel have bezel and screen protectors from GadgetWraps. The Steel had them installed since day one. The Time I went without protectors for a long while. Unfortunately the bezel has a scratch.

I have the original boxes for the Time Steel and Wyze Watch. Unfortunately I no longer have the box for the Time.

All of these watches hold a great charge. I still get four days out of the Steel. I think three out of the Time.

Hey! I was planning on shipping out a small haul soon, and I have found out that SAL has closed all shipping lines to the United States. If building out a haul, prepare to go EMS, even though most have been going through EMS due to SAL being delayed. I'm not sure what will happen with hauls already being shipped to the United States, but I believe they will still be shipped.

I ship computer equipment for my company from Canada to new employees in the US. This is not for re-sale, it was not sold to the employee, it is their personal equipment to be used for work.

The typical package value is about $3500.00. Two monitors, keyboard, mouse, docking station and laptop.

I usually ship International Economy

I include a breakdown of the package contents, value/weight of each item, origin, origin criterion (B) and the commercial invoice 3 copies.

The recent customs delays have been for the following reasons:

1. Importer needed to provide their SSN because the package was valued over $2500
2. Customs wanted to know what the products were made of (Uhhh.... plastic??? WHAT? I dont know)
3. Wanted to know the manufacturer address
4. Wanted to know the serial numbers for each item (Again, not something we track before we send the item off....)

Here are my questions:

1. What can I do to mitigate these customs delays?
2. Is it normal to include serial numbers when shipping products for employee use?
3. Is there some way I can indicate these were not goods for sale to have this processed smoother?
4. Some of out laptops do have Lithium Ion batteries, what is the process for labelling and documenting this for shipping? Because they're contained within, does this need to be disclosed?

My YunExpress package for branded shoes has already cleared customs. I don’t think there is a problem with the inspection of the contents.

However, when I processed SuperBuy shipment for one of my LATEST hauls, I got a warning that I shouldn’t use YunExpress to ship shoes (I didn’t get this warning during my first shipment)…

Even though tracking shows that my first shoe package cleared customs, I’m worried that somewhere along the line, the package was rejected.

Anyone United States YunExpress users seen this before?
